The idea of interview a community member is to take yet another step forward towards bringing the

community together.

The idea is to create a thread where we will interview a random community member.

During this interview we will ask the community member some questions regarding the community and how their DayZRP experience has been.

This time I interviewed:

NishiUrban

Thank you so much for participating!

~ Tell us something unique about yourself! ~

It's not exactly unique, but I fancy the concept of Psychology. I'm not an expert, professional, and have no formal training. However it's definitely something I can be very passionate about, and I reflect on daily. As well as something I research in my free time, as a bit of a hobby I suppose.

~ How has your DayZRP experience been? ~

Having come here from public servers, DayZRP has become for me what this game is all about. I've only been here a little over a year, but I've had the pleasure of meeting a lot of amazing role-players, and genuinely have enjoyed myself here. Everything I am currently RP wise, is thanks to my experiences in game with community members here, and I'm grateful for that.

~ Have you made any friends during your time in this community? ~

I would like to believe I've made quite a lot of friends during my time here, certainly too many to name them all. But Cid, Aurora, Arcarius, Desmond, Kattica, Brad, Nocheluz, Roach, and Volke are some I've spent a large amount of time with. There are of course others, and I'm sure they know who they are. As well as, unfortunately, some who are no longer around.

~ Is there something that you would like to see added to our community? ~

I believe Joffrey had made a suggestion about a mandatory RP class, for people who have been banned in a report. I feel like when someone gets banned for breaking a rule, the general idea is that it is their responsibility to research the rules over again and understand how to correct their mistake and not repeat it. However something like a traffic school equivalent may prove useful in educating them on the specific infraction, and how to improve or avoid it in the future, while also answering any questions they may have in regard to it.

~ What are some of your most memorable DayZRP experiences? ~

I've had a lot of memorable experiences, it's hard to choose. I would have to say there were a lot of emotional times with my character Jade Graves, in the Unnamed. In particular, there was a gradual build up story wise for the character, as they had cannibalized prior to meeting the group. So after months of building IG relations, she eventually revealed this to her family, most of which had a bad history with cannibals. The reactions, and tension when they realized someone they believed was an innocent and childish person had done something they detested were fantastic.

~ Do you have a video of your favorite roleplay moment you would like to share with us? ~

[video=youtube]

There's been a lot of moments I have enjoyed, but this one always stuck out to me as one particularly emotion driven where I've felt in sync with my character.

~ Do you have a video of your favorite funny moment ingame you would like to share with us? ~

[video=youtube]

There's way too many times something funny has happened in game for me, the number of 'hugs' videos and videos like the one above, where Jade and Arcarius prank Aurora with pink dresses is just an example.

~ If a Zombie apocalypse would happen in Real life, what would you do and what items would try to take with you? ~

That's a really tricky question, and something I've talked with friends IRL about! I would like to believe my strength is talking things out, and trying to reason with people, so to that end I would have to find myself some people ASAP that I would hopefully be able to convince into surviving together. As for things I might bring, that I personally own, perhaps my hatchet, machete, or the collection of assorted knives I have. They might be helpful?

~ How would you describe your playstyle on our Servers? ~

I try to play a range of different characters, but as for personal OOC playstyle. I try to avoid killing someone in game if possible (outside of the chaos of firefights of course), a lot of my characters usually come off as 'too nice', even when I'm trying to make a 'bad guy' character. This is probably because I consider talking things out, and manipulating others verbally to be more beneficial than brute force OOCly.

~ Is there anything in particular that you're looking forward to with DayZSA? ~

Like a lot of people I'm looking forward to a finished product, not just for the obvious reasons, but for the fact that the modding community will then be able to step in and continue to make improvements on DayZSA. Think of all those awesome civilian clothes that might get added someday. :D

~ What do you feel is the best thing about DayZRP and our community? ~

As someone who hadn't role-played using a game, but rather came from a forum that role-played, I don't have a lot of experience with gaming communities that RP let alone with ones that use DayZ. However I do feel there is something special here, and I highly doubt it is only the game. There are a lot of amazing people here, both in the general community and in Staff, and without them DayZ would have just been another. Loot up, firefight, die and respawn, repeat. Simulator for me.

~ Do you have any tips or hints for newcomers? ~

I would have to refer to this post here in regard to the question. It might not cover all the questions, but more than anything never be afraid to ask a Staff member for clarification on something!

~ Is there anything you would like to see more of within the community? ~

It might be too much to ask, but having towns that are actually run by a group and maintained have always been something I've admired. Although I'm sure it's insanely hard to run something like that, while sustaining it, it's definitely something I would like to see more of.

Amazing interview, I really like your idea about giving rule breakers a "Mandatory RP class' as well as you liking the subject psychology. As a person who is doing research on sociopaths for his character, I can definitely tell that the subject itself isnt something easy and mundane.

Amazing read, thanks for doing the interview

Had to stop by and say great interview Nishi. This guy is a one of the greatest roleplayers we can have in this community. He deserves this spotlight so much. I am proud to have had the chance to RP with such a great guy and friend.

That's sort of an inside joke for Aurora from the Unnamed, she really didn't like those pink dresses. ;)

Thank you everyone for the support! I'm glad that there are people who think so highly of me, but at the end of the day it's thanks to those very people in most instances that I've been shaped into who I am now. I can't thank you guys, and the community, enough for helping me become the kind of rper that you want to compliment. :D

Apologies for the late response, I've just gotten back from a break.

Thanks for the shout out. Also that video is one of my favorites too. To be quite honest, I've learned quite a bit from you. But I must say PW is a skill that Lucia and Ivy have picked up and wield very well. So thanking YOU for all that you've done to make me a better RP'er as well :)
