RP2: Camp Raid North of Sinistok Time: within the past 3 days

Recommended Posts

Server and location: S2 North of Sinistok

Approximate time and date of the incident (SERVER TIME): 1/31/2016 - 2/2/2016 time N/A

Your in game name: Brian Sherbino

Names of allies involved: Ben Kerry

Name of suspect/s: N/A

Friendly/Enemy vehicles involved (if any): None

Additional evidence? (video/screenshot): Image1 Image2

Detailed description of the events: I was told by Ben Kerry, that our campground had been raided. We are a small group of 3 who haven't quite left the North Western region for a long time. So I was dumbfounded that someone would have an actual reason to come after us. So, I stopped searching for a car and headed back immediately. Upon arrival, I saw 3 of our regular tents missing img1 (contents Included) and all 3 of our Car tents img2 (contents included). There were various protector cases lying around with misc junk that usually nobody would want to carry. Now, correct me if I am wrong, but I thought there was some kind of rule against raiding a groups camp/base for no reason? And from my knowledge the only people with probable cause to attack us, were a group of men who had robbed us at the airfield. but that was almost a 3 weeks ago. Now if no such rule is in place, I apologize for wasting your time. Also, if the rule DOES exist, but only for OFFICIAL groups, that seems extremely unfair. But, your decisions, not mine. Thank you for reading this, I hope a conclusion can be made shortly.

Thanking you for the gear.

We found your camp in the woods, we needed supplies for are group, so we loaded up two cars, packed up the tents, and left, not much to it. I don't understand why a report would be made here? We don't know if it's an offical or unoffical's group camp site or not, we didn't see any notes, nothing stating who's camp it is.

Ill just pot a POV for my group really fast. We got word of a camp north of Sinistok so we went to investigate. Once arriving at camp we removed the things we wanted (Gun's, Ammo, And supplies.) We are in the middle of building a super camp so we are searching and gathering all tents we can. So we swooped them up and move them to a undisclosed location for the storage of equipment. If we were griefing we would have just burnt everything in the camp and left if behind to troll you. But we had a need for it so we took it.

Not to sound like you were doing anything wrong. but you left 1 tent. No food, no water, nothing. 1 tent and some rubbing alcohol with a burlap sack and an offroad tire. So that reasoning doesn't seem very solid to me.

The only reason we didn't take the last tent was because two grenades that may have been rigged were in it. Camps get raided. Sadly this time we found yours and we needed the tents. So my question is what rule are you accusing me and my group of breaking?

Well, considering this is a robbery (of sorts). The 'robbers' are supposed to leave the victims with at least basic supplies. Food, water, the simple stuff. In which all you left us, were a tent, grenades (which arent actually trapped) and a bottle of rubbing alcohol. None of that seems very edible do you? Not without making someone sick that is.

Clearly me and you have different understandings of the rules so i'm just going to step back and let staff take over from here. If staff has any further questions for me I will happily answer.

  • Leave the victim(s) with a realistic chance of survival.
  • Providing sufficient food and drinks to allow the victim(s) to survive while in your care and for a reasonable time after.
  • Defend them from external threats (like zombies).

[align=justify]I'll just leave this here.

Johhny,

We will call you in the moment we need your pov on leaving that tent without food and water.

The above is taken from the rules.

OP, the rules you quoted are about hostages and the caretaking for hostages during a hostage situation.

As your tents do not require food and water, they can be left without supplies.

This report is about your camp being found and subsequently being dismantled by other people who are needing your stuff for their own camp. If you want your camp to be protected, you and your group have to make sure that somebody is present there 24/7.

If you have a camp setup away from any settlement or militairy base, you are allowed to protect it with traps and mines.

We as staff do not see a rulebreak at this time, how do you want to continue with this report?

I told one of the guys involved already, I could care less about the tents. But absolutely no food? Come on, it's not like I stored my food there for no reason. It's still the same concept as the hostage situation. Hostages are primarily the case in robberies. Robberies happen all over the place, in the streets or at home. OR when nobody is home. So is it really that hard to treat a home robbery with the same 'respect/rule following' as a hostage robbery? They already left a tent, was a few cans of food really going to make or break that robbery? I think not.

As I told in my previous post, those rules refer to hostage situations and the duties hostagetakers have towards their victims.

You, nor your friends, were taken hostage. Therefor, there is no obligation to make sure that you are taken care off. What you carry on your character is your responsibility, not the responsibility of the people taking your camp. You choose not to carry enough food and water with you, therefor you are the only person to be blaimed for that.

Again, how do you want to proceed with this report?

Alright, then I will close this report.

But, since I do not have the feeling that you actually undertand why we do not see a rulebreak I strongly encourage you to come to TS and have a chat regarding this rule.
