Interview with RedSky

The idea of interview a community member is to take yet another step forward towards bringing the

community together.

The idea is to create a thread where we will interview a random community member.

During this interview we will ask the community member some questions regarding the community and how their DayZRP experience has been.

~Tell us something unique about yourself!~

During a time when I was playing with Hyde, we were talking about psychopaths and sociopaths. We both decided to take the hare test. And I scored above 30. Basicly labeling me a psychopath.

~How has your DayZRP experience been?~

It has been an amazing ride of emotions, almost unexplainable. In a very short time, I’ve started to love this community as a whole. Simply placed: it’s like cocaine, extremely addictive.

~Have you made any friends during your time in this community?~

Yes, a great amount. In reality more than I would be able to count. I’ve been able to count on them numerous times. Even when things become annoying or a bit hard. The Trust definitely comes to mind, lately I haven’t been hanging around with them as much but they are still like a family to me. A great internet family. The Faceless comes to mind as well, we’ve had some great and unique times. Strange conversations till past midnight over interesting subjects like politics, chess , mind games and manipulation.

~Is there something that you would like to see added to our community?~

More monthly and weekly contests, like the screenshot of the week. We have some amazing and talented people in terms of making videos, photoshopping, writing. I feel that having more tiny contests like this could bring fourth a lot more beautiful works made by the community and could put some people in the spotlight that otherwise might go unnoticed.

~What are some of your most memorable DayZRP experiences?~

My first meeting with Chief will probably be my most memorable forever. Even though it was a tiny event of me and my friend Mohawk being up on green mountain and suddenly running into a lone Chief. It will forever stay in mind. We ended up saving him from a zombie after a server crash, it knocked him out and we were just in time to shoot it. After that we went on a wild goose chase for about a month and a half, trying not to use Teamspeak to meet up. And funny enough we finally succeeded. Because of this I got to know a lot of people from the community.

~Do you have a video of your favorite roleplay moment you would like to share with us?~

No, sadly enough I do not. I only recently started recording more. However my favourite moment actually happened over the radio thread anyway. http://www.dayzrp.com/t-The-truth-about-Alyssa-Morgan-OPEN-FREQUENCY I enjoyed waiting for the responses on this radio thread way too much. It caused so much for my character personally and is probably one of the biggest things I’ve done in the community to this day.

~Do you have a video of your favorite funny moment ingame you would like to share with us?~

Even though this was a complete NVFL it was talked out over TS between DJhato and the person. This was during the 0.57 patch, for me forever remembered as the Reaper Vs Vigil patch. Personally, this moment was very funny to me because we had zero friendly fire and an almost down to the milli-second in sync firing squad unloading on the person.

~If a Zombie apocalypse would happen in Real life, what would you do and what items would try to take with you?~

I would probably travel up high to either Sweden or Norway, or more down south to Greece or Italy. both directions could have a favourable outcome, a lot of tiny islands or the cold that would potentially freeze all the zombies. If it would be a nuclear one or another kind I would have no idea. About items I dont really know I dont really have anything im attached to, so if a person is allowed I would take my girlfriend Fluffles with me.

~How would you describe your playstyle on our Servers?~

Dynamic. Extremely dynamic, Finnr is a highy manipulative psychopath, he will either go out of his way to kill someone or he will go out of his way to help someone. Whatever favours him more. However - personally - I tend to see myself more as a campfireRP kind of guy. But I definitely do enjoy the occasional PVP fights and torture sessions (as long as I’m not the one in chains).

~Is there anything in particular that you're looking forward to with DayZSA?~

Basebuilding. I can’t wait for basebuilding. The idea of finally properly being able to make a somewhat liveable tent camp out in the woods and RP with it. It makes me extremely impatient. I can only imagine what kind of things could come forth out of basebuilding. Proper roadblocks. Reinforced towns. Maybe finally a defendable safe haven. I cant wait.

~What do you feel is the best thing about DayZRP and our community?~

I know this might sound strange, but the staff team. It’s amazing how many people actively set forth to allow all of us to have such a great time RP’ing, making friends and stories. While spending their own free time, not only that but also cutting away time of their RP and real life, friends and family.

~Do you have any tips or hints for newcomers?~

Find help. And what I mean with this is: finding an expierenced RP’er and hanging around him. Learn the ropes from them. I’ve learned alot of things from Chief, Chaostica and Alitmos. It enabled me to be the RP’er I am today. Other than that, use the helpdesk and the many helpful people in the community whenever you have a question.

~Is there anything you would like to see more of within the community?~

Events. I feel like there have been too little events. I think there should be more things like the dynamic event put up a few days ago. Things were the entire community can join in to and only is partially scripted. Allowing newer players to join in on something with people they might otherwise have a more hostile encounter with. I feel like it would greatly benefit RP. If these tiny dynamic events would keep happening ocassionaly.
