Don't you hate it when you get into a hostile situation but need to leave the server at the same time? Now, nobody wants to get bashed with some silly combat-logging rule-break. While the average player will simply leave themselves AFK in a bush for the next 2 hours they're gone, the smart, and innovative DayZRP member that you are will no longer have to do such!

With this nice and small batch file (just preset command prompt essentially), your DayZ will end after a set amount of time.

And......

it's easy as 1, 2, 3!

Step 1: Create a new text file

3dd383ae783f47b99fa8448216d0f35a.png

Step 2: Enter this code

timeout /t (time in seconds)
taskkill /im dayz.exe /f

3832114b266c4f10ae3221c925254cba.png

I like to use 1200 seconds (20 minutes) as I'm usually out of combat trying to find a really safe place to log for 10 minutes before I start the script, but you can set the number to anything you want.

Step 2.5: If you'd rather have it shutdown your computer instead

timeout /t (time in seconds)
shutdown.exe /s /t 00

Step 3: Save the file!

f66728bc634642eba99c2a275403927a.png

Make sure you click save as, add " .bat " to the end of the file name, and click the drop down for the "Save as type" and select "All Files"

Now for the extra lazy (like most of you, probably) I made a download with everything already completed for you which you can download here. All you have to do is double click this file and the timer will start!

Please remember if you use the download link I sent that it is set at 20 minutes so make sure you're out of combat for 10 minutes before you run it.

It looks nice in my mind, but don't forget when you go AFK people can maybe see you and are trying to RP with you.

Now also don't forget to eat or drink when you are going AFK in a bush hahaha..

Keep that in mind if you are going to use this.

But to be honest I am never going to use this...

I like walking around and not sit for a long time at the same place AFK.

It's a nice script if you're the type to go AFK in a bush.

But it does present the problem of you leaving your character in-game and having the potential to be initiated on. I tend to just wait it out and carry on walking around to not risk it.

I personally used to have private time in the trees with Emile. But whatever works for you. ^_^

This could have some problems arise from it. If they somehow see you again your 30 minute timer will be reset and that could cause some problems if it closes the game after 30.

Would certainly be useful in situations where you had to go AFK, pretty interesting. Although there are definitely valid concerns to be had with this, as outlined above.

Obviously there's some possible issues with this, as stated above. Thanks for the hook up anyhow! :D

Very cool!  Don't think I will be using it though, I love sitting in trees and forgetting I have my game open.  I really need to stop doing that...

Just dont initiate when you know you ahve to leave in 10 or 20Minutes?

No afk, no avoiding RP in a bush, no odd "bushsitting".

Just skip on the hostilities and be a proper "fair player".

I dont see why that could be so hard.

Or just make sure everyone that has KOS on you is dead. All dead, no report for combat logging. :troll:

Well, just comply if something happens.

Due to requests, I have added step 2.5. An optional step for those of you that would rather have your computer shutdown instead of just ending DayZ!

This is useful for people who have to go AFK for an unknown amount of time.

Thanks!
