New 4k Build!

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone!

So, since the release of the gtx1080 I've been contemplating about making a move to 4k.  As you all know it is very costly but most people say its worth the investment not to mention the VR capabilities.

This is what I have planned:

Corsair 780T Tower

ASUS Rampage V x99 (2011-v3)

Intel i7 6850k with Corsair h115i 280mm water cooler

ASUS GTX 1080 FE

Corsair Dominator Quad Channel 32GB 3333mhz ddr4

Samsung 950 pro 512 GB m.2 SSD

Corsair AX860W 80 Plus Platinum PSU

Samsung 28" 4k Monitor

I haven't built a PC since nVidia put out the GeForce 8 series way back in 2007 :D

If I do in fact pull the trigger on this build, I want it to last me at least 5-6 years (possible SLI in a couple years if necessary)

Is there anything you guys would like to suggest?

Thanks,

It sounds like an overkill computer. But hey, if you got the cash for it, just do it. Have to ask though, what is an Intel i7 8950k? Never heard about that CPU.

Sorry guys, I meant the 6850k. Big typo on my part. Also, sorry for the offtopic post.

Yes its an expensive build but again, its so that I don't have to worry about upgrading anytime in the near future. Like I said, maybe in a few years ill add another 1080 for sli just to keep it going for a while longer.

If you believe its overkill Ingal, what would you do differently?
