Talking in TS

So i don't use TS all that often but when i do i can't mute it when im in DayZ itself. For example, i will be travelling along and i come across a person, i alert the channel that i saw that person and went to mute. I don't hear the "Microphone Muted" guy so i have to minimise, mute and then open the game, vice versa to un-muting it too. I had a friend that told me how to do it a while ago but i forgot what he told me

:(

If anyone could help me, it would be much appreciated !!

You could try assigning a hotkey to mute your microphone so you don't have to tab out :)

Steps:

Options > Hotkeys > Add > Toggle microphone mute - then press the key you want it to be and press ok

Hope this helped :)

You can do the same to mute your sound also just make sure you add a new hotkey and press "toggle speaker mute"

I do. With the Razer Deathadder, it has a back and forward button which i guess is to be used in browsers and stuff. I use that to mute it, it usually works but for some reason it won't mute without me manually minimizing and then pressing the mute button :(

Try removing the hotkey and add a different one, maybe a number pad key you don't ever need. If that doesn't work, come back and let me know. Then we will find a different solution somehow

You should check on Settings->options -> notifications to see if you actually have enabled  the voice option that tells you for example "microphone muted"

Also this might help you out: a little tutorial how to set up short keys on TS.

Apparently that doesn't work, damn. I swear it had something to do with settings, probably wrong. Thanks for suggestions though :D

Try using a key on your keyboard for the hotkey for example I use the decimal on the numpad which works fine for me and I don't have any problems with that.

Let me know if that works out for you

Take a look at what ronknopf said above, if not then I am out of Ideas :/

This ^

You can find this in the settings under hotkeys I believe.

I use alt 1 to mute sound and if you press it again it brings it back.

As Phoenix has stated the best thing you can do is set up some hotkeys. To do this: open TS, click on "Settings" --> "Options"

Once you do this go down to "Hotkeys" as you can see here:

Click on this button:

It will bring you to this screen:

Go to "Microphone." Double-click "Toggle Microphone Mute" and it will prompt you to select a key to bind.

Once you choose a key, hit "Ok" and you should be good!

Let me know if this helps!

EDIT: People too fast. Once you are on the hotkey page, try to delete your existing bind and change the key you are using.

Try to change it to a different key, try to set it to a mouse key if you have extra buttons on your mouse.

Glad I was able to fix your issue over teamspeak.

Just needed to run both DayZ and TS3 in administrator.

/solved
