  1. Question about a hostage situation

Isnt it enough initiation that we all started to doubt his story? I did say that I think he is lying, a couple of times, but I didnt give him time to stand up and do anything about it. Do I need to verbally ask "may I handcuff you?" or say "I am now handcuffing you because I dont believe you.."? When I was dead, I heard Mike shouting "who is shooting!?" and "run *the name of the 3rd person at the scene*!". If it wasnt bluff, the shooter(s) were not his pals. Ill ask him about it before I take this any further. Thanks for the reply! What he means is, handcuffing someone is a hostile action and before you can do a hostile action you need to first initiate on the person first. An initiations is stating a demand and a consequence if demand is not met. For example, you could have told him "Ok put your hands above your head right now or you will be shot". If he complied then you could have handcuffed him but at the same time he would still of kos rights on your because an initiation is a hostile action. So no...you didn't initiate Ok I see. I think I misunderstood the roleplay>ruleplay thing. (I thought I could make a demand after the handcuffing, as I would do IRL in a situation like this) My bad! Still wanna find out what happened to Mike and who was behind the shooting.. Thanks to everyone for replying, learning has occurred here! You can mark this solved.

  3. Question about a hostage situation

Hello DayzRP community! I have a question concerning the first gunplay situation I was in. It happened last night. I was looking for supplies with my RP brother Byttic. We had heard that there was survivors at Green Mountain and we headed there in the dark of the night, in seek of shelter and food. When we arrived, there was 3 players sitting at a campfire. I made a cautious entry, making contact with the fellas. They seemed friendly so I yelled my brother, doing overwatch, to come too. We then sat at the campfire for some time, exchanging stories and information. After a while, 2 of them had left the server with everyones permission. Then another dude came by. He was called Mike Alpha.. he told us that hes a tourist that had come to South Zagoria just before the events that occurred in October. On a side note, he was fully military geared, carrying a Steyr AUG. When asked, he told us he has no military background. These two details made me (and my brother and the 3rd fella) very suspicious. He also said that hes chinese, but had lived in GB for a couple of years, and thats why he speaks so fluent english. The background details didnt really add up so me and my brother decided to take action. I stood up and quickly tied Mike Alpha's hands with metal wire, telling him Im not buying his story. He started asking what am I doing and I didnt even have time to answer when I got shot in the head. It was someone else, someone who hadnt been at the campfire. My RP bro Byttic was also shot simultaneously. He had drawn his weapon for security, but neither of us did point them at Mike or the 3rd fella. My question is: was the killing justified or not? Should I make a report of this? I have read the rules but Im not sure if this is a case of baiting (Mike Alpha was a bait for his squad?) or if there was someone totally different just witnessing what might have seemed to be hostile action from me and my bro. Is it ok to shoot at someone (KOS) if you just witness him taking a hostage?
