Emerald Franko Posted February 14, 2016 Emerald Share Posted February 14, 2016 I'm about to buy a brand new PC from Overclockers and I wanted to see you guys opinion on it. I've spent a good couple of weeks trying to find a decent enough PC but it's quite hard. After some time I've decided to go with this "Titan Karambit" AMD, GTX PC. (£600 budget) What's your opinion on it? Any issues or not? (NOT going to build a PC myself) [spoiler=Chosen Specs] OTHER SPECS -Superflower FX 450w 80+ Bronze PSU -Gigabyte 970A-DS3P (soclet am3+) DRR3 ATX Motherboard -Prolimatech 48 Tower CPU cooler -7.1 HD Audio Link to comment
Guest
My advice: Go intel. AMD is a waste of money. Also get a bigger PSU for future upgrades. Also get 16GB of RAM. Link to comment

Sapphire Mental Posted February 14, 2016 Sapphire Share Posted February 14, 2016 Im with frank here, go for intel. My old pc was AMD and it had overheating issues and just overall shit performance. I now have a core i7 with a gtx960 and its soooo much better. Link to comment
Emerald Franko Posted February 14, 2016 Author Emerald Share Posted February 14, 2016 (NOT going to build a PC myself) Why? Because I've never built a PC before and I don't want to pay the price if anything goes wrong. I want it here and ready right in front of me. Building one is a future ambition. Link to comment
Sapphire Mathematics Posted February 14, 2016 Sapphire Share Posted February 14, 2016 Can't agree with going Intel. I have an AMD PC and it's well-regulated with cooling. It's cheaper than Intel but can easily surpass most overclocked Intel builds when it's overclocked. Link to comment
Cipher
Don't go with an AMD CPU for Dayz. I got the FX 6350 and I still regret it 2 years on. Link to comment

Building a PC is a lot easier than you think. Every piece has instructions that come with it, detailing where to put it and how. Don't go with an AMD CPU for Dayz. MVP Samaritan Posted February 14, 2016 MVP Share Posted February 14, 2016 If you're buying a new PC then I would future proof it and go with the new Skylake CPU (6600 or 6700), Z170 motherboard and DDR4 ram. I think it is worth paying the extra. However it would be so much cheaper to get the parts and build it yourself. If you're concerned about it, there are loads of good build vids on YouTube that walk you through it. Link to comment

You could get the individual pieces for a much cheaper price, And build them yourself by following a video on youtube. Companies who sell PC's will spike the price of the system only because it has their Name and because its prebuilt. Plus i would recommend if possible getting it without Wifi & OS, Ethernet cable which is faster and just get a Student OS or getting it by some other means. Link to comment

Emerald Franko Posted February 14, 2016 Author Emerald Share Posted February 14, 2016 Just to add, Would you guys recommend Intel i5 skylake, or not? Link to comment
LastPlaceHero
I really don't mean to sound like an asshole but building a pc isn't hard anymore. At worst you plug in maybe 5-10 things tighten a screw or two and just wait as your OS / software loads. Most things now are plug and play. The days of needing A+ certification to work n things is over. Hell I lost my screwdriver and installed my last GPU with just tweasers. What ever you choose best of luck to you. I like AMD but if you aren't good with INI or BIOS might stick to Intel Link to comment
gherig
Looks nice to me but I got a couple of side notes I would suggest getting a year or two warrenty beacause I hear that they can ship pretty bad and if you are using a internet store witch one im getting a new one as well and I need websites. MVP Samaritan Posted February 15, 2016 MVP Share Posted February 15, 2016 Just to add, Would you guys recommend Intel i5 skylake, or not? I have an i5 6600K and it is an awesome CPU, just remember that if you get a Skylake CPU then you'll have to get a Z170 motherboard and DDR4 ram which will add to the cost. I just think it is good to future proof your rig as you'll get more mileage out of it in the long run. Link to comment
Emerald Lucky1911 Posted February 15, 2016 Emerald Share Posted February 15, 2016 I have an AMD Build and i can tell you the cooling is my most common issue..even with fans and water cooling i still worry about it..Never had trouble with AMD..but intel really is the way to go Link to comment
