People need to stop looking for any reason to execute their hostage. A good hostage taker never starts off with "If you talk shit, you die". You always build up to that, never start with it. Starting off with that demand makes it harder for the hostage to even RP other than being a submissive dog or whatever. If you aim your gun at someone and threaten their life, of course they're going to be mad at you. Don't stifle their RP attempts just because you want an easy out of the hostage situation. Killing should absolutely be a last resort; it ends the RP right then and there, and the people who die aren't even allowed to remember what happened, basically making it as if that entire situation didn't even happen. A mouthy hostage should absolutely be punished in game, but if you want them to ACTUALLY send a message to them and their group, you torture them and beat them. Don't just kill them because you can't be fucked to roleplay. And another thing that should be absolutely last resort is false report verdicts. These used to be few and far between, 1. because it was difficult to prove whether or not the report was put up with malicious intent and 2. because you have to prove that information was intentionally left out of the report or that the OP was lying or skewing things to make the situation seem worse. These days, false report verdicts seem to be getting more and more common. That's not a good thing. It's just another example of the standards of the staff team slipping below what is acceptable. Mistakes are ok, the staff team are human afterall. But at this point, so many mistakes are being made by the GM team that something needs to be done by the admins, the people supposed to be the community leaders. Standards need to be raised.

Hello there! Here to leave some feedback from myself and on behalf of the rest of the Toymakers. First off, allow me to congratulate you guys on the great feedback you have been receiving so far, you guys are definitely deserving it. Now, we think you guys are doing very well currently, as your RP with myself and the rest of the Toymakers yesterday and the day prior has been very enjoyable for all of us. We're loving your guys' investigation in regards to finding James, the man who shot doctor Shock. We also enjoy how you guys are trying to promote a sense of law and order, when telling Alyssa that James would stand trial, instead of being directly handed over to Alyssa, and giving her the chance to be part of that trial. You're all being very proactive in creating RP while sticking true to your goals and what the UN is and what it stands for, and that especially showed when Needle and Alyssa were about to be kicked out of the camp, but in turned into a 50/50 split for us to leave and for us to stay, with the UN guys present staying neutral and just trying to keep the peace and prevent an escalation, like true peacekeepers. It was also really nice to see you guys out in full force at the camp as well, as I think I counted around 6-8 of you there at one point. Furthermore, I would personally like to commend @Hollows on your stellar medical RP. You're clearly either well researched, or work in a medical field, because the amount of detail was very nice, and I enjoyed RPing out my characters hesitancy during the operation on Hunter. Keep it up man! TLDR: We're all very happy with your guys' RP, and look forward to RPing with you guys more!

Tbh if Sonic the Hedgehog initiated on me, told me to suck dick and then gassed me after 47 seconds of shit talking, I'd probably throw up a report too. Say what you want about the validity of the kills but there was so much more to that report than just the hostages dying, which seems to have just been glossed over like nothing else matters.

Why are hostages required to wait a CL timer if there’s no kill rights on them? Edit: @Zanaan @Roland surely it’s no more complicated than thinking “have I done anything to give them rights?” If the answer is yes, wait your 30, if not, you’re free to log after breaking LoS. I would also like to hear your opinion on the matter Zanaan and not a copy/paste response.

The whole "keep your fucking mouth shut" argument to kill someone is fucking weak. It's called roleplay. Deal with it in roleplay. After multiple instances of snarky behaviour? Yeah sure, I'll give you that one. After a few seconds? Fuck no. I know that multiple staff members are involved in verdicts, but having a friend write the actual thing is a big fucking no. If I had ANY reason to be called biased in a report (even if I wasn't involved in a group with the individuals) you bet your ass I wouldn't be touching it with a ten foot poll. There are lots of ways to be biased and they're not always as simple as being in an approved group with one another. There are more than enough reports to get your activity up somewhere else, than handling ones with friends in them. False report? That one is getting thrown around a lot more than it used to. Used to mean when someone put up a report for the sole purpose of being petty and when it's clear no rule break was done. I don't see that here. There were multiple instances in which there were potential rule breaks, and reporting someone on such potential rule breaks should not be punishable. I mean... Isn't the staff slang still "if you feel there was a rule break, put up a report"?

