I see where you're coming from completely regarding how players would roleplay making this stuff, but I don't feel it's such a big deal IG regarding stuff. Players already know how to build a base albeit them not being a carpenter, what makes chemistry any different?
Although, you could have it where the player can only completely make the explosive if they find a book about blast mining, or something like an Anarchist's Cookbook. An explosive RNG check would also work, but it'd be hard to implement, not only that, but it might dissuade players from making explosives at all considering the risk that you could flatten your base and annihilate all your loot.
Thanks for the support on this thread; if I have the time to study modmaking on the engine DayZ runs on (not used to this kind of stuff, normally modded for other games using different codebases) I could make this mod possible. No idea if Roland would consider merging it to the modlist, but i'll take my time to see if I can develop this. If DayZ isn't open source like I think it is, we still have the grenades and landmines to work with to make a mod like this work, which means it could still work, maybe with some creative liberties. With this, I could eventually add more explosives to this list, like RDX shrapnel explosives and all sorts of stuff.
I've been mulling over the idea of makeshift craftable explosives for a long time now, here's why;
Explosives in DayZ are very minimal. You have grenades, and that's it. Mostly, even though grenades and landmines are the only explosives, I feel having more stationary bombs that players are able to craft from household items would be an awesome addition. Very high-grade explosives can be used for things like intense raids, while you could also have shock-sensitive makeshift explosive materials reserved for things like trapping roads with bombs, home defense, or more. There's still much that I could add that could be made by players, but having multiple explosives could spice up raiding, the atmosphere of fighting ingame, base defense, roleplay and hostage situations, and so much more. Thanks for coming to my Ted-Talk.

Why the verdict is not fair: I was banned for making an invalid character page months ago, which I was banned for with no previous interaction or statement. While I was making my character page, I avidly looked at every form of rules I can find, and can't find the discrepancy with my character page for the life of me. On top of all of this, I couldn't find out why I was banned, as my ban reason informs me to check PM's, however, I never received a PM about my ban whatsoever, and as such, was left in the dust.
Additional statements/comments explaining your point of view: If I could've had more insight on why I was thrown the book on this, my appeal would've been way different. I feel that it's quite questionable that I was punished out of the blue on something that could've just been fixed with an edit on my page, if there was an outlying discrepancy.
What would you like to achieve with this appeal: My main focus on this appeal, was not to only try and see if i'm even able to appeal this thing, but to also mainly get some insight on what was so scandalous about my character page that I deserved to get removed from the community by being banned indefinitely.
What could you have done better?: I'd do something better if I could guess what I did wrong in the first place. Never received a single PM despite the ban reason stating that i'd receive one about my ban, yet here we are; I have still yet to be PM'd on what exactly I did.
