Richard Marks is a cordial man, especially given his tragic story. His mother died during childbirth and his father, a devout alcoholic couldn’t bear the thought of raising a child alone. It was clear Richard Marks would not follow in his fathers footsteps, despite the lashings, of which there were many, Richard continued to defy whims of his father. His father grew tired of Richard’s consistent disappointment and consigned him to his grandfather. Upon the age to serve his farther forced him into the Army where he was deployed on the Russian boarder. Eventually cut off from his comrades and no way home he now struggles to survive the cold and unforgiven nature of the apocalypse.
