Li Hua was a student studying Pharmaceutical Science at Peking University when the crisis started. He was able to use his knowledge of medicaments and biology to keep himself sustained on various plants during these times. He was known at University for being unorthodox in his methodology and always experimenting with new substances randomly to try and see what concoctions he could create. When the crisis started, Li Hua immediately made his way to the Chinese coast, assuming that there must be a remote island that was less affected than the mainland. He travelled to the city of Qingdao where he found an abandoned raft and made his way out to sea. He landed to the North-west of an island about 2 months later, and made his way into the forest looking for plants that could sustain him.
