Large mp3 files & puush

Recommended Posts

So I have few questions about sharing mp3 files and puush itself.

1. Does puush have a limited transfer per month? If people will be playing mp3 files will the amount per day/month of it being played limited by fixed transfer amount?

2. I've started a small side project - Radio Refuge. And the first file was ~17MB and that's almost whole puush space available to me for free. Is there any place where you can get more for free or should I look for something with subscripction?

Thanks for your answers in advance, have a great weekend!

I am using Dropbox for my mp3 files.

Puush is used for images mostly, and smile files. I'd suppose they have restrictions on data consumption.

Like Terra said, just use dropbox. It's free, and all you have to do is make your mp3 file public and copy the link.

Awesome! Thank you for your replies. I've installed dropbox but I had problem with aquiring a correct link that could be use in [mp3] [./mp3]. Gonna play with dropbox later today to make it work. Thank you for all your help, that was quick! My problem is solved :)

Maybe this page will help http://puush.me/faq

 Total account storage Unlimited

Maximum filesize : 25mb

do not know if this is the answer you're looking for

One follow up on the dropbox. Is it possible to set mp3 to 'public' on the free dropbox or only on the premium one?

Edit:

quote found online:

Update : Dropbox no longer allowing to create public folder for free users, you should be using Dropbox Pro or business plan now for that.

So apparently new free users are not able to use a public folder, only people that have created the account before changing the rules of public folder.

from what I can see it free it's like when you take a file from dropbox and share it on facebook

https://www.dropbox.com/help/383

is the answer you're looking for

Well I know how to share a link to file on dropbox. The problem I'm having with free dropbox is the link that looks like this -> https://www.dropbox.com/s/usew1ncvz1p8sv0/radiorefugecompilation3.mp3?dl=0

This link doesn't work when put into "mp3' brackets (so it's displayed as a mp3 player). According to information I've found the NEW free users aren't able to use public folders on dropbox. So I guess I still have a problem.

you can still use http://puush.me there you can upload everything you want but it can not be bigger than 25mb

Total account storage Unlimited

Maximum filesize : 25mb

so why not just use it

that is, you can upload 100000 files but files must not be more than 25 mb each

I'll think this is solved if there are more just post here and i will make it unsolved

Well that sounds good. I guess I got the size limit wrong, I thought it was the space avaible, so that's a mistake on my end. The only question remains is if the mp3 can be played over and over again without exceeding some kind of limit (transfer limit/month or something). You can mark this as solved I guess but please let it reamain open, maybe someone will have something interesting to add.

My only concern is that at this point, after the mp3 was played few times by people visiting the thread, when I try to play it right now it stops around 3-4mins (directly after posting the thread the whole mp3 played till the end after it was freshly uploaded). I'm not sure if it's a problem on my end or if there's really some kind of transfer limit per day for the puush. I will try to find an answer to that sooner or later and will most likely post it here for future references.

I actually use this when I want to upload music: http://img.dayzrp.com/mp3/

Its designed so you can update your profile songs, but works for other things too. I tend to keep Push for pictures.

Yes, i've found this link while searching the Question threads but I wasn't sure if one can use it for radio chatter threads, especially when I'm going to be uploading multiple files without overwritting the previous ones.

Have you tried Dropbox?

It's very easy, Register, download the app and upload music.

https://www.dropbox.com

And it is without a play limit.

As stated in posts above the problem with dropbox that I'm having is the link itself. Apparently free users that have registered after some changes were made cannot use a public folder. So the link that I'm getting is not compatibile with 'mp3' brackets (which displays a link in a website player). On the other hand I might be doing something wrong when it comes to dropbox as I've used it only from the browser.

You will have to download the App.

Then drag the Song(s) into the Dropbox, and then click the speaker symbol.

It will pop up a new tab and start playing the song. Copy that link.

Thank you very much for this. I'm gonna try it out ASAP and hopefully it will work :) Thank all of you for all the answers and help!

Ok, I've downloaded the App and that's how it looks (picture below). When I click the speaker symbol on the app itself it directs me to the dropbox folder. If I click the button next to the speaker symbol and name (udostepnij lacze) it directs me to the website. If I click the speaker symbol from the website window in a browser it opens in a new tab but give me the link not compatibile with mp3 code on forum.

Link looks like this:

https://dl-web.dropbox.com/get/radiorefugecompilation3.mp3?_subject_uid=480963970&w=AACecPMYsXFP6xAO3x74seAdmN5kQ2G9pBvk2gKD5LuxxQ

Can this be an issue with not having public folder and you have options that I don't?

It should work, as this is my link:

https://dl-web.dropbox.com/get/Viking%20Music%20-%20J%C3%B6tunheimr.mp3?_subject_uid=493574025&w=AACxIJzjRrfJlK7ugqNXfUX4NWPRe-HK-GaGrcZLP2txBg

Do the Following:

[ mp3] Your link. [/mp3] (Without the space inbetween [ and m)

But have you tried it - putting your link into mp3 code? Because this is what I get:

[mp3]https://dl-web.dropbox.com/get/radiorefu...2gKD5LuxxQ[/mp3]

When putting this link into mp3 code you get a player but the mp3 itself cannot be played. From what I understand it's because the end of the link is not .mp3 but my knowledge is limited in that area.

So you go here: https://www.dropbox.com/home log in and press this little button d13b1f9ba0.png and upload the file you want. Then take a look at your library.

It should look like this

5e124edd6b.png

click on the title of the file you just uploaded and it should look like this: https://dl-web.dropbox.com/get/The%20Weeknd%20-%20Tell%20Your%20Friends.mp3?_subject_uid=273017390&w=AAB6XZ-8q8Iq6_glGgjm0dM1umVezKoXJFLFMUW3mtsnJg

Take that link put it in the brackets.

[mp3] your link [/mp3]

Example:

Thanks AndreyQ but I'm unable to press play on the player in your post. Is it an issue on my end?

It might be as it works for me. What is this sort of sorcery??
