Question

Every time I try to change my Avatar it tells me *The file upload failed. Please choose a valid file and try again* but when I use normal pics it goes through?

Hey bud,

This has happened to me a few times, can I ask what you mean by "normal" pics? Because when I try and put in one and it fails, usually it is because the picture size is too big. How big is the one you are tying to load up?

Try now, possibly a file system permission error after todays maintenance.

not even a 1 MB, normal pic as in not a gif.

Make sure the file type is .PNG, .jpeg, or .gif

They are tried using old avatars that were gifs and did not work.

If you're trying a GIF - 150x200px max 1MB, or else it wont work.

When I said size I was referring to res. as in is it 250x250, that size may be too big. There are limits

So unless I am mistaken, the gif is a wallpaper from Android, right?

Could that have something to do with it, i.e. permission from Android?

Android ? I don't think so as it seems like every time I use a new gif it gives me the same error even old gifs that i used here before.

Yeah, I searched the gif with Google and it came up as an Android Live Wallpaper. But this is certainly odd then

Checking the image information, it is 800kb, so it is under the 1 MB size restriction. It is also the correct size at 150x200. It should be uploading fine, unless there is some other tweaking that needs to be done with permissions?

This is not an issue with his image. And no, he does not need permission from Android. I tested with some GIF's I've used in the past. Same issue. I even resized his GIF and made some changes. No luck. Looks like this is a problem that the boss man himself is going to have to fix.

Just wait, it's probably something that changed to a default setting during maintenance. I'll have a look soon.
