Special thanks to @yuthee @MrDew @Jadeboat @Walnuts @JkpFrog for the wonderful RP tonight. Always a pleasure to run into you Yuthee, missed RP with you terribly, you have Robbie on edge already! Dew, been a long time, always great to see Fletcher, hopefully run into you again! Jadeboat, you're going to either wind up being another older sister to Robbie, or another puppy dog crush, calling it now. Walnuts, I've never cut a mans head open with a can opener before, thank you for the first time! JkpFrog, always getting injured everytime I see you, but always great to see how far you've come along in our time of RP and your injury RP is superb.

Wow, what a day, a long ass, roleplay filled day. First off, big shout out to @HeyItsGrimm, @duxpredator, @RiZStream, and the rest of the Mac Tire boys for meeting with Teddy and letting him tag along. Dux, as always, Sauce is nothing but a pleasure to interact with and I'm very excited to see where his and Teddy's friendship goes. @PandaOG, that was the most unexpected blast from the past ever. It was honestly really cool to see a person Teddy saved still alive and kicking, months later, as well as just shooting the shit over the old times of the Saviors and all. Also want to thank @MrDew and our two travel compatriots for a fun road trip, alongside Lev, whose last name I forgot and as a result, whose forum name I cannot find. That little shred of humanity our characters shared made me smile. All in all, a great day that left me excited for the next.

Oh my god. I just love my Toy Maker people, hahaha. It was so good running into you guys. I really love the tension with you guys, it's so much fun. I wasn't totally sure of everyone that was there, but definitely @Roman, @ScarletRose, & @yuthee I know for a fact were there! Lots of internal RP today with my lovely, lovely Gen Z people. Also had a really fun interaction with those of the Chedaki that I met today!

@Roman you fucking legendary beast. Sorry for calling you old. But you scare the shit out of me. Thank your excellent people for the short but intense interaction. I've been informed that @ScarletRose, @yuthee were also there (sorry I am missing others), absolutely brilliant. Thank you. @Derek Steel Viggo is fantastic, a pleasure rolling with you.

