The 2nd Commando Regiment was stationed in Takmyr as part of the international task force deployed to help combat civil unrest after the NATO invasion succeeded. They patrolled the nearby area, and kept a close eye on the populace to prevent an insurgency. Things were going smoothly for the regiment, all up until late 2014 when they started receiving radio transmissions from a nearby country.

[align=left]"že infekce se šíří , opakuji, že nákaza se šíří ! Žádost o okamžitou pomoc"

[align=left]"The infection spreads, I repeat that the infection is spreading! Request for immediate help" Said Toby.

[align=left]"Are you sure?" Asked James. "That doesn't make too much sense."

[align=left]"Its a czech transmission, Sir. Translations arn't always perfect, but.. that's what he said. What infection though?" Replied Toby.

[align=left]"I'm not sure, but I'm going to find out. Try and locate where that came from, when you do come straight to me."

[align=left]"You got it sir."

A couple of hours later, Lieutenant James Morgan called a meeting with his men.

"Alright guys, we have new orders. We received an unknown radio transmission a few hours ago. Corporal Toby over here was able to translate it. I spoke with our local allies and they seem to have a little idea of whats going on. There's a country to our east called Chernarus, which recently became victim to a deadly infection which is rumored to make people incredibly violent and unnaturally strong. Some say it even reanimates the deceased. Whether or not thats true, I guess we'll find out. Seeing as we are a big squad, the others believe we should travel there to assist the CDF forces until they get more help. According to the locals around here, it is highly possible that the UN may be on their way to help, but it will take them a lot longer to get there than it would take us. These guys here have everything under control and told me they'd be alright without us. So, get your shit together, we leave at 0600."

*0500 hours*

"Pack the chopper up boys. We leave in one hour."

The men took their departure from Takmyr as they began their long journey to the country of Chernarus.

They headed to the southern coastline of Takistan and made their way along the border of the mainland. They stopped every few hours to stop and refuel. While doing that, they started to notice that some small villages along the way were looking empty. They didn't think much of it as they were constantly distraced by each other, talking about what may lie ahead for them.

A few days pass, and the regiment make one final stop in a nearby village close to the Chernarussian border.

"Well, we're out of fuel. Fuck sake, who was meant to pack all the reserves?!"

The regiment went quiet..

"Fuck it, it doesn't matter. According to the map, we're nearly at the border. Lets just look around this place for a working vehicle or two. Meet back here in 30 minutes."

The regiment split up and scavanged for supplies. They found cans of food, clothes, some a pack of water bottles and a transport truck covered in blood. The truck was in working condition and had spare fuel in the back. The regiment used it to travel the rest of the journey to the border.

Once they arrived at the border, they noticed a makeshift fortified wall that had been completely abandoned. As they approached, they had a clear view into Chernarus. They saw corpses stacked almost 2 meters high, burnt out vehicles and destroyed buildings. The stench was horrific, enough to make their eyes water. One of the men saw a person slowly walking in the distance. He called out to them, but there was no reply. The person stopped in their tracks, looked at the man and slowly started sprinting towards him. He called out to the rest of the regiment. They saw the person sprinting towards them.

"At arms!"

The regiment aimed at the sprinting man, shouting commands that he refused to listen to. One of the men shot him in the leg in panic. The person fell to the ground, and the man was yelled at by the Lieutenant. Toby saw the person get back up and start running towards them again, only this time he was limping from the shot.

"Uhh sir... SIR!! Look"

James looked over and saw the sprinting man. He ordered his men to shoot once in the chest. The man then fell to the ground once more and stopped moving. The regiment lowered their weapons and began to relax. James looked at the man. He was covered in blood and cuts and bruises. He got closer to inspect further, when the man slowly lifted his head. His eyes were fully bloodshot, he slowly started growling at James. He was surprised, shocked that this man could still be alive after being shot in the chest so many times. The regiment stood there in panic, as they watched James shoot the man in the head.

The regiment did not notice that the earlier gunshots had attracted the infected nearby, and were quickly heading towards them. There were too many to fight, so James ordered the regiment to split up into groups of 3 and to escape the horde.

Most of the men managed to escape, keeping casualties to a minimum. The regiment was separated, and they were alone. James made a local radio broadcast once a week, calling out to the regiment with a meeting location.

As months went by, the transmissions became less frequent, and James had began to lose hope.

But not yet. He's still trying. He wants his men back, and will do anything to find them.