Blackness cloaked the atmosphere, only broken by the twinkling blanket of stars across the Chernarussian sky. Ivona looked out her infirmary window, stopping her reading for only a moment to do so. Staring into the infinite void, she sighed contently. The movement of the words jumping out on the paper, her voice carrying them into the cold wind on a whisper. “Once upon a midnight dreary, while I pondered, weak and weary, Over many a quaint and curious volume of forgotten lore, While I nodded, nearly napping, suddenly there came a tapping, As of some one gently rapping, rapping at my chamber door. Tis some visitor, I muttered, tapping at my chamber door — Only this, and nothing more." A rough voice that she hadn't expected interrupted her thoughts, "Hey lady, will you shut the fuck up?" The thick Chernarussian verbiage cut through the air like a sharp knife. Instinctively, she jumped in her wooden chair, clutching the book to her chest as she was rudely interrupted. Her facial features morphed from surprise to disdain as ice blues looked over the man in the infirmary bed. His prison outfit was dirty, covered in dried blood from his earlier scuffle --the reason he was here visiting the prison's nurse in the first place. She smiled sweetly, speaking in the foreign tongue, "You're here on my time, yes? I stitched up your stomach, and I will gladly un-stitch it..." Ivona walked towards the clipboard with his name on it, reading it over before her eyes quickly flicked back up to him, "...Mr.Poplovich." He scoffed, and it made her blood boil, muttering incoherent cuss words. Though her composure remained frozen, something wrathful in her twitched -- longing for the opportunity to present itself. It didn't take long though, when she noticed his eyes rake over her form --that familiar hungry expression she was all too used to seeing -- she gave into the dark depths. "If you don't like my reading... I suggest we pass the time some other way." Her malice painted a grotesque smile on her face. "Do you want to know what my favourite thing about this job is?" With lithe movements, she lifted herself atop of his infirmary bed, putting one leg over the other to straddle his waist. Ivona watched the surprise in his eyes meet a lopsided, ugly grin. Men were easy. Her hands moved to her blouse, slowly unbuttoning the cotton material until she was bare before him, cloth in hand. "The handcuffs." Her head bobbed over to his hands, restrained as per standard procedure among the Chernarussian prison. Still stupidly naive, he chuckled dumbly. Wriggling underneath her as he tried adjusting the tightening prison regulated pants, his mouth opened to say something foul likely, but was cut short. Ivona took the opportunity to forcefully shove the cotton in his mouth, using his confusion to her advantage as she managed to get the majority of the fabric in his big mouth before his teeth tried clamping down on her. Removing her fingers, she leaned back and looked at her work. The faint sign of fear that reflected in his brown eyes was blissful. She looked towards the pillow, but that idea ultimately unsatisfied her. No, she wanted to keep watching that look... that pure, perfect panic. Ivona cracked her fingers playfully, before running a long nail against his throat. He tried to yell out, the sound muffled by the shirt obstructing his vocal chords. Ivona chuckled lightly, watching his throat with a psychotic intent, "I'd love to bruise up your neck... but... people might start asking some really nasty questions. I like this job too much for that, I hope you know. So... I'm gonna have to strangle you some other way..." His arms and legs pulled on their binds, his torso bucking as best as it could but to no real avail at how the conversation had turned. He screamed out, louder this time... yet not nearly loud enough. Her hand came up to her face to muffle the sick laughter that tried to bubble out of her, and when it did she pulled away to look at her hand like it was some revelation. "Oh! Of course!" Gleeful were her words as she pinched his nose tightly with one hand, and clamped her other over his mouth. The blonde leaned towards him, a twisted grin on her face as she watched the despair flood his features. His eyes watered, the cause of which unknown to her, but she could only surmise it was from the vision of his life flashing before his eyes. The darkness deep in her core felt relieved, happy even at the sight of him. The man's head bobbed from side to side, which was annoying at first, but ultimately just caused her grip to tighten. It only took a few moments anyway, for his movements to slow, and his eyelids to flicker. Frowning, upset that her show had ended so quickly as his eyelids closed. The nurse held onto him for a while, knowing with her medical prowess that it would take some additional time before he was good and dead. A check of his pulse determined his time of death, and when her work was good and finished, she jumped off of the bed with a satisfied huff. She took the shirt from his mouth and throat, throwing it in a nearby laundry basket. It was a messy job on the best of days, and a clean pair of clothes was a necessity. Ivona turned to a nearby locker, taking the freshly cleaned shirt -- it still smelled of lavender -- and tossed it over her head with one last smile.

What @Jackfish says there really rings true for me. The first time I watched the video I had to watch it three times over before I had a solid concept of who was saying what. I also just rewatched it and counted, the total initiation was 44 seconds long. Typically speaking you may say that's enough time to raise your hands and drop your weapon, but that wasn't the ONLY demand of the captors. They were also asking them to go into the Discord and communicate orders through there. Which takes additional time. Multiple people were talking, which is confusing in hostile situations for someone trying to comply. Also... From what I watched, it's pretty obvious that Jackfish is complying in ADDITION to saying "fuck you". He had his gun in his hands, put one hand up, told them he was putting a hand down to put his gun away, put his gun away, raised both hands, and also communicated over the radio intentions of his captors. So... He was following direct orders, and was perfectly compliant, yet still trying to roleplay his character. The "fuck you" is about the least dangerous thing in the world to say... The immediate danger was in his hands, and he put that away. Now, I don't know any of the accused's roleplay, I don't know them personally either, so I can't say for certain. BUT I'd say it's a pretty solid bet with the way the characters interacted with one another, that if the shoe was on the other foot, they wouldn't have been grovelling either. It was pretty damn confrontational, and just regular ol' big dicking from everyone involved. So this whole "talk shit get hit" mentality just doesn't jive well with me. Anyone saying that they haven't EVER sassed a captor is probably lying, or just doesn't remember.

