Wow I'm honestly surprised with the enthusiastic and positive responses to the new lore. i honestly thought you all would hate it and pull it apart because its "new and different" or "its not tomeran" .Etc I guess I'm still living in the past. :/ Everyone's responses just make me so much more excited for the future. Bravo to the Loremaster team for their brilliant work @Major @Chief @Joules You have all out done your self.

I have read most of it, However not all as i've been really busy IRL recently. i'll take a more detailed look at it later and give my opinion on it then. <3

"Around midnight, the downtown International Hotel was struck by a cargo plane carrying relief supplies that had veered off course, killing all on board. "

 thanks!

Looks nice, lets see where this will get us.

I'll note here that nobody really knows where the fuck it came from.

Great work you guys. From what I understand it was gutted unfortunately but what we have here is nice to read, it's simple but detailed. I like it.

So there's mention of NATO Warships in the green/black sea but I don't see any mention of the Russian Black Sea fleet. Would they not have been involved since they're already in the area? or are they the "existing flotilla"

I'm loving it! Got some nice segues for foreigners to have a reason to be in Chernarus that the old lore kinda glossed over, got extensive details on military and aid responses (including the presences of US forces in Chernarus.... blegh. Supersoldiers incoming.) This is really well done, well written; I'm really looking forward to using this new background!

I do think that for being the Whitelist Lore, it has a rather large amount of rhetoric about the arrogance of modern humanity that doesn't really seem IMO to belong. Most of the Lore is written almost like a history book, with nice, clear details and emotion-free reporting of facts and events, but in a couple of places it's like the author was suddenly possessed by the ghost of one of those crazy people that wave "The End Is Nigh" signs in Times Square. Just feels kinda forced and out of place, especially towards the end where the world is loudly proclaimed as being blind and arrogant because... we didn't anticipate corpses suddenly getting up and attacking people?

-Please note that this is the whitelist version of the Lore, and a following Lore+ version will be posted and pinned in the L&S section that contains more information, detail, and more description. Everything people need to know is here, and more pictures will be added to the Lore+ version which will flesh out and give some visuals. Thank you guys for your patience, we hope you will like it.-

The only thing I would say to change is the placement of this statement. Could you please put it at the top? Seems that a lot of people might be replying mid-read without realizing that this is a whitelist version. I was kinda disappointed and confused for the duration of the lore only to be relieved at the end to see that there was indeed a continuation in-progress.

That being said, I think the lore here is well enough written for a whitelist version. I actually really enjoy the mystery behind how the infection started because you would *think* that it was a biological attack, right? Well, what if it's really the Chernarussians asking the Russians for help in both eliminating the threat and creating a distraction for the media? What if it was Chernarussian experimentation on Chedaki (already to be executed) gone wrong and then needing to be controlled and destroyed? So many different potential conspiracies roll around this right now and remember, this is a story RESET, not a continuation. No one knows how things have unfolded yet because we're just starting after the first few weeks have gone by, according to all of this.

As for the use of infection one person mentioned, I mean, c'mon. It's not a bacterial infection, but a virus, and the use of the word infected can mean they're infected with anything. Spread of infection with a disease, spread of infection with a virus, etc. Not necessarily having an "infection" per-say. Geez. Ya'll are thinking way to much into this.

Well played, LMs, well played...

200 UN peacekeepers and some 300 doctors and researchers...

Sounds just a bit weird.

Other than that, great job guys! I'd like to ask if you've got anything to say about the ship that wrecked down on Skalisty's Eastern Coast as well. Maybe you can get some minor stories about it into the Lore, if it's actually worth a shot.

Keep on the good work! :D

So...can someone post a summary of what is exactly different this time?

Isn't it exactly like: | The virus struck, shit went to shit, military came, they ran off like "omgomgomgomg run" and there's that. wasteland with undead and super soldiers everywhere, nobody working together to survive, everybody hates each other.

It's basically this.

When I talked to the lore crew, they expressed that because its so early in the apoc, no one should be afraid of the military just yet because they havent done anything wrong really. You woukd have to build a hatred fod them.

Furthermore, being apprehensive of other people shouldnt be so common because again its pretty early. If you suspect someone is infected, thats different. Complete Incubation and turning is only like 16 hrs though... So you would know pretty quickly if someone is infected.

The miltary would have had an order to "contain and eliminate" They don't have time to pick out a few survivors. With an insane epidemic like this everything and everyone is a hazard and will be killed when coming in too close.

So yes, "the military" from whichever nation would be something to be afraid of.

I suppose that is circumstantial, depending on where and when you were in SZ/Chernarus, upon arrival.

Another thing: There should be a marked decrease in people who have gone insane, or have some mental illnesses as a result of trauma brought on by the apoc

Unfortunately, that's a zombie apocalypse for you. There are a thousand different things we discussed but there are many things that make this Lore different. It isn't just "and then there was zambies" or some guy got bit by a rabid dude and the world is history. We wanted to really play off ground zero and the mystery of what occurred there.

It is pretty clear, or at least it becomes clear very quickly where the infected and the non-infected are. They would be something to be afraid of, but only if you were causing shit or ignoring their commands or hanging out in an area they had said they were going to bomb.

There is still a world out there, and even after things go bad I can tell you that militaries, peoples, governments, and lots of other people will still be around. Chernarus isn't lost either, just keep an eye out in the future for the Chernarussian Lore Faction.

I mean we could have had a civil war and then zambies! Or had a fair and then zambies! We could have had it start elsewhere which sort of leaves Chernarus as just being another small country, there are many possibilities but at the end of the day it is a Lore and a video gaming with a community of human beings that are going to keep playing the way they have been playing. The Lore+ version will add a lot to the universe, but if we can introduce new things to the main Lore along with some mystery and intrigue. The server Lore is what everybody has to read, it is the setup that everybody is familiar with. What occurs beyond that is the story itself.

What are your suggestions?

I wish I had more beans to give. There Is great mystery surrounding how the zombies came to be as well as so many paths the story coukd go if someone was to get too curious and investigate. I, personally, love the work that was done to make this story interesting and different.

Yeah, and we are not going to just tape off a corner of the Lore and say you can't go there. If you dig you'll find stuff, lots of things that can be found in-game that are present in the Lore and are key to the storyline.

After a month, the remains of a global society was crucified on the graves of those who built it.

So is the lore starting 1 month after infection, or is it starting 2 weeks after infection? I feel like 1 month post infection would allow people to return to how things are right now way too quickly.

If it started 2 weeks post infection, then I think things would be different enough that hopefully things wouldn't return to how they are now.

We start at 2 weeks after. 1 month is just to give a general idea of the state of the world, but we will talk about the state of the world in another thread.
