Socialist State of Zagoria Armed Forces [SSZAF] (NA RECRUITMENT ONLY)

Socialist State of Zagoria Armed Forces originated from the Movement of the Red Star. After the Soviets Union’s fall in 1991 and Chernarussian independence, many ethnic Russians were unhappy with the transition. They remembered their proud and glorious country that rivaled western superpowers, like the United States, not the frill, poor country Chernarus had become.

In 1997, when Andrey Lopotev created the Working Man’s Defence Alliance, many from the Russian population viewed him as a savior. Looking out for the little man that the capitalist system squashed underneath its boot. Members of the SSZAF were apart of the movement from the beginning. Taking part in the protests against the government alongside their brothers in arms no matter how violent the events got. Once the group became known as the Movement of the Red Star or Chedaki, ChDKZ, and called for the reintegration into Russia, their loyalty only became fiercer. They longed for the moment to return to their homeland.

In 2006, when the Chedaki began militarizing after the Chernarussian government banned the movement, members of the SSZAF were some of the first in line ready to fight. They believed the government was unworthy of power if they banned our voice, we strive for a truly equal and free world. The Chedaki would not go down quietly, they would fight. Following the ban, members of the Chedaki set off a bomb in Chernogorsk, killing four police officers and two civilians, as a message to the government that they are willing and ready to fight.

Our fight started in 2009, throughout the summer, small skirmishes in the northern parts of South Zagoria broke out between the Chedaki and the Chernarus Defense Force. With a lack of strong, central leadership, the Chedaki forces were mostly unsuccessful. Everything changed in September. Chedaki forces began massing on the coast to take key parts of the country, like ports and airfields. They are victorious. The Chedaki seize the majority of South Zagoria including the region’s capital, Chernogorsk. Talks begin with Russia about reintegration but they are later dismissed.

Chedaki officials execute the Chernarussian Prime Minister, Alexander Baranov, and declares the nation the Chernarussian Socialist Republic.

A month after the September Crisis, the US launches an operation alongside the remaining CDF forces to reclaim lost land. The operation is incredibly effective, retaking Chernogorsk within hours. Most of the remaining Chedaki forces flee towards the black mountains, where a large-scale manhunt begins.

Samuel Chernikov was a low ranking officer in charge of a small platoon within the Chedaki. They were forced out of Chernogorsk by the US Marines and they were on the run. Outnumbered and outgunned, they attempted to avoid enemy units as they moved north towards the Russian border. After days of running, they finally reached what they believed to be their safety. A small camp of fellow Chedaki set up within the remote regions of the mountains. 3 days after arriving, their hopes were lost once again. CDF hinds strafed the camp with rockets, destroying the majority of the camp and killing a large portion of the Chedaki soldiers still hiding there. Samuel and his men were some of the few who took minimal casualties. Soon the sound of gunfire erupted as CDF and anti-communist forces attacked their position. Samuel and his platoon did the only thing they could do. Run.

For the next month, the platoon ran west. Trying to find a way across the border to safety. Finally, on November 15th, they made it through Chernarus into Takistan and safety. They immediately got rid of all items that could link them to Chedaki and began their quiet lives. Most of the platoon remained together, in the city of Chamen, working odd jobs. They stayed there until the infection.

Anarchy falls upon Chernarus as a mysterious infection spreads within the country. CDF forces are unable to contain it and international relief is sent. Samuel believed that this would be the perfect opportunity to return to the country and begin the movement once again. Samuel and his men begin their voyage back to Chernarus on July 20th, 2017. The managed to sneak across the border once again, through the old pathway they used in 2009, and enter the northwestern region of the country. They soon realize how desperate the situation is. As the infection spreads, so does the chaos. The platoon’s only thought was survival, looting abandoned military installations and any stores in towns as they make their way towards South Zagoria.

They hoped that the large ethnic Russian population within the region would help them kick-start their new campaign to take back the country, but as they arrived, their hopes had vanished. They realized the state of South Zagoria. Survival was their only priority now.

The following months, the platoon fought for survival. Setting up a small camp north of Sinistok, they hid there. Only going out to look for supplies. Morale of the unit was low, and as news that other countries began to fall to the infection, it pushed many to the brink. Solitude was keeping them alive, but at the same time, killing them. Samuel felt that their only chance of survival was to fight. Hoping that other like-minded survivors were out there, Samuel sent out a radio transmission asking for any fellow communist or like-minded Russians and Chernarussians to answer his call to arms. 2 weeks pass, and people began answering.

Survivors from the region began responding. Hope would bloom once again. As more people began to answer, Samuel began planning for the next stage of the mission.

Throughout the following weeks, Samuel and his platoon bolstered their numbers with new recruits. They taught them the basics of combat and began their preaching of a truly equal society. Samuel began organizing the group into something more than just a group of armed soldiers. If he planned to take back his country, he needed to give people something to stand and fight on. One of the men that answered the called was Antonov Valinkov, a communist politician that had remained hidden in the region. After working with Antonov and other former members of the party, the Socialist State of Zagoria is born on January 30th, 2018. The movement would begin once again, Glory to SSZ, glory to the Chedaki.

SSZAF soldiers out on patrol

History of SSZ Units:

1st Infantry Unit:
Founded on the nineteenth of February, 2018, they are the main fighting force of the SSZ army. The unit consists of “foot soldiers” and relies on moving by foot between combats, but may also use mounts, military vehicles, or other transport.

2nd Special Purpose Brigade:
Founded on the third of March, 2018, the Special Purpose Brigade, or 2nd Spetsnaz, is a special operations unit created to perform tasks that the Infantry units cant handle. The unit was created to mimic the Russian Spetsnaz units; however, the only ties the two units have are a former Spetsnaz Commando who trained some of the members in the Chernarussian civil war in 2009.

Socialist State of Zagoria Police Units:
Founded on the nineteenth of February, 2018, they are tasked with keeping law and order within Socialist State of Zagoria territory.

Notice:

The 2nd Spetsnaz are not going to be super soldiers. The unit, although trained, is not, in anyway, equal to any kind of special operations unit in real life. It is just considered to be better than the "normal" units. Remember that most members of the military have little formal combat training.

I love when groups come around that fit in nicely with the current climate of the server. It sounds like there's a ton of potential for conflict with other groups currently on the server and I like when groups have the balls to challenge that. Just... Try not to get burned out because hostilities can be tough to work out with already established groups when you're still getting your numbers together.
