DayZ starts up then crashes

Question

Wendigojames    14

I've tried running as admin, updating drivers, reinstalling it, verified the files and even restarting my laptop. Yet all it does it still crashes right after it comes up.

Are you sure that you are not running the game in beta mode? Do you get any error messages that might give us a clue to why your game is crashing?

Edit: Also how long does the game run for? is it instant or do you get into the menu?

Does your laptop has the current requirements to run the game?

Also do you get an error message?

Nope. Not beta mode. And no errors. Just shuts down without anything popping up.

Yeah, it does. I've been playing just fine on it for the past few months.

Do you have any other information that might prove useful? Have the game worked for you on the new .60 patch?

Is your computer overheating before it crashes or is it taking to many resources from the CPU before it crashes?

It's worked for me pretty well in this patch.

Overheating, no. Too many resources....no idea. Honestly don't know how to check that. Not too handy with computers tbh

Open Task manager before opening the game and see if it blows the CPU up or anything such as memory etc is out of the ordinary.

I've read around on the interwebs and it seems that plays.tv is making other people crash in different games. Have you tried closing all but the essential programs before launching dayz? (including plays.tv)

It brings my CPU from 9% to like 20 - 30%.

A system restart might also help :)

DayZ is a "magical" game sometimes. One day it works, the next it doesn't.

I'm off to bed. Hope it works out for ya.

What about the memory is it blowing up?

I had a similar problem but it contained an Error message that said memory error x000000 and that was because my memory driver was simply dying  that might even be the case here but there is no message so I can't really confirm that.

Memory drops from like 40% to around 30%

So it seems that this is not an issue with your specs as they seem all normal.

Are all drivers update and what programs do you have open when the crash happens if any?

Try closing plays.tv and chrome before opening the game and tell us if it runs properly without any hiccups.
