Harvey Green was never a soldier, never anyone particularly important for that matter. An aspiring writer going to school in his hometown of Boston, working night shifts at some discount bar to pay off debt. It was when his dementia ridden grandfather, a Chernarussian farmer, needed a caretaker, that Harvey traveled to Chernarus. There, in a secluded farmhouse near the village of Berezkhi, the two men watched the world slowly unravel. Without a television or the internet, Harvey was forced to use the radio, listening in on any information regarding the social unrest and chaos unfolding in South Zagoria. It wasn't until three weeks after patient zero, however, that the apocalypse reached him. Looters, desperate for food and supplies, tore the farmhouse apart, and gunned down Harvey's aging grandfather in a panic.

A devastated, young, and unprepared Harvey was forced to flee, leaving his grandfather's corpse behind. After weeks of aimlessly wandering, straying far from populated towns, Harvey met a kind and helpful fellow by the name of Tofi. It was Tofi that introduced Harvey to Isaac, and all three men decided to stick together. For a time, life was looking up, the three comrades finding a subtle amount of prosperity in the ruins of Chernarus. But eventually, one by one, each man was seperated from one another. By a stroke of random chance Harvey found Isaac once more and the two friends were reunited. The older and much more wise Isaac taught young Harvey the skill he needed to thrive, including how to function and be decisive in combat. Harvey had seen the worst in people, experienced the grand and horrific chaos gripping Chernarus.

And like his mentor Isaac, Harvey wasn't prepared to let humanity fall to vice. Bandits, the infected, lawlessness, all needed to be eradicated.

Harvey was ready to fight for civility.

Isaac Blake had always been a simple man. He grew up in Tennessee, brought up in a military family. He had always had plans and dreams to serve his country, and it was his father who inspired him to become a sailor. He served as a coreman aboard a ship, and enjoyed a relatively calm and rewarding tour of duty. That was until a looming communist threat finally struck at the heart of a small slavic country, thrusting it into chaos. He, alongside his fellow servicemen, were deployed into Chernarus to defend it's democratic government, and to defeat the communist insurgents tearing at it's throat. He spent most of his time helping wounded soldiers aboard a naval vessel, fixing them up and sending them back to the mainland to fight. Once the communists had been driven from Chernarus, Isaac opted to stay within the country, to help displaced refugees and the local CDF.

When the country was ultimately thrust back into chaos, courtesy of the infection, Isaac met up with the remainder of the U.S. Armed Forces, and the British Armed Forces. But eventually, he realized that both groups were holding to tightly to the old world, and knew they were not destined long to last. So, he abandoned them, and fled into rurual Chernarus to survive alone. At first, he found himself only caring only about self preservation. But as he continued to witness the horrors of the apocalypse, he realized that people needed more than just another recluse looking out for himself alone. He decided to try and set an example for others, to become a model for those seeking to restore civility to the wasteland.

Bryan Wilks had a particularly rough upbringing. He grew up on the streets of Detroit, surrounded by endless gang violence. Eventually, he was forced into the life, and took up a gun alongside his older brother and mentor, Joseph. Bryan maintained an image to satisfy his peers, and his 'brothers', taking part in various gang crimes and operations. He didn't receive any sort of military training by an means, but he was taught how to operate various firearms, and the basics of combat. Bryan's life took a turn, however, when his brother was gunned down in a sudden drive by. Young Joseph had made a split second decision. and shielded his brother from the barrage of gunfire. It was that single event that changed Bryan's outlook, and made him realize that he needed to escape. But he was an unemployed, poor, high school dropout, with nowhere to go.

Fortunately, he met a kindly middle aged man who took him in. This mentor took an interest in him, and saw great potential. Under the man's guidance, Bryan gathered enough funds to retreat to Chernarus, in order to study at the university in Novigrad. The mentor figured it would be best for Bryan to escape the United States, in order to see things from a different perspective, and gain needed insight. He moved to Chernarus and rented a home within Novigrad and began going to school at the local university. He even began learning Chernarussian, adapting to his new life. And then, the infection arrived. Bryan had the sense to retreat north just as things began to kick off, taking shelter in the various secluded towns and villages nestled away from populated cities. He managed to survive and keep safe from both bandits, and the infected. One fateful night, however, he came across two men sitting around a campfire. He came to know these two men as Isaac Clarke and Harvey Green, who would soon become his greatest allies.

All three men had experienced the worst humanity had to offer. Days spent dodging senseless violence and chaos. Bandits taking whatever, and killing whoever they please. The land was lawless, and most had lost their way. The three individuals decided that they had seen enough chaos and destruction, and came together to lay the foundation for a new beginning. They all had the chance to make a true difference, to restore some sort of law and order to the land. And they intended to seize the chance, no matter the cost. It was on a sunny day, atop a hill overlooking South Zagoria, that they formed the Minutemen.

