Dating Sites: Useful or Not?

So I was just wondering if anyone has ever used a dating site(successfully)? I'm considering trying to use some but... not sure which ones I should use.

I tried Tinder once with my friends for fun, we were literally matching every single cute girl we found, a couple of them hit us back up but only one of them agreed to hang out, we didn't bang or anything right away but we went to a party and it was pretty cool, now we're friends. Depending on who you're looking for and what you're looking for. I'd only suggest dating sites if you have literally expended all options in the area around you to find people similar to you or with similar interests.

But, to answer the question. I've used a dating site twice. Both just dates, both were nice people. In the end, they weren't the people they described themselves as and they weren't interested in all they said they were.
