Backstory: My name is John Wolfe. I grew up in a small town in the midwest of the United States, Nebraska to be exact. I spent most of my early childhood fishing with my father and grandfather out on the lake in our town, and all throughout my years in school it became my favorite pastime. After graduating high school, I was offered a fishing scholarship to a small university on the outskirts of our state, and of course, I willingly obliged. I studied finance and business in school, as well as fishing for the university's team. I fished tournaments in hope of making in the big leagues, becoming a professional fisherman. In school, I met who is now my wife, Sarah, she was studying botany and plant science, a bunch of environmental stuff I didn't know much about, but she was still amazing all to me. I soon was sponsored by some major fishing brands through my contacts and friends I had made through my college fishing days, and ended up fishing in some of the worlds top fishing tournament trails in the United States, but enough about me, let me tell you how I ended up here. One late summer night I received a phone call from one of my buddies, Mark White, who traveled the world fishing for exotic species and large trophy fish. He was traveling to a place called Chernarus to fish for some trophy carp, reported to have weighed 50-60 lbs. He was excited and said that his sponsors had two extra plane tickets that his family was going to use to go, but they were unable to go due to work. I talked to Sarah and asked her if she would be interested in coming with me and Mark, and she was excited, due to the fact that there were many plant species she could study and possible explore in the wilderness of Chernarus to see if she could find any plant species that have never been documented. When we arrived on July the 6th, Mark informed me that we would have to stay in a lodge with one of his contacts he met through his sponsors, due to the fact that there was a heavy military presence and tensions were high in the area. We met up with his contact at the Balota airfield after landing, and rode with him up north to a small cabin near some ponds. We spent the next few days fishing local ponds trying to snag a trophy fish, but that never happened. Sometime on July the 11th, panic ensued on the television about an "outbreak", our contact said it was a bunch of nonsense and told us we were going to travel up north to a pond he knew had trophy carp in it. When we reached the outskirts of the city to stop for supplies, I noticed people running through the streets, acting berserk. We had no idea what we were getting into. When we reached the town our vehicle was swarmed with what I can only describe as people infected with rabies. They were trying to break into our vehicle, smash through the windows, our contact floored the gas pedal and tried to get away and ended up crashing into a building. I blacked out for God knows how long, and woke up, blood seeping down my face and a hell of a headache. I immediately came to my senses, out the window to my left, those things were eating Mark, I know it sounds crazy but they were EATING Mark. In the driver seat, the contact Mark knew was either dead or passed out, I never did found out which. My wife, Sarah, was no where to be found, no where near the car or anywhere in eyesight, but the crash had gotten the attention of even more of those "things", so I ran. I ran faster than I ever had before into the wilderness, and ended up finding some kind of hunting stand that I climbed into. They were hot on my trail and were coming right for the stand, so I laid down in the stand and hoped for the best. The sounds they made were horrific when they made it to the stand, but all I could do was close my eyes and pray they wouldn't notice me, but in doing so, I ended up passing out in the stand. When I woke up, the sounds were gone. I peeked through the boards to see if they were still there, but they weren't. I cautiously climbed down, and took off sprinting through the wilderness once again, headed in what I believed was South to try and find help, and more importantly, Find Sarah.
