Spoiler

Chernogorsk had a hum, a drone of the day to day doings that accompanied most cities her size. I had already enjoyed the bustle of the city upon arriving, being a "country hick" and a new, temporary resident to her land. I originally was from the good ol' U.S. of A...living on the quiet outskirts of a small, roughly 20,000 pop city, but had traveled to Chernarus with the hopes of meeting a fellow gamer I had met online. Now it may seem strange to you, reader, whoever you are, to travel across the globe to meet someone you met in a video game. I assure you that it's more complicated than that. It was a girl. Not just any girl. A 100% bona-fide nerd. She enjoyed all the same titles I had lost myself for hours upon hours in. Planet of Battle Craft, Ruler of the Bracelet Online, Star Skirmishes, the New Commonwealth..you name it, she and I shared a common admiration and devotion to it. Anyways, I digress. After knowing each other for a mere three weeks, I knew I had to meet this girl. Olivia. I hounded her mercilessly until she finally agreed to meet with me. How could she say no? It wasn't as if I was demanding she fly to meet me. I was taking all the financial burden to come across the globe to see her. She gave me her address and we planned a date for me to come meet her.

After being rerouted due to a pretty freaky thunderstorm, we landed in a very sketchy airfield somewhere near a town called Krasnostav, I managed to hail a taxi and told the cabby, who spoke very broken English, that I wanted to get to Chernogorsk, wherever the hell that was. He shook his head and laughed out loud, claiming he wasn't driving "Halfway across the country" for some American tourist. I was at a loss for words and slammed the door shut, flipping him the finger before asking around for other means of transportation. After buying buying a bus fare to Cherno, I boarded and slumped in my seat, already in a foul mood. Thanks thunderstorm. Hope this country doesn't have many of those.... I was just starting to nod off, the rumbling engine and muttering of other passengers lulling me to sleep, when my phone chirped. I I swiped it awake and got a short and apologetic text.

"Andrew. I know you are probably on your way here, if not already landed, but I cannot see you today. Something came up and I'm needed with my family. Olivia."

Shit. Now what the hell was I supposed to do? I had planned on staying with her at her apartment, so I didn't have any hotel reservation or any back up plan. I texted her back, "It's ok, hope your family's alright...see you soon." I then spent the next hour or so on my phone and luckily found a nice enough hotel in Cherno that boasted a central location in the city and a decently priced room. We arrived shortly after I made the reservation, so I wandered the streets, taking in the shops and charming apartments that lined the streets. I was a little confused at the atmosphere in town as I wandered. Some people seemed normal, shopping, but some had frantic, anxious looks on their faces...as if they knew something I did not. I shrugged it off and kept exploring, even pausing outside of a cathedral of some sort. Around 3pm I got back to the hotel and made my way to my room on the back side of the hotel, and fell into bed, exhausted by my little tour and the stress of worrying about Olivia and if we'd actually see each-other.

     I awoke to screaming.

"It's a complicated story..."

Heh, I look forward to more, kind of interesting. Do you plan to cover the "hot times" (I mean the immediate time after or during the first days and chaos not bedtime stuff with nerd girl ye' pervs!) in greater detail or just get through 'em and get to present day fast? I especially like early day stuff, just saying.
