Making a Secret service Character?

Question

Saints    89

So i was thinking about an idea for my hero character as he is pretty much gonna be a wimp in most situations as he only uses a bow , so what i thought of is having  secret service character pretending to be that character ( Character inception) . And i was wondering if that idea conflicted with lore ?

You want to be Secret Service, who pretends to be a wimp?

Err more complicated than that , but technically yes.

Well, Secret Service doesn't really exist in the apocalypse anymore. So maybe you'd go along with "ex Secret Service" - and RP out that you're not the wuss everyone thinks you are, you're lowkey a badass.

I don't see anything wrong with that.

Essentially you can create whatever character you like with the only condition that he or she is realistic and if he or she has any specialisation, make sure it is well researched and played out to not be trollish or immersion breaking for other members of the community.

If you feel you can pull it off, go for it. You can also run the character itself through The community on the forum to get a consensus from the community, maybe improve on your original idea.

With some research on your character and some knowlage on our lore, you should be able to work a character and pull it off, although you must remember to keep our community rules in mind and you must follow our server lore.

If you get a backstory together and have some context on how you're going to pull it off, I'll be more then happy for you to PM me and I can review it, or PM a lore master and hope they get back to you with some feedback. Other then that. Good luck!

How do you know they don't exist... They're "Secret"... shhhhhh xD

But seriously in reply to the OP, If you think you can pull it off and it will be an enjoyable character for yourself and anybody you encounter... then Good Luck my Man!

Why would the Secret Service have anyone in the region?

My thought is 'Head-Cannon' to the lore, perhaps a specific individual in Chernarus is or was under watch, The worlds open!

Why would the Secret Service have anyone in the region?

He/She could have just been travelling around different countries and decided to stay in Chernarus for a time before choosing to move on or stay I guess?

Shark does raise a point, the secret service only get involved with issues pertaining to the president with possible threats against him or places he'll be visiting and they lack jurisdiction in other countries and it is highly unlikely the president of the United States would visit a place such as Chernarus.

Agreed. I could see it if in the lore the POTUS was coming, or had already been in Chernarus.  The Secret Service is literally just a law enforcement agency for the protection of the POTUS and ex-POTUS.

The secret service is not some foreign intelligence branch, they are not sent on foreign missions to do anything other than protect specific individuals who are visiting there. It is extremely unlikely they would be bouncing around from country to country and happen to land in Chernarus when a viral outbreak is occurring and get stuck there.

The Secret Service has primary jurisdiction to investigate threats against Secret Service protectees as well as financial crimes, which include counterfeiting of U.S. currency or other U.S. Government obligations; forgery or theft of U.S. Treasury checks, bonds or other securities; credit card fraud; telecommunications fraud; computer fraud, identify fraud and certain other crimes affecting federally insured financial institutions.

By law, the Secret Service is authorized to protect:

  • The president, the vice president, (or other individuals next in order of succession to the Office of the President), the president-elect and vice president-elect
  • The immediate families of the above individuals
  • Former presidents, their spouses, except when the spouse re-marries
  • Children of former presidents until age 16
  • Visiting heads of foreign states or governments and their spouses traveling with them, other distinguished foreign visitors to the United States, and official representatives of the United States performing special missions abroad
  • Major presidential and vice presidential candidates, and their spouses within 120 days of a general presidential election
  • Other individuals as designated per Executive Order of the President and
  • National Special Security Events, when designated as such by the Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security

To clarify, they are not spies. They would not be in the region and even if they were, they would not go "undercover" as a wimp.

At the Secret Intelligence Service (SIS) – otherwise known as MI6 – our mission is clear. We work secretly overseas, developing foreign contacts and gathering intelligence that helps to make the UK safer and more prosperous. We help the UK identify and exploit opportunities as well as navigate risks to our national security, military effectiveness and economy. We work across the globe to counter terrorism, resolve international conflict and prevent the spread of nuclear and other non-conventional weapons. We are here to help protect the UK’s people, economy and interests. I'm from the Uk , not US.

Oh.

You said Secret Service, not Secret Intelligence Service. Normally not a big deal, except there actually is a Secret Service. Anyway, yeah I guess if that's what they do then knock yourself out.

You used "Secret Service" that's American.

You never used "Secret Intelligence Service".

That changes everything this entire thread has been discussed about thus far.

Maybe be more exact in future to avoid such a derailment.

It's ok Saintz.

It only changes the entire discussion.

With the clandestine nature of MI6 it is completely understandable for the character you briefly described would, as long as it stayed within the realm of our rules completely fisable in such a destabilised place such as this.

Remember, no super soldiers.
