Chapter One

My name is Nikolai Chernov. I am a native to this beautiful country. This is my story.

I was raised into a peaceful family. My father was a doctor and my mother was a nurse, they worked at the Berezino hospital. We had a small house in the town of Olsha, despite my parents being rather wealthy. They had told me and my brother Ctibor that it was because they wanted to spend money on other things rather than a fancy house.

So that was pretty much how we lived. I spent the majority of my time reading about the CDF as I found them interesting. I enjoyed researching about their fights and involvement in civil wars. My parents had tried to get me interested in doctors and how complicated their procedures were and.. it just sounded like a bunch of nonsense to me. They did not approve of my interest towards the CDF. Over time, this became obvious, and so did my enthusiasm to join them. I felt like I was letting them down in a way, but I knew for sure that this was my future. The very next day, I enlisted for the CDF and was approved. I said goodbye to my family, and I left to fulfill my lifes wishes.

*A few months after the outbreak*

Everything went to shit. The CDF was no more. Some of us got out, fortunately I was one of those lucky ones. I felt like my life calling was just a giant lie, like I had wasted my whole life for this. I had nothing now... no family, no friends, no... hope.

I survived by myself for a few weeks, trying to avoid contact with others as everyone had gotten a lot more... aggressive since our government collapsed. I kept my radio on, however... I wanted to be aware of what was going on, who to avoid, places to avoid... this information was beneficial to my survival. Even then, I knew I needed to find some people to survive with, people I could trust. Over the next few days, I received radio transmissions of a group who called themselves the 'Serye Volki'. This is what the transmissions said.

"This is *bzzzt-* of the Serye Volki. If there are any Chernarussians left who are looking for a home, for friends, for a family.. you can look for us. Our god, the Serye Volk, will provide protection, shelter, and supplies for all who join our cause. Repeat.."

[align=left]I wanted to find these men and learn more about them. They sounded like the perfect group for me.

The next morning, I packed my things and started my search for the Serye Volki. I scouted the nearby towns to see if I could find any groups who fit their description, but what I saw instead, was truly enough fuel my anger. There was a group of 4 men, american by the sounds of their accents, surrounding a Chernarussian woman and her child, pointing weapons and yelling demands. I wanted to intervene, but there was no way I could help them...

She begged them, over and over again she begged them not to take her last rations of food. They snatched her bag of supplies and headed into the hills. I went down to her straight after the men left.

"Hey, are you alright? Did they hurt you?"

"N-no... t-t-they just took all our food and water... w-we have nothing now!"

She was crying, holding her child close to her. It broke my heart... I took my bag off and pulled out some cans of beans and two bottles of water.

"Here... take these. You need them more than I do."

T-thank you... thank you so much!"

I let out a small sad smile at the woman and her child as I picked up my bag and headed off.

I thought to myself, "How could those men do that? What the fuck is wrong with people... I need to find the Serye Volki, and fast."

I headed inland and made my way through all of the major towns looking for the Serye Volki.

I arrive at Novy Sobor, when I see another innocent civilian being help up by a group of foreigners. It looks like the same 4 men from last time. I decide to intervene this time, but as I get up, the men are gunned down. The mysterious heroes reveal themselves. They all have very similar uniforms, and have Chernarussian accents. After they have finished talking to the civilian, I head down and confront them.

"Are you men the Serye Volki?"

"That would be correct... but who are you?"

"My name is Nikolai, I'm Chernarussian and I heard your radio message. I've been wanting to speak with you, if I may."

They tell me to explain who I am as we walk back to their camp. I explain to them that I am a simple survivor... I tell them about the men they just killed, what they did to that poor woman and her child. I tell them i want to join them.

After we get back to their camp, I am introduced to their leader, Alexander Dukov. He expains to me more about their past and their beliefs, one of them being that they want to rid our country of foreigners who pose as a threat to us. After what I had seen those americans do, I was more than willing to kill some foreigners under the name of the Serye Volki.

Chapter Two

They treated me as if we were family. We looked after each other, and we protected other Chernarussians who needed help.

We had met another group of Chernarussians who called themselves the 'Dveri'. They had very similar objectives to us, however they were open to helping the foreigners. We did not completely approve of this, but we both had common enemies and no reason to hate each other, so we decided to work together.

One day, the leaders of both groups had a meeting, a meeting to which would change who I am, what I stand for.

They wanted both groups to unify, and operate under the one name: Zbor. I was a little curious as to what this would mean for me, and the rest of the Serye Volki. When we headed back to camp, Alexander explained to us what was going to happen. The leader of the Dveri, Miroslav Kovac, wanted both groups to come together and fall under the one name. If this was to happen, however, we would have to follow their foosteps regarding foreigners. Of course, that would be against our beliefs and our past, but Alexander insisted on making it happen. Most of us did not like this. The ones who didn't, had packed their supplies and said their final goodbyes. As for me, I followed behind them.

The Serye Volki was no more.

