  1. I grew up in rural areas of Pennsylvania. I grew up living in a trailer with my mom, dad and brother. I worked on several different farms from a dairy farm to bailing hay. I was about five when I started working on the farms. I learned early what it means to put in a full days work with my hands. My grandfather was the most important person in my life at the time. He told us stories of him at war. He always told us funny stories. He said he would tell us more when we got older. He use to us camping several times throughout the year in the heat or in the cold. He taught us how to hunt, skin and cook everything we killed. He taught me how to shoot how to use a bow. He taught us how to make traps and build shelter. He said we need to learn these things. He always said "The best thing a person can be is CAPABLE". He said you cant rely on anyone. But that doesnt mean you shouldn't try. It just means you should always be ready if things go south. He was a good man. He always said you should help people if you can. I started to hate camping because every time we went I could see his age catching up with him. Two week trips became one. Which became a day or two. We stopped camping when he could walk to the car or put his bag on anymore. I lost him in my early teens. After that my life changed drastically. My parents didnt handle the death well my father started drinking and mom took us away. I joined the military as soon as i could. I wanted to make my grandfather proud and serve like he did. After several years I got married had kids and had a decent life. I took a job as a contractor for a company that taught survival skills to groups worldwide. One day while in South Africa I received a call to come home there was an accident. I learned my wife and children had died in a car accident. At this point I had no one left. My mother died of a heart condition. My father drank himself to an early grave. My brother didnt take our mothers death easy and took his own life. I had no one left. I dove into work taking every job in every country they would give me for several years. On my last job I was sent to Nyheim to train a small military group on survival. After I was done my flight got canceled and we got placed into stay at home. I lived in a hotel for weeks as things escalated. Once I realized what was happening it was too late. I grabbed everything I could which wasn't much and headed out in hopes i could survive by avoiding large groups of people and wait it out.
