I'm not sure if anyone has mentioned this, can't be fucked to read through all the gifs and pictures of beating a dead horse (all made by people who joined 2015 who also have no clue what the fuck they are talking about), but to all the people who are hyping up the mods return, if it comes out.... lets make sure the server is actually populated and it doesn't become a disappointment like the last time it was made. With the earlier version of the mod, early 2014 like Major Tom mentioned, I think it will provide a different experience the newer guys haven't experienced before and I think most people will enjoy it. Some people are probably worried about the role play potential on the mod compared to standalone, but the mod can easily provide the same quality of role play standalone brings, even better in my opinion. I believe the role play provided by settlements, official and smaller player camps, is by far superior to some of the role play in standalone. I could go on and on about what the mod could bring, the only way to really know what I am talking about is to experience it yourself.

Hey the main issue was you brought back a shitty version of the mod. I remember that the latest mod build sucked ass. It was a pain to play and it started to die even before SA came around. The new medical and food system was a total pain in the ass and the loot was messed with so that all people could really find were rusty guns and broken shotguns. It just wasn't fun. If you bring back an earlier build of the mod, back before tamaster made a bunch of changes, then maybe it would live longer. If mod comes back and it's the latest version, I will not play. If it comes back and it's a good version of the mod, I'll play pretty much all the time. Big difference. Use the SA for people that like over complicated and frustrating medical/food mechanics and leave the mod to be a little more... gamey? Like a game? Idk just make it so it's fun to play and not a chore. Also the main point is that opening a mod server doesn't hurt anybody. It's a win/win. The mod players can go back and enjoy it and you SA players can sit there and enjoy SA. I doubt opening up a mod server is going to break Rolle's bank. Just have a little server open and let people enjoy it, no matter how dead or alive it is. ffs it's like you don't want us to have fun?

+1 on this Reasons: Firstly, I'm not sure if many of you guys are familiar with a mod called Island Life, back during Arma II. This mod was the basis for Arma III life. The main problem I had with most of them is the lack of RP and or boring RP. I once found a server named RLRPG (Real Life Role Playing Game) and their standards were amazing. It had many rules alike DayZRP, involving Fear RP, having to be IC, but the most important came to the RP within the police force. In the police force, we were regulated to have 1-2 weeks of police academy training, then we would become police. While in TS, we would have to use codes from 10-0 to 10-100, all describing specific things. For example of a transmission that would be given during a traffic stop would be, "Unit 17 to Operator. Performing a 10-27 on a 2014 White Chevrolet Tahoe, 2 times occupants. Additional unit may be required. No sign of weapons. Please advise." There would be a list of detailed laws that they used which was huge. It was the most interactive fun I've had in a Island life server in my entire life. If we could make something like that, I'd gladly sign up to be the one working on the police force due to my knowledge under this.

Looks good, except the titles, (they are blurry and hurt my eyes.) Other than that I like the way it is written and put together.

*Jeff would press down on the transmit button* *He'd laugh hysterically* "Do what you want! I don't care if you take a hostage, kill them!" "I don't even know why I'm on this radio frequency! Nobody would ever wanna come close to me... Cause apparently I'm a fucking Kook!" *It would sounds as if he dropped the radio* *At that moment, the transmission would end*

