RP2: RDM, GearRP and Meta-gaming, Severograd 15/02/2016 19:10

Detailed description of the events:. I enter the server to see two guys on the police station roof in Severograd. I decide to head over with my friend Jester on overwatch. RP-wise as it was Jackal territory I asked them what they were doing around the town. The two started replying with troll-like comments such as 'Oh we are on our quest for love.' or something along those lines.

It was later on discovered that the two men were related to a situation regarding either themselves or friends being held up by my group. They had no evidence that I was necessarily a part of that group. Nevertheless, the men started meta-gaming as they started saying 'Oh you're part of the fucking Jackals huh? Get on the fucking ground." This is meta-gaming as during our entire RP together we NEVER mentioned our name. Anyways I decided to comply, put my hands up and get on the ground. As soon as I complied they proceeded to handcuff me and without a word said they just started looting me, I made several attempts to talk and they eventually replied with 'You killed our friend! So we will execute you on this fucking road right now!' I'm assuming the guys were related to the recent 'RDM' report in severograd in which their friend's death was actually caused through a glitch, not killed by us therefore their KOS rights were void.

Anyways, whilst they were preparing to kill me or whatever, screaming 'Allahu Akbar' down the microphone. Jester kills one of them. Despite my compliance: The other person decides to just execute me because of my friend killing his. For no reason whatsoever.

The logs will show Jester killing somebody, and somebody killing myself. I will be updating this report if I remember anything else.

I was present and the killer of one of the hostage takers.  I sent Lenny to say hello to the two men in severo, he said they were being sketchy and were most likely going to try and take him hostage.  I got into position by running around to the south of the city within 100M for the targets.   They were threatening to kill lenny at the time. So I took shots.  I killed one, the other then runs behind cover and then shoots Lenny while in handcuffs and kills him mid sentence despite the fact he was complying in cuffs.    I then move position and during that time the other person ran from town.

Early yesterday night we were traveling to Sevorgrad after being told our friends were there. We then head into the tree lines after hearing a few gun shots. My one friends finds me and says " They took Yurosauv hostage. and they shot at him and I.(He caught us up to speed) Then I log on today with my other friend and we are in the police station the description of what Muhammad ( using the false name Tyler) said one guy had a raspy voice wearing all black with an accompanied black assault rifle. This was the guy that took him Hostage.  I went to rob him and I said I was going to execute (which i really wasn't) For holding both of my friends hostage and firing upon them. Then My friend was shot and killed and front of me and as I ran away I did not say "Allah Hu Ahkbar" I shouted" I'll kill him" as in the hostage. Then another shot was fired at the wall I was behind. I turned and shot the hostage. His friend failed a rescue and I told his savior I would kill the hostage. He decided to keep firing so I slayed the man before for his saviors insolence. I am sorry for having to shoot you but you savior came guns blazing and didn't listen to my warning.

My POV: 9:00p.m Eastern Time, Daniel Bishop and I met in the city of Berenzino and used a radio to contact Muhammad. He disclosed the location of where he was, which happened to be Novodmitrovsk, and said he was traveling to Severgrad but wanted to check for loot and water. Sometime later we arrived at Severgrad and heard gunshots. We sat in the tree line and a figure ran past us. This figure was Muhammad so we called him over to us for him to recall the details. He described the people who robbed him and told us that Jaroswav was being held hostage. Then after all the server problems we logged off. Today when we logged on we went to loot Severgrad. We were passing bu the police station when a man approached us. Muhammad described him as a man wearing all black with an assault rifle and a deep-raspy voice. As soon as he said he owned the city we knew he was a member of the Jackals. A random stranger told us that Severgrad was controlled by the Jackals. We decided to hold him up and as were disarming him, I was fired upon and killed and heard Dan say "I will kill him." While I was in the dead screen, shots ensued after Dan spoke so he killed the hostage. That is my point of view.

I logged out after me and another member of my group who was running from the south arrived and we searched the town for the accused and found no trace. we assumed he skipped town.  I then logged out in a shed near my companion to put up my POV and to discuss the report with the OP before logging back in.   At no point after logging out and logging back in did we continue to search for the Accused as we assumed they were long gone.

Looking at the logs I realize it was an early log out,  My mistake, I assumed I was in game longer then I was.    I take full responsibility for my actions.

Saying 'I will kill him.' does not provide any valid RP to execute me. That statement does not provide our side with any demands, intentioned or WHO you directed the 'him' towards, could it have been me? Or could it have been Jester?

As it says, I may be killed if my rescuer does not stop shooting. AFTER your demands have been made followed by a reasonable amount of time. In my eyes: 'I will kill him' does not state as a demand, just a threat.

The rules also state that you should not kill your hostages IMMEDIATELY after being attacked as shown below:

If we could take a look at the logs I didn't even last 10 seconds after Tyler died, I actually lasted 8 which has to be the time that it took for Daniel to make your demands clear to the attacker. However, within that time-span Daniel had already mowed me down with my own AUG. Last time I checked a rough 7-8 seconds is not a reasonable amount of time to make his demands and have my rescuer comply let alone register the demands before instantly executing me. Thinking is required for this scenario. Therefore even if Daniel did make a demand: He literally killed me straight after within the first few seconds of saying such.

Question for staff in addition: What would you call a reasonable amount of time for demands to go through completely and then responded? I doubt the time displayed here is the answer.

You are acting like there was another alternative, You kept firing afterwards. If I stepped out you would have fired upon me too. You didn't speak and you killed the first guy instantly. You murdering my friend instantly doesn't provide RP value. I said I would kill him. I was fired upon and it was clear there was no terms for negotiation once I was fired upon. You are making it seem like you didn't fire upon me or my friend but you did. You did not try to approach us and you did not try to decline our situation instead you escalated the situation by killing my friend. You shooting intensified the situation and you continued to fire. As I said I am sorry it came to this result but there was no other terms for negotiation once you fired upon us and I said I killed the hostage. I was still being fired upon. There were no terms and no negotiations.

After careful review of all points of view and evidence given the staff team reviewing this report have come to the following:

Daniel Bishop as stated directly from the rules :

As seen above, YOU must make demands when you start getting shot at for taking a hostage. If the shooters fail to comply to those demands within a reasonable time frame only then can you kill a fully compliant hostage. Instead as quoted from your pov " Then My friend was shot and killed and front of me and as I ran away I did not say "Allah Hu Ahkbar" I shouted" I'll kill him" as in the hostage. Then another shot was fired at the wall I was behind. I turned and shot the hostage." Ill kill him is not a demand, it is a consequence of what would happen if a demand was made. Your friend was killed at 18:12:17 you shot the OP of this report eight seconds later at 18:12:25 no demands could have been made in this time frame. You killed a fully compliant hostage which was no threat to you, right after taking fire which is outlined in the rules as exactly as what not to do:

As for the accusation of meta-gaming and trolling  the reviewing team does not find enough evidence to effectively determine if these rules was indeed broken, as there is no video evidence to back up either side.

Daniel Bishop within the last month you have accumulated a total of twenty-five warning points, with this punishment it will push you over the edge to a total of thirty-five. Due to this you will here by be permanently removed from this community as is the standard punishment.
