as I stated above. I'm not new to DayZ. It just seems exceedingly hard compared to what I remember and was wondering if anything changed. Also I died in 30 minutes from spawning due to the rain and not being able to find anything. Just seems ludicrous.
Hi, I haven't played DayZ in many many months and not seriously for over a year. I'm finding it EXTREMELY hard to find even basic loot. There has not been a single apple on any apple tree I've been to. I have only found one soda can. Not a single melee weapon of ANY sort, not even a shovel. Only thing I've found is crappy clothes and even then those are very rare. Whats up with the loot table? I've died of starvation before even meeting another person. It's 14 days into the official outbreak, basic supplies should not be as rare as they are right now. What gives?
Also, the weather on Chernarus seems to be rain almost 24/7 so I'm just getting cold and dying not long after spawn since I can't find any food and my hunger bar drains quickly. Did DayzRP change the loot tables? Or is this just how DayZ is now?
Jacob was born in a small run-down mill city in Northern New England. He was born into a family of 4 children, his father a worker at the one remaining paper mill, his mother, a part time shift worker at a local diner. The youngest of his siblings, he had a lot of time to himself while they largely took care of household obligations. This free time, with a lot of acreage to explore in the rural area led to Jacob spending a lot of time out in the wilderness. The time he spent out in the wilderness sparked a fascination with wildlife.
When Jacob was 16, the mill closed down due to outsourcing, forcing his father to look for work elsewhere. Opportunities were limited and his family struggled to make ends meet. With his other 3 siblings grown up and moved down south to major cities, this left Jacob to pick up the slack. While still in high school, Jacob secured a job at a camp, his wilderness skills being of use to teach campers how to survive. He loathed the rich city kids who would come out to have a taste of the "wild" while he himself struggled to balance school, family, and work.
Jacob turned 18 and graduated from high school shortly after. His good grades earned him some top scholarships and he enrolled in university in the environmental sciences program. Completing his first year with a high GPA, he was presented with the opportunity to conduct research of the effects of the frenzy flu on wildlife in Chernarus, free of charge. Seeing that he would likely never get this opportunity again, he disregarded the risks of traveling abroad in such a turbulent time and went ahead with research. He hoped that participating in this research could land him with a cushy job back home after graduation. With a guarantee from the company and from the Chernorussian government that researches will be protected by all means necessary, he figured "what could go wrong?". Everything went wrong. Landing him where he is now. A college student, stranded in a foreign country, without knowledge of the local language but with survival skills and a quick wit.
We actually did have this for like a month or so after the lore wipe. The UN established a safe zone down south, before moving to Kabanino where they spent a lot of time. Before giving up to the VDV and packing their bags and abandoning the place. I still remember going along the road between Stary and Kabanino watching the UN Convoy head east. Must have been 20 of em running carrying all kinds of tents and equipment. They wouldn't tell us where they were going, so from that point we knew we were on our own in this world and that the governments of the world were finished. The days after the lore wipe were fun times and had interesting group dynamics where it wasn't just hostile RP getting robbed 24/7. I haven't played much since August 2017, school and everything else had gotten in the way, but it was good times.
I do say that we're in need of another lore wipe though. Its been over 2 years. And when they did the 2017 wipe it was over 2 years since the one before that.
Ok, so I haven't played in over a year and my old Character didn't work despite renaming it to my character's name that's on the website and active.
When I load into the world it spits me out as a black women, which my character is not. So i made a new character with my characters name and it still spits me out in the world as a black women. I'm at a loss on what to do here. After a time as the black women it then kicks me saying it's not my active character. What gives? Any help?
Well, I've had that not be the case many times.
Also, regardless people should be slower to just kill as soon as they are provided the ability to do so unless the person who is not complying is actively threatening their life with something. Makes for more interesting RP when there is a standoff.
The goal of all RPers should be to minimize the killing of others, even if you are hostile RPing. When someone gets killed, and they get killed again and again by hostile RPers, they will avoid people and RP and much as possible. Eventually they will get bored, and leave. Getting killed over and over again is just not fun, its the reason we had the restrictive rules because people were sick of it, then hostile RPers got tired of barely being able to do anything for fear of a report, so now the rules have swung the total other direction. Hopefully people won't be shit and it will work it. It became so much of "oh he initiated I'm gonna kill him and have some short term fun" and people looking for any reason to kill someone.
I think they shouldn't be KOS zones, but if a group wants to control it, they have to man it and defend it, and when people come their way, send them away and if they do not comply within guidelines of good RP they can deal with them as necessary
I feel like automatic weapons wouldn't be hard to find, even the ammo. There is so much surplus ammo that just sits around, + millions and millions of rifles made, that it really shouldn't be too hard to find one considering the global population has probably been reduced 10 fold.
the only problem is if you don't perm your character, others remember those events and by you being there and not having a clue its awkward. Its like time travelers saying you died in XYZ way at XYZ time but you have not a clue what they are talking about. Also you'd have no clue of any altercations that took place between your character and someone else's character, thus they could be like hey you were the guy who did "insert something here" and you would have no idea who that person was. If bandits were less eager to just kill for anything it would be much better because that makes better RP and then you don't have to regear and run all the way back to popular spots. But also the bandits shouldn't just fill it with *RP* aka just torture RP so they have something not just drop weps 10 secs
1.) No friends to play with
2.) RP got stale
3.) new rules are bleh
4.) Real life got me first
5.) Waiting for .63
6.) Nobody plays
7.) Time-consuming just for some shitty RP. At least months ago, haven't played with the new rules but when I used to play you'd spend time getting gear just to get everything taken by some bad guy "who you should know the name of and teaches you a 'lesson'."
8.) No dynamics anymore like VDV, CDF, UN, etc.
9.) Other games I can have a lot more fun with much less effort and time required.
I had the most fun for the first 3 months post lore wipe, after that, any time I try to play its just shit.
