About Abshire

  1. Need a GUID or SteamID reset? Post here!

I would like my GUID reset for Standalone please and maybe double check and see if my ArmA2 one is sorted? //Voodoo: PM Sent
  2. Suggestions for Server 3 - The hardcore server

I am sure its been mentioned...but ACE would be pretty sweet. I have seen it implemented before in servers and it was pretty awesome. Which includes windage.
  3. Testing out S3

I came back to RP because Standalone was garbage and I missed RP very much...now I see that finally Sever three is going to happen with ACRE...something I wanted for AGES...I cannot wait!
  4. Jed Bridger meets ODA-153

I think now might be the time...to bring back old Jed...Bridger.
  5. DayZRP 1.3.0.1 Bug Reports

Must have had a server wipe again when you added the patch...because I was up in Stary fully geared in 1.3.0...1.3.1...on the coast...and no gear spawning....but plenty of zombies.
  6. Too many zombies

Of course should I even point out that 'realism' and 'zombies' kinda...don't fit...but I I mean realistically zombies would not be a problem to anyone with a gun...but since DayZ zombies are all cheaters and glitch all over the place its sorta hard to hit them with any consistency...lol THE ZOMBIE NUMBERS ARE TOO DAMN HIGH!
  7. Too many zombies

I think the issues with the zombies is 2 fold...I like having lots of them but at the same time the fact you kill one and it seems 2 more respawn in their place...so there is no feeling that you ever make any progress. The range on their attack has increased to a very unrealistic length...mostly because they can hit through walls...and of course with the increased number of zombies more will walk through walls, and attack you. I fired 1 round from a pistol and pulled about 40 zombies in a town I was alone in...and they came through the walls and killed me...at least 9 of them.
  8. Fishing?

But having a boat should increase your chances for larger fish and more fish.
  9. Bush Craft

This is more of me wondering if anyone thinks its possible...but I would really love to see some Bush Craft in this mod. Of course not everyone would be a bush craft expert after the Shit hits the fan, but out of necessity is born invention. People figure out ways to make things easier for them and easier to survive. This includes making items needed to survive. Like a Primitive shelter, primitive means of starting fires, primitive weapons for hunting, snares and other traps, makeshift fishing poles from sticks and cordage, containers to hold water, using scavenged items from structures to make better bush shelters, traps...ect. Is anything like this even possible? Would there be a way to make it to where people learned these skills through trial and error? I mean it would be silly to have everyone being able on Day One to be able to do everything that someone who has been trained for years to do... Would also be cool if you could make clothing from hides taken from animals, or to use the hides as part of the shelter, or even a rain fly. The addition of more bush craft could not only enhance the game, but make some times be less and less frequent...like matches can run out, get wet/damaged...ect...just spit balling...but if there was a way to make the essential items for survival harder to find and rely more on makeshift methods that would be greater... I am a student of Bush Craft here in Montana, and know quite a bit myself and could help fine tune things and ideas ect...just wish I was better at programming because I would just do it myself. So there it is...Bush Craft or not? Cuss and discuss this!
  10. Fishing?