They took the inspiration for their group from American history, and the revolutionary minutemen who sought to end tyranny. An homage to their roots, and to the country that had fostered them. The Minutemen would be an independent militia, composed of regular, honest folks, dedicated to protecting good people. They set out to gather a force large enough to pursue their ambitions, and aspired to establish a network of peaceful settlements, all working together to preserve law. They knew there would be many nefarious forces opposing their goals, but the Minutemen mustered the conviction to remain steadfast, facing every new day as a welcome challenge.

Their specific mission was to make Chernarus lawful and safe once more, returning the rule rightfully to the Chernarussian government.

2. Killing is permitted only in self-defense, the defense of others, or warfare.

3. You will only follow orders given by your superiors.

4. Represent this coalition for peace as it should be represented. Set a good example for your brethren.

5. Obey the old-world, basic human laws. Murder in cold-blood, theft and so on will not be tolerated and you will be punished accordingly.

This definitely needs some work. I'd probably work my ass off to make changes for the next two days.

For instance, this needs WAY more media, and the media you do have needs a little work. The Logo is alright, but I don't really like the colors.

I suggest for the text that you have a section for a brief lore about how your group came to be. and in spoilers have the backstory/lore for your charterers. It will make the thread look MUCH nicer.

The IG image is heavily stretched and gives the thread a negative look.

I don't know Fallout so I can't say how close this thread is to being a copy of Fallout, but I would watch the name.

All in all, the concept isn't bad at all, and I wish you luck in pulling it off IG, but I don't know how reasonable another Militia is. We are a year into the apocalypse, would we really have these paramilitary type groups propping up?

Anyway, Good luck with this idea!

Fallout much?

If you have a PO box I'd be glad to send you an American History Textbook. :)

there kiddo, the Minutemen aren't just a fallout creation, it was based off the actual Minutemen from colonial times during the revolutionary war.

anyway good luck with the group, I hope you won't go around saying "protect the people at a minute's notice! that's the Minutemen way" cause I'll laugh.... a lot

-snip-

A lot of people that we were directed to for headers and other pretty things are either inactive or no longer around, so the struggle has been real for some nice things to dot on our thread.

Thank you for the advice. :)

I know that.

I thought the group was in response to the Fallout craze that's sweeping the community much like Shiro's SHD group based on the Division.I understand the creation of the colonial Minutemen.

I live in the States.

Of course I know about our history.

Regardless if this is in response to Fallout, the minutemen were a significant part of our history and I can see this being a solid group. The thread obviously needs work, but the lore in my opinion, is completely believable. Hopefully you guys take this seriously since I can imagine this idea going somewhere.

Good luck with this!

I mean considering the certain groups and group ideas out there, I agree that this idea is one of the more believable ones, and it's also good to see a hero group of sorts pop up.

Overall good luck with this.

All joking aside good luck with the group, It looks very promising!

Seeing as though The Minutemen were a local militia-type group, back in the day. I think it would be more logical if your characters were all local South Zagorian's (plus the od foreigner here and there), either as a reaction to: the Civil War of 2009 or the Outbreak of the Infection.

Apart from that, good luck! I really love the idea.

Just a few things I'd like to say, like states above, some more eye candy would be nice. Also, I think the use of Spoilers would be good for them big blocks of text. It splits up the thread nicely. I'd say your goals are pretty unique nothing to change there really.

Best of luck with this.

Bit of a late reply to this, but considering Fallout 4 only came out a week ago it's hard to deny that this groups idea was triggered by it (regardless of the Minutemen being an actual part of American history). I feel as if this idea could have waited a bit longer to come out as a group, since a very popular triple-A title just came out with the same in-game faction. The basic idea for the group is nice, just the name put me off personally...

Even if they were a real thing and totally not inspired by fallout 4 smh then I still have a hard time seeing what they would be doing in Chernarus, I get that one of them had a grandfather and another one was a soldier but the guy moving to Chernarus to study whatever before even speaking a word of Czech or Russian makes little to no sense, i'm not trying to bash your idea i'm simply trying to make sense of it.

I think the idea could work out very well, but the name is just too convenient and the minutemen have little to if any history within Chernarus not to mention Europe as a whole.

I'd like to see if you guys are going to be changing anything and if you do i'll leave my thoughts once again but for now it still needs a lot of work in my opinion.

Despite it still being a fallout reference they are still part of history so I wish you luck with this

Why has it taken 200 years for the minutemen to re-appear after the American Revolution? And why Chernarus? Im sorry, but i cant see how this idea fits into anything that is in our lore currently. But then again, i have the same view on other groups too. IMO this has only been created from the Fallout 4 reference, and nothing to do with the "American" history as you say. Because that's exactly what it is, a 200 year old history.
