"Looking for person" thread/section

While I was scrolling through our forums, I couldn't find any thread like this so I decided to bring it up in the Suggestions section. It isn't something that needs to be added in our community but I thought that it might be a good thing. Maybe not, who knows. Anyway... as I was saying I was looking for the thread "Looking for person" or something like that but failed to do so. "What's this thread exactly?" you may ask? Well, I was curious if there is a thread or maybe even a section where people can look for a certain person IG. Okay, that's not very helpful. In other words - let's assume that you create certain character and you'd like to see someone from his past IG, like long lost buddy or someone from his family, etc. Basicly someone who would be played by another player. What do you do then? You could post something like that in this kind of section or thread and then wait if there will be someone willing to fill this role. In theory, it'd be helpful not only for the person looking for a character connected in some way with his own but also for someone who is thinking about what character he/she could play. This person would see "Oh, this guy is looking for someone who could play his cousing. Hm, maybe I'll give it a try."

That's basicly the whole idea. Like I said, it isn't something that needs to be added IMO but I thought that it may be a cool thing to see. Anyway, I decided to post this idea here to see what the rest of the community will think about this so feel free to share your opinions.

People usually post in this thread http://www.dayzrp.com/t-Whose-roleplay-did-you-enjoy-today? to say that the character whoever played it, did a good job and they had fun with them. This is about the only thread that actually helps people find other people.

Also, you can always go here http://www.dayzrp.com/searchplayer type in a character name and try and find the person that plays the character that you met.

He's saying this is a "revival thread" for characters. Like if he said "i sure would like to see Johnny Jones again" I could switch back to playing Johnny Jones again.

No, no, no. This isn't what I meant guys. Imagine that you create a police officer who is looking for his lost family (no references to Rick Grimes!) and this is a goal of this character IG. Okay so what I was saying is that there would be a thread where this player could post that he's looking for someone who could play as his wife and/or child and then if someone would be willing to fill one of this roles he could PM this guy. This is just one of the examples. In this thread you would post that you're looking for someone who could play as your character's brother, sister, cousin, parent, friend from the army, work, etc., basicly someone who is important for your characters story.

Ah. Okay. I see what you're saying now. Seems like a good idea. A master character recruiting thread.

Most people just make a thread asking people if they want to play a character for them, then someone usually accepts.

But a master thread sounds nice.

a thread sounds good, I always want to get inspiration for characters I want to play. and I wouldn't mind if I can find a brother or a sister on the forums from time to time

Fells strange for me that it wasn't used but it seems that no one found it useful. Well, like I said in my first post - it isn't something that needs to be add, it depends on how much community thinks it'll be useful.

Your statement is kind of a lie because this is my first suggestion and you're saying there was multiple suggestions. Honestly, this thread is so old and so "dead" for like a month already so I doubt there will be much of an interest in this.  Like I said in the first post - it isn't something that needs to be add to this community but it'd help some people, I think. Of course as you said, it all depends on community's opinion.

I like the idea, and I think it could potentially have good occasional use. Though, I do not see it getting near enough use for it to warrant its own thread 'section' - Its own thread, maybe. Just a thread that functions similar to the Looking for Group thread, put up your necessary details and allow people to PM you if they're interested.

We have a "Survivors Looking For Groups" thread in the Groups Forums, but no thread for "Individuals looking for Individuals." I think people mostly end up starting a one time thread, or PMing friends to ask for a hand if they need something. This type of thread you are suggesting, and Fish Socks used before, would give everyone a chance to apply and try out new things/roles.

So Sir Tewudin, I stand by my original claim that this is a good suggestion, coming from you, and I would be willing to help get it going again.

Yes, I saw Fish Socks thread and I also thought it's kind of too personal. I was thinking about a thread like "Suvivors Looking For Groups" you now mentioned but more about looking for a specific individual, like a brother of your character, close friend, wife, cousing, maybe old partner in crime etc. I think it'd be a good idea but we will see what the rest of the community will say about it.

P.S I don't remember when you gave me first beanz but I was curious and checked - you gave me them because you thought that I'm a nice guy and that I'm very active on forums for a newcomer. (I hope I won't be punished for such Offtopic in here but you brought this topic so it'll be your fault if it happens!)

I appreciate this Idea. It's an actuall need! I've seen people that are looking for friends and/or family. My character, by the way, is looking for his lost friend, but no ine is actually playing as him. It's a great idea, but I don't think a single thread would do. We can always create those Sub-Forums for that. Great suggestion mate! Gonna keep an eye out on this thread to see if it actually become a thing!
