Detailed description;

Me and a friend came from Pulkovo with bus tyres we found because I had seen a bus in northern cherno, and we thought lets fix it up.

When we arrived at the bus there were three bodies, and two people freaking out. We tried to asses the situation and concluded the two people were not hostile and the killers had left. We tried to see if wee could help the victims but they were dead. So we proceeded to fix the bus. The two friendly people left and a third one appeared; Zacharia Jones. He seemed friendly at first and we werent paying that much attention to him, because he seemed cool. 

My friend was changing the tyres on the bus and I was looking around when in I saw "drop your weapons or die" in chat. I saw movement in the right corner of my screen and looked in that direction and saw the once friendly guy running towards me with his gun down. He then shot me point blank. I feel like this was unfair because I had my weapon down and was shot me almost immeadiatly after I read the text. I had no chance to drop my weapon in the litte time between the moment I noticed the text and him charging up on me and killing me.

I also find it strange that he would use text chat instead of voice which he used throughout our first encounter. I feel like he intentionally used text instead of voice chat to hide his identity and location. For me there was no link between the text and his character because I didnt ask him his name when we first met. So i didn't see any danger in looking at him. I had absolutely no idea he was the one threatning us. If he had used voice I wouldn't have turned towards him because it would have been clear who he was and what he wanted.

After he shot me he took my friend hostage and accused him of having killed the three guys that we found when we arrived at the bus. I think he was trying to take revenge for his friends and thought he was justified in shooting me. He had no evidence linking us to the death of his friends, he just assumed it was us because we were in the area. Then some friends of him arrived and they questioned my friend. They eventually decided to break his legs and destroy the bus, leaving my friend behind handcuffed. (They failed to break his legs but chipped them.) 

I dont know if there even are any server logs, but if there are an admin would be able to verify that me and my friend (Yuri Petrovski) were innocent and Zacharia killed me.

We looked for those tyres the entire night and lost all of our loot which we gathered over a few days. 

Maybe Im just frustraded but I think he illegaly killed me.

Hey I am Zacharia Jones

POV. I spawned down in cherno after getting killed while being taken hostage by a Granada that my friend threw. others of us where already killed earlier and they where in cherno too. I was looting around when one of our guys in cherno says that he is being robbed at a bus in churno. me and my friends then meet up and get ready to go help. As we are coming up with the rest of our guys to find them the initiated on another one of our guys granting kos to everyone that had just come down from up north.(I know this was not you guys the where here originally) we kill two of the 3 guys that where holding up my friends. while looking for the last guy who ran off we then see you and your friend come running down the hill and meet two other unknowns at the bus. At this time I was on the roof of a near by building and i over hear you guys talking. in this i heard something about friends and we though you guys may have known them for no one from what I could tell from where i was was asking what are doing here. I then decided to try and feel the waters and see what you guys would do i some random walked up. that is when I made contact. I asked what happen like I was just coming to the area and when nothing happened and I picked up a gun that was more suited for a close corders situation I decided with the rest of my guys who where providing overwatch to initiate. at the time of initiation I was taking cover for I wanted to do a text you would not mis hear me so i did not have eyes directly on you but someone on the roof right before I initiated said someone was sliding so I assume that was you for that is the person that got shot. the reason i shot you is you turned towards me with a gun out and since you where sliding it would not show you raising it. i took that a a hostile act and that is the reason you where shot.

Im sorry for your lose in the gear but it was more we had someone who was robbed by the guys earlier and he wanted to interrogate you guys because we believed you may have been with them.

Also,  I have never heard about this 'sliding'. Is sliding when you look around without actually walking? 

Is someone able to confirm that sliding does not show the raising of a weapon? 

I never raised my weapon, but as I understand from Zachariahs POV it might have looked that way. Is this sliding valid reason to kill someone?

To clarify the point of sliding it happens most often when you are double carrying rifles and you just slide you don't walk or do any other actions.

It seems to me like you were seeking revenge and with intent to kill which influenced your actions towards me and my friend by assuming we were hostile, despite having absolutely no evidence linking us to the death of your friends and us being friendly towards every single

person present during the entire situation.

This lead to you deciding to just rush and kill me instead of waiting for a response while staying in cover while you were unsure what I was doing because friend had notified you in advance of my sliding state.

After killing me you and your friends proceeded to interrogate my friend and tried to break his legs. And as a final act of revenge you destroyed all the tires of the bus.

When you overhead us talking about 'friends' we were probably trying to find out who the dead people were and how they were connected to the people already present.

In rp standards it was justified that our characters would want revenge but that did not influence me killing you. I explained in my pov that when you turned to face me with a weapon out I felt like that has was a threat to my life and took care of it. And the part about your friend and someone trying to break his legs and the destroying of the bus tires,I was actually not there for I was on overwatch for a lot of the time after we took your friend hostage and I actually had to go so I broke contact and waited my timer so I could log.

Given my sliding state I could not have complied to Zachariahs demand. Of which he was aware before initiating.

This combined with how he and his friends treated my friend leads me to believe they were out to kill and he took his chance when he was informed I was sliding, instead of postponing the initiation.

Verdict:

Zachariah Jones - KoS/RDM [INCONCLUSIVE]

Reason:

The staff team have reviewed this report and have taken into account all statements from those involved. However without a video of the situation it is very hard to determine what took place to lead to the kill of the OP.

We have established from statements that there is a possibility that the OP was glitched into a sliding state which is a known bug when carrying an extra weapon in your hands. This bug can cause issues in determining if the player has a gun raised or lowered especially once initiated on. From what we have in the logs the OP was initiated on via text and was given 12 seconds before being shot, this is enough time to atleast drop the weapon before raising the characters hands.

As stated above, without a video of the situation it is very hard to determine the full picture from first contact to the kill. We would however like to encourage those performing a hostile act on someone in a glitched state to take more time to determine if the victim is complying or not.