I am going to have to agree with @YNW Jasper maybe staff do need a refresher, look at the above, that is just baffling and it's being dealt with by experienced staff members and the Co-Owner of the server. The poor man doesn't even fire a shot and is banned for KoS.

The main issue here is that you didn't comply with Jim's demand. He told you a couple of times to put one hand up and then you told him "Fuck you". If I am given a clear demand to a guy like hands up or gun on the floor multiple times and his response is "Fuck you", then I have all the reasons in the world to shoot him.

When you're off break or have the free time to do so, you might want to look back over that report again Rolle. Might be worth looking over again. I didn't go over it with a fine tooth comb or anything but yeah I personally disagree with that verdict and plenty of others do as well. I don't think all the disagreement over the verdict is over nothing either. A couple posts and pages of replies to them? Yeah I'd say go back over it and double check. IIRC in the video they're told something like "Don't call us ____ again or else", then told to do something, while @Jackfish is doing said thing or about to do so he says "Fuck you" and is immediately domed by one of the accused. Then they're fired upon by the OP of the reports party and @Ryan Shepherd is killed as he was told that if they were shot at he would die. Now whether that was a valid kill or not (I don't think it was) I don't see how in any way shape or form that deserves false report. It was not a report made with malicious intent. It was not a report they made knowing it had zero validity. Thus, it shouldn't be a false report, no?

Overuse of "shut up or i'll kill you" isn't roleplay, Your hostage isn;'t going to enjoy the RP as much if they're forced to be quiet. Roleplay is a two way street and suppressing it unnecessarily kills RP for one side. False report? This is supposed to be used for petty, absolutely non-contentious report verdicts where it is so blatantly clear the OP is just looking to get somebody banned with 0 merit to their argument. To have contentious points and be hit with false report, especially after being told to report this, is fucking ridiculous and laughable. What a joke of a verdict. "If you feel a rule has been broken, put a report up" ---> Lol get fucked false report. What a joke, how far has the team sank to be actually telling people to put reports up and then slamming them with false report OVER RULEBREAKS THAT CAN BE ARGUED.

It's pretty clear as day that a majority of the community does not stand behind the false report and believe the bad RP punishment was severe and unwarranted. Hopefully the staff that wasn't involved in the original appeal can come to a quick conclusion and get him back in game. So Rolle doesn't have to take time off his vacay to do so. @DrMax @Zanaan @Onyx @lukaszxe we look to you in these troubled times.

I would like to leave some feedback about this new era of the UN I have seen some of you come to Camp Eden for the past 2-3 days and I must say I am VERY Impressed with the Roleplay that has come with it. You guys have helped resolve issues, treated people who were hurt e.g. me, and got information which is actually useful for different kind of story arcs. I've only seen UN once before on my previous character Aiden Carmine and that was for a day but I can tell this new UN cares about the Roleplay they bring out and it has been getting better every day. Keep it up, lads.

The strange thing is let's say there is an issue with the verdict that needs to get overlooked or overturned yeah? Why does Roland who is trying to enjoy his vacation have to deal with it? Are the admins and other GMs not qualified enough to handle such issues if they exist?

Smile, he's watching. Six AM, time to wake up. Don't jostle the bed, keep bare feet soft against the hardwood. Breakfast must be on the table by seven. Do not eat until he is done, or has invited you to join him. Dishes washed up immediately following breakfast, laundry done by nine, dust and sweep before eleven. Lunch by noon on the dot, plan for guests - there are always guests. Be present but not visible. Be charming but don't speak unless spoken to. Pray business goes his way, affection is soon to follow. It's not personal when he's angry, he needs an outlet and you're strong enough to endure. No one will ever love you but him. You're lucky he puts up with you. Look at all he's given to you, done for you, you should be grateful. This is what you deserve.

Combat logging has never, ever applied to those logging out when they were a hostage, as long as they hadn't given their captors kill rights throughout the interaction. The way the rule is worded now DOES state that ANYONE involved in the scenario can't log out until 30 minutes after. Which is a load of bullshit in my honest opinion. Why on earth would the hostage NEED to stay on for those 30 minutes when they've been perfectly compliant? There's literally no difference if a hostage logs out after the scenario, than me logging out after I've talked to a group of people just five minutes before. Just boggles my mind.

