Nominee requirement

Just wondering about the minimum requirement for being selected for final votes.

Isn't 10 too much? It will lead to VERY few being put up for the final vote, and it seems with the current situation a lot of people are jumping on the bandwagon and nominating the same person.

Last year there was a good amount of people being nominated due to a person only being able to be nominated once and having no minimum requirement.

So how come the 10 nomination requirement was added this year?

For the simple reason that the final vote will have less options, will be less confusing and the results will be spread out better. Last year we had so many options, each received 5 votes and there were 2 or 3 that had 40+ votes, making all those votes that went for less popular alternatives wasted. I hope that this time the vote spread will be better.

And to be honest, if someone can't get 10 people to back his yearly achievements, then the question is are they really worthy of a yearly award, you know what I mean?

Yeah I get you, lets hope more people nominate otherwise the end vote is going to be pretty bland. I still however do think 10 is too much.

Cheers for the clarification

I agree with you.

I guess we will have to see how it goes.

I understand the purpose of having a higher number of nominations needed before the person who is nominated can be put in the vote, but I do think that 10 might be a little high. I personally would think a good number to settle at might be 8 nominations needed to be put on the ballot. I could be completely wrong though, and 10 might be a good number for this. We will just have to see how far it goes. I know for some of the awards there seems to be a lower number of people making nominations. I'm not sure exactly as to what is causing this, but it makes me wonder how many people are actually going to get to 10 in some of the categories.