Upon joining the Serye Volki, we had sworn loyalty to Alexander. However we felt like the Alexander we knew, was gone. We knew that the newly founded 'Zbor' would not take lightly to traitors, so we decided to split up and go our separate ways. I survived on my own for a few weeks, but I was starting to get sick from the cold. My muscles started to weaken and I began to throw up my food. A man called Victor Cruz found me in a pile of vomit and blood, he called for his men to help me up. He gave me fresh water, a blanket and started a fire for us to sit around. I had explained to him what had happened to the Serye Volki and that there is a possibility I'm being hunted by the biggest Chernarussian group in Chernarus.

This was the first time I had ever felt comfortable with foreigners. They had explained to me that they are a cartel who came here for a deal, and the outbreak happened when they got here. In a way, I felt like they were my new family. After all if it wasn't for them, I'd probably be dead by now.

Victor said he wanted some work in exchange for his hospitality and supplies. I of course agreed to this, as I needed a new family to survive with. He introduced me to his partner, Dr Hope Pisces, who had her own team of medics who were stationed up at the Novi Sobor summer camp. None of them were Chernarussian, however I could sense that they were good people with good intentions. I befriended all of them, and Victor and I have been living with them ever since.

Chapter Three

Dr. Hope is missing.. Drew is gone.. Dragoslav is gone.. Victor is gone.. The camp remains empty most of the time. I'm gone for a few days and everyone leaves? What did I miss..

I managed to find Dejan in Kabanino. I didn't even recognise him, he didn't even have the white armband on. He told me that shit went bad but, he couldn't tell me why. He was with a group of Chernarussians who I soon befriended. They didn't seem to have too much interest in me to begin with, but as soon as I mention Volki.. they came running. I told them about my times with the Serye Volki, and to my surprise they were quite interested. One man who I didn't get the name of showed much interest in me and is looking forward to getting to know me. I think I may have finally found my new Chernarussian family.

I still wonder what happened to my friends from the summer camp. I will be keeping my eye out, and I hope that they are all alright. I shall not forget them, or the times we shared. But, it is time for me to move on. The leaders of this group call themselves the Tulaci's, and I am looking forward to becoming one of them.

Godspeed my medical friends..

Chapter Four

It has been a while since I have written in the book. Its cover is starting to peel and some of the pags are starting to tear. No matter, I will continue.

I have been through a lot with my new family. Time after time we have proven to be a strong force against the foreign plague. Every day I spend with them is full of gunfights, abusing foreigners, and generous amounts of alcohol. of course that's not all it is though. We have our occasional meeting with other native groups which usually consists of us saving their asses. Or in the rare occasion, them fighting us. However it is comforting to know that we are not the only native group still alive who want to rid our fatherland of the foreign pigs.

Despite all this, there are some days where I wake up at Svatyne and the place is empty. On those days, I usually don't hear back from them until late at night. While they're away I normally spend my time with my friend Zeke. Which is... interesting, to say the least. Bit of a showman. He has some explicit techniques when it comes to torture. I've seen this guy cut toes off and stitch them to peoples heads. Needless to say, I find his company amusing. Although sometimes I think his actions are unneeded. There have been a few occasions where I have wanted to stop him, but for whatever reason I get these damn headaches when i'm about to...

Drew and I are looking for Dejan. It has been weeks since we last saw him.

He told us that he will be visiting Dr. Hope in the morning to arrange a meeting with his brother Dragoslav. We were able to speak to Dragoslav on the radio to confirm that he is okay. he was under the impression that Dejan and I were hunting Hope. Dejan was going to sort this shit out once and for all...

But of course, that is not what happened now, is it?

When Drew and I woke, Dejan was gone. We did all we could to contact him but, it was useless. Even Dragoslav was unreachable. Drew is under the suspicion that Hope and her new little friends have something to do with Dejan's disappearance. While the rest of the group do not share these suspicions, Drew and I are keeping a very close eye out for this bitch.

She will tell us where the Novak's are. I will make sure of it.

I need to find a way to explain this to Victor...

Chapter Five

*Nikolai sits on his bed in Novy Svatyne as he prepares for the night*

This whole writing thing is really good at making me tired. I believe it is, relaxing. A way to vent, so to speak.

I fear something is happening to my health. I keep getting these migranes, completely out of nowhere. At first I thought it was nothing but, it started happening more often. Sometimes.. I find myself passing out. When I wake my migrane is gone, but.. I'm wearing a balaclava with a skull painted on it. It's, odd, because I don't remember putting it on. I feel as though Zeke may have some more information as this all started happening when we started hanging out a lot more. Maybe the steak he gave me was.. tainted? I'm not sure. He is a strange character but, I do not think he would do that on purpose. I do however believe that I may have a health issue.. perhaps I could go see my old friend Dr. Hope... Ha! That's a funny joke.

We still have no leads on the Novak's location. Nobody seems to know anything about them, it's almost as if they never existed. Could that be? Could they have just been a figment of my imagination the whole time?

No, that's ridiculous... I'm being absurd.

What if they are? What if they were never real?

Argh.. what is happening! I can hear a voice, in my head.. it's telling me these things!

I need to relax.. I'm overdoing myself here.. I think Vaclav is looking over at me..

"Chernov? Are you okay over there?"

"Ano.. I'm okay, just a bit of a headache.."

I need to get some sleep.. Hopefully I'll feel better in the morning.