Attention, beanz farm incoming: @Brayces - I decided to start this love train after reading your obvious bean farm. Its been great RPing with you again, even on a limited basis. I've missed you quite a bit and the batteries gave me an excuse to come and try out something different, which you've helped me enjoy immensely through excellent fear RP and trusting us to do right by you and your friends. @Stagsview - I didn't like you at first, still have my misgivings but you've given me an opportunity and an experience in RP that I've seldom been afforded. You don't let your ego get in the way of RP, you genuinely care about everybody else's experience and, in my view, have been a quality leader despite your hectic real life schedule. @AndreyQ - You're hilarious in-game and out of game, I really enjoy being around you both IG and out of game, discussing reports, bantering about the community and trying to come up with new memes for the media thread. I'm genuinely glad the batteries gave us an opportunity to become friends. @Kordruga - Sleeper squad my man. What more is there to say? You've got great ideas for RP, you're a memer and its pretty safe to say Vlad has made himself right at home in the batteries. Keep it up ranger @Aiko - Honestly after that chance meeting outside the Galapagos camp, I never expected us to RP as extensively as we have or to enjoy it as much. RPing your way into the group was incredibly believable, I enjoy you as a person OOC and what RP you can generate and facilitate to make things as fun as possible for the people around you. You've been an invaluable friend over the last month and I can't wait to see what else we're gonna cook up together. @Lyca - Same as Aiko, except we've RP'd together for years now and the last month-ish has been some of the most memorable RP we've had together IMO. From recruiting you as a spy, to fostering a tenuous relationship through the use of comfort, to all the adventures and problems we've had IC, its been a blast helping solve/create new problems for each other. @Craig - Huehuehuehuehuehuehuehuehue @Smixxa - You're a treasure, come back to us

Literally made the suggestion last month in a thread quoted above and then posted in "ask staff" why people weren't being asked if they wanted to continue a report when staffs opinion was there were no rulebreaks. YOU NEED TO BE DOING THIS. I'm sorry if this offends anyone who worked on that verdict, but you are doing it wrong. Slamming someone for writing a report, when they feel it is a rulebreak, is a horrendous mindframe and frankly everyone involved in the ok of that verdict should be ashamed. You need to give people an out in those situations, not an auto ban. It screams of staff bias (once again) and makes people afraid to report rule breaks because of the dangerous precedence set in this report. I'm sorry purple team, but you are better than that.

I see multiple issues from both parties in all honesty: 1 - Neither of the two being initiated on showed that they were in any threat, sure, this can be justified by knowing a group has there backs, or previous interactions how they went etc etc, but in the end, you have a gun to your head. Some emotion is needed, unless everyone plays the same kind of character who has none. The "fuck you" was well funny, just maybe not the best reaction in that scenario. 2 - Both parties were clearly waiting for backup. Hence the chase, trying to meetup somewhere. On an OOC level, everyone knew it would turn into a firefight, that generally imo has a negative effect on the RP. 3 - Having one person running around in circles isn't realistic at all. It almost feels like your trying to communicate with a randomer on a pub server. The same goes for running around in circles right before initiating. That's pretty low, and I would consider that bad RP. 4 - The executions were a bit hasty in my opinion. It's quick and easy to say things like: "If we start taking shots, you are dead tell that to your guys" (paraphrasing obviously). It's a nice card to play, but maybe after some actual RP. Letting tensions build in these kind of scenarios can move the RP forward. Instead of killing one of you for speaking, a quick beating with a gun to the others head could have been more interesting, putting the both of you on your knees in front of the others in the bushes to see, trying to communicate over radio, etc etc. The kills just seemed to be the easiest path, once again, because everyone knew a firefight would break out. 5 - False report is a bit much here. In a case where there are clearly no rule-breaks sure, however the RP received (and given) is questionable, and needs to be taken into consideration. I fully understand why this behaviour was reported. 6 - Having a friend of the accused handling the report doesn't help. It would have been nice to see a non-biased staff member (if possible) do that report instead.

I will give my general opinion not relating in particular to the report in question. The reporting process is a necessity in this community to define acceptable standards of role play and challenge those who go beyond what is permitted in the rules. If a person genuinely believes that there was a potential rule break, whether they are right or wrong, they should be able to report without fear of being banned themselves. I believe that in order to be punished for a false report, the intent must be proved to be malicious and the grounds for the report clearly unfounded. In my opinion, the implementing of a false report verdict should be exercised with extreme caution and only in exceptional circumstances because of the potential to create animosity in the community and a reluctance to report in future.