Before we start, a fair warning: this thread will contain alot of digging of old wounds. If you don't like dwelling on the past, i'd recommend skipping this entirely. Back when i joined in 2012, DayZRP started out as a small, vanilla DayZ Mod Arma II server. It had very minimal modification, was open to the public, and seemed to work in a fairly regular DayZ Mod server at the time. Very minimal enforcing that i could see from running around the coast, but it gave me the first taste of interaction with people, albeit not as immersive as it was to come. Rolling around with a couple of innocent folk, being sniped at by somebody with a M107, even getting briefly banned after picking up an AS-50 that somehow had spawned underneath me while hiding from the sniper behind a tree on the power-plant hill in Elektro. This was at the time when school and other early life things kept me busy, so i wasn't that active then. Fast forward few weeks/month or so, i returned, and that was when the first whitelists and dayz modifications were introduced to the server. It was slowly shaping up to what i consider 'the golden age of DayZRP.' The roleplay was slowly getting better, something you could easily believe. So many things happened back then: The introduction of CLF, one of my first groups that i joined on the server (which i flew out of due to real-life getting in the way, resulting in my inactivity) and the trade-post on Klen. I was a scared, young mind back then, still grasping into the true habits of roleplay. The offical DayZRP mod, that was when it all started to go up, really fast. The server was being noticed by a few fairly 'internet famous' people, most specifically, Frankieonpc1080p. Two servers were nearly full at peak times constantly, and lasting as far as into two-three am into the night (server time.) People were creating believable factions, with goals, even staff were parting to create lore and events for players to pariticpate and shape the outcome with. Player camps began to make shape into the world, from a pub placed on altar, a simple fenced off cabin at pobeda dam, to a sanctuary up in forests by the north eastern airfield. People were out to make their own stories, not worrying about how much gear or vehicles they were storing. Digging through the archives, you can still find these awesome stories to this day, lest some of them may have been lost during the forum transfer. Then the standalone was released. All seemed fine first in the couple months. But as the days went on, the mod servers stagnated. People started to migrate over to the new game, leaving the old behind. Development of the game first seemed bright, with nearly weekly updates. But then it slowed down. We tried options, Arma three servers, grand theft auto servers, even the supposed 'dayz killer' SCUM for a moment. I feel like this is the period where we began to slip up. No longer did groups feel like they were conflicting over their own beliefs or sights, but rather the simple material greed of gear. Gear suddenly became an importance for many, pushing roleplay aside for the sake of a better weapon. It happened in Arma 2's last days, it happened on Arma 3 when we tried it, to the point where people were completelly ignoring roleplay, simply to steal the nearby airdrop that had landed, from in front of other people with towing lines. All of this happening in about a minute, in and out, while people were still huddling around the box and talking to eachother. I lost interest to standalone at this time. I genuinely felt that this was not the DayZ anymore that i had enjoyed back in the days of '12-'14. As of such, iv'e only really reared my head about for the moments when arma three servers and the brief moment the mod were re-introduced, but no one was interested in them. No one wanted to know what it was like to play during the old days. I've never played since. Maybe a couple days on a strange week when i've found my friend was about, but no else. I cannot find the interest to try and immerse myself into an community, that cannot make itself seem immersive. People focus on issues of modern day society, mechanics and materials of a game more, while in-character, than they are trying to make their character's act seem believable. I feel like this is stupid to say but...i think people have forgotten what is it to roleplay. While any and all players' wishes should be respected while playing your character, you need to understand that you aren't you at the time the interaction is happening: You are your character. You are Nikolas Prusík, (or whom ever you may be named,) the simple farmer who lived and survived by sheer luck through inital infection, by hiding out in his farmhouse's cellar with nothing but his double-barreled hunting shotgun. Now meek of the new, brutal world, you find yourself mistrustful of other people, and how they might react with seeing a person. Fast forward weeks. You've a circle of friends you've made, and you've warmed up to the prospects of civilization again with some limitations, but along with their hazards of banditry. You huddle together within these places, talk to them, share information, stories, memories of the old world of the past, and the luxuries you may not have today. Then Jim, the foreigner american shows up, whom you've butted heads in the past, makes fun of you, and calls you with deragatory slurs to try and anger you. How would you react as a player? Do you..make a forum post, dragging the topic on for several pages before it is inevitably shut down for being derailed? Do you take the jab you've been given, and act accordingly, realizing it is all just part of the play, and part of the hostile environment you've been placed in? Or do you simply, if you by means find the word offensive, ask the person to stop with a single, out of character message? People seek drama, when they have none to enjoy themselves. Whenever it is by causing it, or simply watching it from the sides. This isn't something we should strive for however. I long for the days when mechanical items or weapons weren't of importance. We made do with what we had. What we focused instead of, was making our characters and groups believable, to the point they became stories people would chronicle to others about, and remember fondly, becuase they were there, and they watched it happen, whenever by supporting their cause, or simply being at their side when it did. That's the DayZRP i remember. Where do you believe we went wrong? That is the question i present to you all today. Keep the discussion respectful, for we've all got our own. 'Leave the door open' so to say.

Just add a check box to say they confirm they are over 16+ (preferably 18+) on the whitelist application. This might already be in place? So ignore this if it is (sorry at work haven't had chance to read all the replies). Yes they might lie but it covers the website/community if anything comes of it. Surely something is better than nothing.

@G19RP and company, The RP with our boys @HeyItsGrimm , @RiZStream , @JohnCrown , and myself was fun. My character is slowly starting to detach himself from Mac Tire because of the encounters he faces on a consistent basis. I enjoyed the banter we had with Jimmy before the drop. @RiZStreamI expressed my frustrations and plans moving forward with the way the group is going and I trust you kept that information to yourself. On a side note, it seems damn near impossible to find anyone anymore. Wish Camp Hope was still poppin'.

Can quite honestly say that my encounters with these people have been nothing but tense and nerve racking whilst on my own or otherwise. The tunnel vision focused on the group goals and spreading your beliefs through any means necessary is interesting and I look forward to the consequences of some of y'all decisions in the longer scheme of things. I can't really fault anything from the treatment I've been given in game and the RP I've witnessed and observed from a, very far, distance. Keep it up fella's and good luck.

I grew up and learned what the left actually do, and that "refugees" get away with crimes. Dont like that the left imports voters. Hey pay 30% of your income to taxes THEN ALL THE OTHER TAXES YOU GOTTA PAY. So that we can support more refugees. Sweden has a really high tax about 30% of your income and our healthcare are failing the police needs more police officers but the pay makes it into slave work. Then our army is just a joke atm, alot of our infrastructure needs alot of work to it. We pay so mutch in taxes and get so little back its so stupid. Lots of rule breaks can be solved with server logs alone, like NLR, CL, griefing, AoGM. People should feel to be free to report any situation which they feel was against the rules without any requirements or restrictions imposed.

