Slava has spent his life on the move. As a tinker and researcher, he has always been trying to find new resources for reviving old technologies. The knowledge he's gained along the way is also the means by which he's supported his family, fixing things, making things, and sometimes coming up with something new. When he lost his wife, daughter, and son-in-law to the frenzied flu, it was another reason to move again. In his last letter, Slava's son, Maksim, mentioned taking his wife and new son north west to a place that was supposed to be safer. A place with new-old technologies. Slava thought that was probably the best direction to try. Perhaps he may even allow himself to hope to see his son there.
