Born in Queens and raised all over New York state, went to college upstate, and came back to the city to work. This young man never had a taste of life outside of the States until he took a trip with a couple of frat buddies to Russia and Chernarus as part of an adrenaline-seeking agenda. His trip took him into the week that martial law was instated in Chernarus, which lead to him remaining in the country up to now. He was unable to escape, and now he remains stuck in South Zagoria.
Bogdan is a young man from Vyshnoye born to Andrei Sukhoi and Ekaterina Sukhoi. He grew up in his humble birthplace, however eventually moved to Mogilevka to finish his schooling. He was one of the unfortunates that grew up during the unstable civil unrest era of recent history, his father was a fighter for the ChDKZ in the war for a time until he lost his legs during an airstrike.
Growing up in the ChDKZ-favored post-war Chernarus had its quirks, but Bogdan made it to college in pursuit of higher education. Going to Chernogorsk for his degree in Aerospace Engineering to take abroad meant he would take English as a second language course. He often carpooled with one of his childhood friends, Leonid, from the beginning. To this day, through college and now through an outbreak of the Frenzy Flu, he survives alongside Leonid to weather the hard road ahead.
Indeed. What both Crows and Darth said. In recent times, people have even made work boots out of cowboy boots by keeping the leather areas the way they are, but giving them more grip on the sole, and reinforcing the construction of the boot as a whole. Considering all the american characters we see in Livonia and Chernarus, I don't think it's outside the realm of possibility that we would see some cowboy boots or cowboy-work-boots for that matter.
Functionally, cowboy boots can work similarly to wellies. Though, their original purpose was related to horseback riding. They don't have laces because laces could get caught in the stirrups and such and get the rider trampled. However, they're a fashion staple in the American Southwest and plenty of people still wear them daily or use them as work boots, as I said before. Both me and my brother in law do, in fact.
Edit: Upon a cursory search of the internet for cases of Europeans wearing cowboy boots, I also found that plenty of people (especially those who own and ride horses in Europe) apparently wear cowboy boots as well. Thus, I think that it is far from impossible to see boots like these in Livonia and even in Chernarus.
Edit: Some pictures of jeans and cowboy boots to highlight why they would be a perfect fit for the DayZRP Community.
See spoiler above ^^
We've got cowboy hats and denim jackets, but we don't have any cowboy boots. I think it would be really cool to see black and brown variants, with a choice between dull and shiny in the color options specifically. Furthermore, I think it would be cool to see the different types of boots in-game as well. For example, square toe, rounded toe, and pointed toe.
A man began broadcasting from somewhere far to the southwest. His voice is immediately noticeable as American, specifically from the northern midwest United States to those with a good ear.
"Pathfinders, I'd like to meet with you if possible. I'm interested in possibly joining you folks. Give me a location on 88.9 if you can. Thank you."
The broadcast ended rather promptly.
Kenneth's tent was pattered with a gentle downpour characteristic of Livonia as he bit his lip, looking at his handheld radio patiently. The speaker emitted the voices of the outraged and the confident, turning into an almost comical arrangement of commentary and debate. His lip furled downward into a grimace. Eventually, he heard the droning sound of voices fall off and he pressed the button on the side of his radio.
"Such pitiful excuses of humans speaking today. I remember when the Wolf Pack was just a litter of puppies with a loud bark. Unique in some ways to the rest of the militias that have formed since, though in the end always acting in a similar fashion. Actions speak louder than words, many don't seem to understand this basic concept. Preaching justice and peace to no end while you slaughter carelessly and take what does not belong to you. We offer an armistice in the midst of a needlessly violent conflict, and you spit at our feet. How easily you show your own hypocritical nature while you drone on sanctimoniously over your radio. The people of these ravaged countries have bore witness to the Corporation being nothing but a benefactor and a savior, yet so many tell lies and drag our name through the dirt. For what? Perhaps some misguided soul gathering support to keep the local populace suppressed so that they may never find the truth, and salvation.
"Thousands of men and women have lost their lives, their bodies, their minds, because of your thoughtless attacks on our compounds. Some were directed to provide security for our operations, and some were designated as simple workers, builders, earning a wage so that their families in the quarantine zones could remain safe and sound. Far from the likes of you who have nothing but bullets and blades to offer. Your attempts at destroying the only effort to rebuild will never succeed, and the casualties you inflict will only result in innocent families being left fatherless and motherless. Furthermore, we will always have more people to come and try to assist the unfortunate among you and continue to rebuild. For a better tomorrow."
Kenneth let go of the button at long last, setting it aside.
I concur with @About400Crows. We've been working toward this goal since last April in fact. We personally would never throw up a griefing report over removing a wall from the wells. The goal's purpose is to spark more conflict and therefore more RP in the server, not get people banned. This should be taken as 100% in-character. Though, I expect we'll be having more visitors at the compound soon enough as a result.
+1. Being in a KOSable group I can confirm people generally prefer to roleplay over KOS us. I feel like it'll be the same on the airfield, but there's always going to be the thought in the back of your mind that you could get capped at any moment.
@Hofer Thought I had taken care of it, let me check again. Thanks for letting me know.
Removed @Francis Higgins. Hope to see you again, it was fun!
Removed @GaryCash. Forgot to remove him from the roster last time!
Promoted @MiniDelvin, @Parzival, and @Sorotiv.
Congratulations to our new soldiers, keep up the good work.
I feel like it's because of all of the military locations on the west side of the map. Go figure, huh? Unfortunately people will go where the RP is. If someone went out to the East, they would essentially never get interaction. When the Saviors were in Novodmitrovsk, it brought a lot of attention to that side of the map, though. I think all it takes is one big group moving their hub in that direction.
I like the idea for RP and the aesthetic, but similar to the biker jackets they shouldn't be the most common items. Biker gangs exist worldwide, but it's a distinctly American culture as far as the kinds of MCs we see on the server. Hope it gets accepted, though! Would be cool to see a group of big guys with their cuts on.
I demand that at least one of your members wears it over a light blue denim jacket.
As everyone else has been saying, this has been voted on in the past and received overwhelming negativity. I myself voted no last time, and I'll vote no again. However, when I'm in a group that is KOS-able and we're running in a big enough group, I make my members put their armbands on if they want to run with the posse. It's what we do in the Corp, and it's what I plan to do in the Peacebreakers once we gain enough members to have a decent size group. Sorry, but I have to say no.
A big time jump would be sick. Weapons spawn in bad condition and have to be cleaned and repaired, there could be an ammunition-reloading process to replace scavenging for boxes of ammo (which I assume would be rare after such a long time and considering how much shooting goes down even in the span of two years), melee becomes a standard for 90% of the server as a result, have cars spawn with bad condition parts or no parts at all, etc. I feel like there would be less hostileRP as a result, but interaction and diplomacy would be more encouraged since you can't have Ivan Ivanovich in the treeline with an SVD trained on your enemy's head without the gun repair kits and ammo to service and feed the rifle.
tl;dr I think this could make the roleplay a lot more interesting, reminiscent of Dying Light 1 and 2. Also, ammo-reloading pls.
Thanks, Phoenyxx! I hope to see you around on the server more often, I feel like our two groups could have some great experiences together. Also, a big thank you for the graphics! They look amazing. Be seein' ya'!
- So much more!
Thanks to @PhoenyxxRP for the beautiful graphics!