A loooooooot of things that happened in the past 24 hours. Wowzers. @Peril Glad you came along with me yesterday! It was certainly something having met the people we met along the way, both new and those you knew from your character's past. Was definitely nice to see Theo meeting old friends and acquaintances he met in the recent and long past. Shame our journey didn't end with us three finding the treasure. @JkpFrog @Malthis @Walnuts @Jadeboat @yuthee First off - Had a brief short-trip down nostalgia alley the moment I met Ace as Fletcher (Again); Glad I stuck around! It was honestly nice to meet and see both new and familiar faces once more, hope sometime down the road I run into any of you all again!

Hi, ran into you guys tonight for some very interesting RP. The initial meeting was really cool. It left me wondering the whole time, what is going on here? Kept me on my toes, which was basically the theme of it the entire interaction. There were a lot of intriguing characters here and when you began leading us away from the town, I enjoyed the RP of thinking "where the fuck are we going and what are they going to do. So thanks, it was a fun session of RP, and it's been a while since I've been robbed for anything so maybe I was getting a little too comfy in Chernarus Now I also wanted to leave some small constructive feedback for the interaction, and please don't take this too much to heart because believe me I was laughing quite a bit ooc (even if my character was freaked out). But once the large group of you began to gather, things got a little too over the top. Sometimes less is more, and I found there were a couple of moments where people were darting around rather aimlessly and it was a bit distracting (there were also a couple of times when people were standing on each others shoulders which was a bit cringey if I'm being honest.). Once again, just something to think about as a group with decent size. Once we were initiated on, I enjoyed the robbery Rp, I wouldn't mind asking why it happened? I figure it was because you thought we were Chedaki and wanted us to get out, but I'm not 100% sure (not overally important as we were strangers in town and it was what it was). Once again in the robbery just slow things down a bit. We weren't going anywhere after that and people were getting a bit border line trollish with their movements. To a point where one of us asked about it in character and the movements were then amplified more. Once again I really, really mean it when I say I had some fun, and the above is just my opinion of some possible improvements, as previously seen in posts above, people obviously like what you do, so keep on doing it well. look forward to running into you again, but perhaps next time we will be 10...and you will be 2 See below posts for relevant info **I'm also going to put a disclaimer here that if there was more than one group of people working together here, than the above is a lot more understandable, as that would be a shit show to control. If it was majority Funeral Parlor than take these observations as you will**

I voted yes. Handling reports without any evidence, and only going off of POVs is really time consuming and makes it more likely that mistakes could be made when it comes to the verdict. While sometimes the logs are all the evidence that is needed, I think video evidence should be required for a majority of situations. At the very least, it makes the jobs of the GMs easier and makes their verdict potentially more informed and accurate.

Change is a natural part of life. Instead of wishing for what once was, maybe try to find the good in what's available now? Honestly I could think of a slue of issues, but the brass tax is if you aren't having fun, you don't gotta be here. I've left and come back here and there, but no amount of forum threads detailing past events and what once was is gonna help fix what's going down. I mean this in the nicest way possible too, because I feel for you, games changed even in the time I've been here. Way I've dealt with it is just to keep looking for like minded folk to have fun with. If you aren't having fun at the end of the day, it's not worth it. The friends I've made here make this worth it.

Coming from NoPixel on GTARP, I know first-hand what it's like to have a report system that explicitly requires footage or pictures to even get staff to process it. It turns into a game of 'well I know these guys don't record' and suddenly people do shit that they wouldn't do otherwise. Now, I can see it from both sides, but allowing those that don't record (even by choice), to have a chance to file a complaint and have it seen to when staff have the opportunity, allows for clemency on the reporting party. Just the fact that their report will even get seen and looked into is enough to some, to justify going on playing that particular game or using that particular platform. It's about offering the opportunity to bring a situation someone thought was distasteful and allowing everyone involved to come together as a COMMUNITY to bring closure. Whether that's through punishment or talking something out. Either way, its about closure. If people really want to lie about a game and a roleplay scenario, they are really scraping the bottom of the barrel. EDIT: Just wanted to add, in the OP it says that its unfair for staff to handle reports without evidence and going purely on statements that could potentially be lying. I addressed the lying just above, however, through statements you can find the truth. Whether it be the full truth from 1 side, or a mixed truth as a result of the people involved coming together to describe what took place. If the 2 parties are posting their POVs, the people that read it can easily find what is truth and what might be some baloney (I think that's how its spelled?). I know this for a fact considering I myself have been in the position of staff for other communities where photographic/video evidence was not required. Doesn't take too much to put 2 and 2 together with logs and statements of events. Just imagine the world we lived in if Police needed video/photo evidence to charge a criminal. Police in this community, would essentially be the Staff team. Trying to enforce the rules and monitor the community to provide a fun and immersive Day Z Roleplay experience.
