Date ingame

I've seen a number of times people saying that the date ingame is equal to the date IRL, so people say it has been a year since the outbreak. This was fine as when playing ingame time was equal to IRL time so it made sense ( atleast i think it was like that). But now i could play for 4-5 hours and actually experience 3-4 days ingame. So i was wondering if we're still saying its been a year or are we saying its been much longer due to the decreased time period of the days.

The IG date remains the same as the IRL one, even tho time passes quicker IG.

The day night cycle doesn't actually effect the real time period. If we used that, we would be several years into the apocolypse.

yes it is still the same date as IRL

I usually just pretend that it is the same day so it does not destroy The rp I have with others

this is the answer you were looking for

So if I were to meet someone and Rped with for an hour or so, and say someone else asks how long have you been together i say 1 hour even though I may have camped out the entire night with them. Same applies if someone asks how long ago did X happen, do i say the IRL or ingame time?

Here's how it works.

Let's say it is mid-day and you are travelling with someone. It gets dark and you stay make a fire and tell some spooky stories blah blah blah and it gets day. This lets say lasted like 3 hours IRL, which IG was like almost a full day. Here comes the sketchy part. If someone asks you how long did that last what do you say? I mean it was clear that a day has passed IG and you were up all night RPing that, so saying only 3 hours is just immersive breaking.

So as long as it does not conflict with anything RP related you can say the IRL time, for example you travel with someone and it is still day outside then you can say that lasted like 30 minutes - 1 hour when in fact lasted like 3 IG hours. Hope you get what I mean.

Yeah I understand I just thought as you said it is a little immersion breaking but and I was confused on what to say ingame a few times but I guess you can just work around it in certain situations. Thanks for the clarrification.
