The idea of interview a community member is to take yet another step forward towards bringing the

community together.

The idea is to create a thread where we will interview a random community member.

During this interview we will ask the community member some questions regarding the community and how their DayZRP experience has been.

This week we interviewed:

~Tell us something unique about yourself!~

I am the only DayzRP player with an unfinished monorail in my incomplete volcano base.

~How has your DayZRP experience been?~

Initially i struggled to find my place in the RP servers. Having come from public servers i was one of the players who whitelisted simply to avoid being KOS'd on the coast. My first character was essentially me, boring to play and i suffered "gear fear". I also made errors (ooc voip, metagaming names from text RP etc etc)

When i decided to make Percival Winsor it was to enable interactions easily, i immersed myself as a peaceful old man, i found it much easier to meet people and interact as i felt i had nothing to lose and everything to gain. I began to value RP over gear. From January this year to September i played almost daily, streaming most of my play and thoroughly enjoying being a part of the community here.

~Have you made any friends during your time in this community?~

I have met many people during my time here, i would like to think i have made some friends. The sad thing is the amount of drama has meant that not only have i made friends i have also made and lost friends... que sera sera.

~Is there something that you would like to see added to our community?~

A difficult question, perhaps i would like to see more tolerance towards new members and less community fracturing. No idea how to implement though!

One thing i do miss is the community being able to post on report threads. I understand the reasons why it is no longer allowed but in some ways it stops the community airing its opinions on what are in many cases important issues for everyone (eg the recent report about suiciding for spawns/nvfl etc)

~What are some of your most memorable DayZRP experiences?~

I had some amazing RP experiences during 0.54/0.55 with the Colony at Hickory Hill, the difficulty of survival during 0.55 was inspirational to the colonists. Sid, Johnny M, Harry, Mizztakn, Regis Khan (o7) and many more. The ongoing events with the SBCU were an amazing experience. We had great experiences with Reapers, BWM, the UN, the 501st and many many more.

One other occasion springs to mind, Percy had suffered a terrible day at the Colony so left to find some peace, he met an American man who had awesome RP and some epic timing and understanding. IC he wanted to take Percys mind off things so we visited the cliffs around Berezino and after a glorious evening of RP he fell off the cliffs to his death (sounds sad but it wasnt!) Turned out the guy was one of Joffreys alts - It has been said before but there is no doubt he is one of the most talented roleplayers in the community.

~Do you have a video of your favorite roleplay moment you would like to share with us?~

Well i stream and make videos for YT so there are many videos available! However i think the Colony Vs the SBCU movie i made recently is my personal favourite.

~Do you have a video of your favorite funny moment ingame you would like to share with us?~

Again i record most gameplay via streaming, i guess this was my funniest game moment. Regis Khan (o7) and the bear trap.

I had drunk a few Jamesons that afternoon!

~If a Zombie apocalypse would happen in Real life, what would you do and what items would try to take with you?~

Panic and get drunk. I would be an early victim. I havent got the energy i used to have!

~How would you describe your playstyle on our Servers?~

I have played a few characters - the most demanding and intense was playing as Anthony Agonist - alone. His MO is to initiate on anyone - an attempt to give real gritty hostile RP which would often end in death at the hands of unheard allies using ts to exact KOS rights.....

Most people will know me from playing Percy who i guess has the playstyle "peaceful"!

~Is there anything in particular that you're looking forward to with DayZSA?~

Like most people, base building and true persistence. I am also looking forward to my walking stick, Hicks has promised Percy a walking stick! More custom character models would be really nice, it would be cool to have a fat character for example (right Jamie?)

~What do you feel is the best thing about DayZRP and our community?~

The best thing about this place is the possibilities ahead. The community seems a little fractured currently. For some reason there seems to be "cool kids vs nerds" - The best thing about the community is that we are all NERDS! We should be pulling together to make better RP experiences for us all rather than trying to belittle someone for having a white name on a forum etc. (sorry rant over)

~Do you have any tips or hints for newcomers?~

Yes, play a simple character with little backstory planned. Do not get too involved with a huge backstory. Some of the best RPers i have met here have never mentioned their character history to me. Try to RP each moment as realistically as possible and stay in the moment.

~Is there anything you would like to see more of within the community?~

Yes, i would like to see more attempts at peaceful, pacifist or even just "normal" people being RPd. It is a cliche to say everyone is a soldier or a psycho but it's also a fact.

In all honesty i would love to see some of the "famous hostile RPers" around here play a peaceful character. The division between players is a major concern to me. It always seems to come down to US vs THEM. I honestly believe you cannot judge someone until you have "walked a mile in their shoes" -

This of course works both ways!
