My character is an IT geek, he always loved technology and always played with it even outside his working hours at a company he didn't particularly find exciting. He lived alone, his family was only his grandmother who was in Portugal, he had never met his father, he left when he was very young and his mother tragically dies to a crash crash, shortly after the car crash he decided to move to Turkey, where he had a good job opportunity he could take, trying to escape the bad memories and to make a good use of his time on Earth. He was always a very isolated person always kept to himself, he always avoided going outside, only going for his food shopping every 3 months. He also created all sorts of crazy things at home with his programming and engineering skills. He never paid much attention to the news, however, one day, while working on his latest project, a flexible screen that was also disguised as a wall, he quite happily felt like it was time to test the screen with his old satellite antenna, hoping to check how a tv channel would look like and what the reception would be like, only to find out, that there had been an outbreak, he had only now found out about this, he lived in a remote village, but still, he couldn't believe no one though of letting him know,. He hadn't been outside for nearly 3 months already. Very concerned, he went outside, jumped on his van and went by his neighbour, he was only 2 minutes away by car. He saw nothing, he tried knocking, no answered. He tried the next house, nothing, next house, nothing, he was know seriously concerned and starting to panic so he drove all the way to the city centre. It was a ghost town. No living, no dead, just empty. He rushed into his house thinking about what to do, in complete panic. He still had a couple weeks worth of food so he decided to stop and have a good night sleep, he had to rest, a long day was ahead tomorrow, he could feel it. After 8 hours of sleep, he heard some scratching at his front door. He was so happy! was it all a dream ? The mailman usually just throws the letters to the mail opening at the door, but still, he wanted to look at a human being, to put his mind at ease and understand what the hell was going on. He quickly opened the door only to find this strange looking person with rotten skin drooling like an animal, he jumped and ran to his room, the zombie rushed beating on his room door, he was strong, the door was cracking, he quickly grabbed what he could, a dinner knife, a few cans of whatever canned food he had under his bed and some water bottles and he rushed through his bedroom window, running without looking back, in absolute panic, he didn't live far from the beach, so he headed to the beach, maybe in the water he would be safer and then he could swim his way somewhere else, after all the creature he had just seen didn't seem like he could control his members very well, surely he couldn't swim properly. When close to the beach, he couldn't believe it, a boat! A small engine fishing boat, he dragged it onto the water as quickly as he could. He jumped on it and started to float away, he looked back and it looked like the zombie didn't chase him. After a while, when he finally calmed down, he tried to get the boat engine to work and surely after 20 minutes, it was finally running, he had no idea how much fuel he had and he had no idea how to check, so he just headed away from the coast, he knew something would be across the sea more or less, after all, it was the Black Sea, he would eventually find the other end, maybe he would find a place with people still alive and well, he did see some people alive on his tv screen the day before, but he didn't know how old that footage was. After days at sea and now with no food and starving he finally could see a coast his boat barely managed to get there, having to swim the last mile. But he did it, he was know somewhere he didn't know and started to look for houses,. Everything was empty, like it had been looted but he continued and searched grabbing the little things he could here and there, some old cereals, some canned tuna and then he found a newspaper booth, with 1 newspaper inside, where it briefly seemed to explain how all of it started, at least everything to the point where no more newspappers were delivered he assumed. He was in a place called Chernarus.