As someone whose character is a fishing boat captain I would live to actually be able to fish. I mean there is plenty of coastlines and lakes to fish in...even ponds have fish. Would be cool to catch saltwater fish via nets or even setting like crab pots or lobster traps...that people could raid and steal! Plus you could make a fishing pole easy with cordage and a stick and even make your own hooks. We need more bush craft stuff in this mod anyway. Seems a shame to kill a cow and not use it's hide!
  11. //OOC this is a play on the real story of the USS Indianapolis, that went down in 1945, this is my version for my character, who plays a survivor of that ship. *On the deck, 3 empty whiskey bottles toss around, as Quint staggers around to get his footing. It was not the sea that was doing him in, but rather the whiskey in his system. He staggers off the ship and builds a fire, around the fire sits Mace, Sweet Joe, and Ranger...he leans in.. and points out to a nearby island where you could see part of a ship sticking out of the water...* Most of the crew came down with the sickness a week after we left Utes. It was comin' back, from the island, just delivered a shipment. The Patient Zero shipment. We tried to contain the sick that were now undead but a fire broke out and we ran aground near this island here. Eleven hundred men went into the water. Vessel went down in twelve minutes. Didn't see the first zombie for about a half an hour.A biter, must have been quite hungry. You know how you know that when you're in the water, chief? You tell by lookin' at their teeth…gnashing. What we didn't know... was our shipment mission had been so secret, no distress signal had been sent. Huh huh. They didn't even list us overdue for a week. Very first light, chief. The zombies come cruisin'. So we formed ourselves into tight groups. You know it's... kinda like ol' squares in battle like a, you see on a calendar, like the battle of Waterloo. And the idea was, the zombie comes to the nearest man and that man, he'd start poundin' and hollerin' and screamin' and sometimes the zombie would go away. Sometimes he wouldn't go away. Sometimes that zombie, he looks right into you. Right into your eyes. You know the thing about a zombie, he's got...lifeless eyes, black eyes, like a doll's eye. When he comes at ya, doesn't seem to be livin'. Until he bites ya and those black eyes roll over white. And then, ah then you hear that terrible high pitch screamin' and the ocean turns red and spite of all the poundin' and the hollerin' they all come in and rip you to pieces. Y'know by the end of that first dawn, lost a hundred men! I don't know how many zombies, maybe a thousand! I don't know how many men, they averaged six an hour. On Thursday mornin' chief, I bumped into a friend of mine, Jed Bridger from Montana . Football player, boson's mate. I thought he was asleep, reached over to wake him up. Bobbed up and down in the water, just like a kinda top. Up ended. Well... he'd been bitten in half below the waist. Noon the fifth day, a little bird chopper flew over, he swung in low and he saw us. He's a young pilot, a lot younger than Mr. Mace, anyway he saw us and come in low. And three hours later a big fat Fishing boat comes down and start to pick us up. You know that was the time I was most frightened? Waitin' for my turn. I'll never put on a lifejacket again. So, eleven hundred men went in the water, three hundred and sixteen men come out, the zombies took the rest, June the 29, 2012. Anyway, we delivered the shipment. //OOC for full immersion play this song while reading http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zmwTFggQ850 //I have A LOT more Sea Stories, Ghost Stories that I will be sharing IN GAME mostly...but I thought I would give you all a taste here, and a good laugh (For those of you who get it) and to give you an idea of the kind of role playing I plan on doing from now on. So keep an eye out for me in Server 2 if you want to hear these stories!
  12. The Lonely Lighthouse Keeper

Well you know this makes ole Quint a happy fella. It will be nice to have someone share in the coastal lure that I have come to know and love. I still have plenty of work for you on the Orca or the Bear (my other ship), but its good that you have found something to keep busy. //I wish there was a way we could power up the light houses...that would be something really fun to do at night, to sail from lighthouse, to lighthouse and tend to them. But there is something I need to be telling you about that very light house that you may want to think twice about...she is haunted. The old light house keeper hung himself there during the winter of '12 and his body was not found till the spring. There are some say that he did not do it himself, and that some other did. I have seen with my very eyes the ghostly shadows moving about that light house at night, it says to me that its the old light house keeper coming to tend the lights...that no longer work. He was a drinking man, and I knew him well and he will do you no harm, as long as you stay true to your word and keep the lighthouse safe. You will know when he is around because he will leave empty whiskey bottles about. I will be happy to get you established, and help keep you supplied, in turn you will work for me and help me tend to things out at sea. I also have started to make my own Rum and Whiskey...so you can help me drink it since it won't drink it self! I will tell you more about the story over the fire, and some whiskey, along with some of the other stories about these waters. Like the Grey Man(Local story from my child hood), the crew of the Minneapolis (My Version of the USS Indianapolis, Flight 19, The Mary Celeste, The Edmund Fitzgerald, and some stories of Pirates and loads more (OOC Some of these will be true stories, and some will be historical fiction...but I do have lots of stories that I would love to share that involve the sea)
  13. // This is the role play section of the forums isn't it? LOL
  14. You know I have come up with a rather sadistic way to kill people and have been saving it for the right kind if moment. This sounds perfect and I'd like to offer a hand if you like..lol

I am generally on or near the frequency range of the Free Medics.