By the time i am writing this twenty one pages have been posted why the mod or the mod should not be coming back. And while i respect everybody opinion i would like to write down my own perspective in a new post towards the community. Let me first start, i am a strong believer in the mod. I used to be a strong believer in standalone aswell. But development is so slow in my eyes. And let us be honest with each other. The dayZ defs kinda trembled on our trust while we where waiting patiently for standalone and everything that got promised to us. We asked for a chocolate cookie and in the end we recieved only a small portion of that. I know it sucks, but it is the truth.. I would like to let you guys know what we should be doing. You can either agree with me, or you don't. And that is totaly ok. We are all passionate community members living on our own little island. And who am i saying to you if you are right or wrong. But let me begin! When we had the mod, this place was absolutely on its peak and a great enjoyment, there where more groups we could handle and you had to spam for a half hour to get into the server. I can tell you hours of stories about the mod days and from what i experienced. And that folks... that made me think a lot. I think the reason when we where getting downhill is when we started to mess around to much with the dayZ mod. Yeah that is right, i am just saying it out loud. We started to create our own builds, adding things, chancing things what gave us a extreem setback on our servers. When this happend a lot of people lost there hope and the where waiting for the promised dayZ standalone. DayZ standalone came back. We all hoped for the best, but we got over hyped and the development was slow. We brought the mod back, we did namalsk, we added a lot of more candy, and we fuckt up again. What i think this community needs is to put dayZ standalone as a side project ( but don't forget it, we all put hard work into it ) . Leave all sideprojects ( or keep it ) and bring one solid game to the roleplay community. And that is, and always will be the dayZ mod. ( not minecraft, not exile, not anything ) we are called - DayzRP Secondly i think we should be focusing on is keeping things basic, and small. Have a good think, what is realistic, If you decide to bring back mod. Don't go over kill with tweeking and adding things, it breaks code, we get server lag, and more. I believe strongly we should be focusing on the basic mod - a older reduced version without controling your blood level and the broken shotguns and more. ( hope you guys know what i am talking about ) and placing custom buildings and settlements for clans and such. Add custom vehicle's, skins, clothes, guns. Leave epoch, leave basebuilding, leave realism. We should be appricating the little things in life, and what we had. It was not perfect. but it was a hell lot of better then what we have currently. And i for a starter really miss the helicopters and cars and a crazy lot more. We had clan skins, group cp, group forums, we had custom skins, we had everything, and we blew it and did not appricate anything.................................... think for a moment here.... We can all say, don't beat a dead horse, but dayz mod is not dead. We are one of the true great community's out there, and the core foundation of that was not dayZ standalone. It was the mod. And while people mabey moved to standalone. or started straight away with that game. The never experienced the mod. I would like to give them a tast of that experience. We can even start fresh again! nothing wrong with that !

This has been done before, and I honestly believe that it's frowned upon to overdo playing music IG. I'd recommend against the idea entirely, BUT if you really feel compelled you'll need to heed the advice of everyone who has posted so far. You'll absolutely need to textRP something like,"*pulls out a small MP3 player. Removes a tiny battery, and inserts the battery into the MP3 player. Begins shuffling through songs.*" and things of that nature. It needs to be obvious that your character is actually providing the music when you do this, and it's always best to use textRP to emphasize this sort of thing. It'd be best to keep the volume at a reasonable level, as it could potentially effect the role-play of those around you if they can't understand what is being said. I personally only listen to music IC when I find a vehicle with a working radio or cassette player, otherwise I generally will avoid playing music around players that I don't know. At the end of the day, you'll be walking a fine line between acceptableRP and trollRP, so it'd probably be best to tread carefully when it comes to playing music. As far as actually RPing as a person who is a DJ...I find it a little unrealistic and difficult to believe that a DJ has survived a year and a half into the apocalypse. You'd need a pretty good backstory, or perhaps they only DJ'd as a hobby? I hope this answers your question. Feel free to reply back here or PM me for clarification. I commend you on wanting to look outside the normal parameters of RP, but you've gotta be careful and do it right!

I think this would be a good idea around next year, or something like that. At the rate we are going, there are lots of characters that seem the same, and it starts to get harder to create groups because lots of idea have already been used. However, I feel pre-infection lore should stay the same; however, the time period of infection start will be pushed forward. I start to get annoyed when people use common-day sayings that wouldn't make from 2014 (For example, lots of people were yelling "What are those" in Zelenogorsk at one point). It's hard at some times not to think of movies that have came out and movements that have happened (Like the attacks in Ukraine, this could create some interesting characters who say they are from Ukraine and they moved to Chernarus to escape. Something like that.). Addressing newer players, it can be VERY hard creating an interesting character. To new players, they might not know how a person may act this far in, but if it were to restart to a current day, then they would be able to find out how their character would act by placing themselves in a beginning. For example: I could take my character Hawk, when I made him, it was in early July; he was very nice, considerate, and estranged. If Hawk was made when it was in 2014, then I would have made him to be mean-spirited, envious, revengeful, and wishing to kill due to what his backstory states. In conclusion, I feel that a post-patient zero lore should be reset.
