Greetings to the DayZ RP community! I'll be joining in-game as soon as I have a computer that can actually manage the game, and the game itself. As of right now I'll be participating by way of radio chatter. My first and foremost character's name is Nick Buchanan, if you're interested. I am excited to hop into this gory and twisted apocalypse story and enrich it with some of my own insanity. Thanks! I'll be asking plenty of questions, but those can wait until I have a decent computer to type in and not just a cruddy iphone (it does NOT like forums). The game should be available to me in January, but the computer wil be available in the next day or so.

Yeah, I figured DayZ RP wouldn't be much different than any other veritable RPG. I have been a role-player since I was 5, the only difference I've found so far is "powergaming". I call that "de-railing" in other role-playing games, and I used the term "power-gaming" for when a character was created using overpowered classes and spell selection (a la Dungeons & Dragons in almost every edition).

As for insanity, I have played characters with mental illnesses before, just not in DayZ RP. Also, I have a laundry list of my own mental illnesses, so I can draw from experience more than most. Honestly, every human being is insane, it's just that some are a little less accepted than others. I manage fairly well in my life, and this character is (loosely) based off of how I would act if put into this situation. I'm not "bat-shit-crazy", so I shouldn't have any ban reports, unless someone is trolling by report-harassing. The guides I have seen here are great for newbies, and I love the level of acceptance that their creators displayed. It actually made me smile a bit, realizing that at least a few folks get how people like me are.
