Thank you very much for having respect for those who fight and die for us. I am an American, and we have a similar day set aside. In my country too many people forget that the soldiers fight and die, they don't create the policies that send them to do it.

I actually had a discussion with some guys in my group about remembrance day, WW1 & WW2 and i was told of a man Leo Major. a Canadian scout sniper.. The Real Life WW2 Rambo..

-He stormed Juno Beach with thousands of Canadians and managed to kill 6 Nazi soldiers and steal a Sd.Kfz. 251 (half track) filled with Nazi Communication equipment SINGLE HANDED , he also lost an eye in the fight but continued..

-At the battle Scheldt he captured 93 German soldiers BY HIMSELF!!! he was offered the distinguished conduct medal by general montgomery but he denied it because he thought the general was incompetent..

-He Captured the Town of Zwolle by himself.. he was scouting the town when his spotter was killed by a patrol. So the crazy man decided to fool the germans into thinking the canadians were taking the town at night by running down the street fring a machinegun and throwing grenades.. IT WORKED.. the Nazi's were scrambling the city trying to defend it from a hidden enemy, he used this to his advantage and managed to capture soldiers in groups of 8-10 on his own on multiple occasions. Later he Torched the SS HQ in Zwolle causing mass panic. By 4:00 am the Nazi forces had evacuated the town.. Canadian artillery was planning a massive bombardment on the town at 6:00am.. he saved hundreds of civilian lives that day..

He also fought in korea..

-he was sent with 18 other elite canadian snipers to hold hill 355 from a far superior force (10,000-20,000 men) on the evening of the first day the 19 men took the hill and managed to hold it for 3 days from multiple counterattacks from far superior numbers while reinforcements could arrive.

Lim Bo Seng, a national Singaporean hero. A member of task force 136, a Singaporean/Malayan tasked to gather information to fight against the Japanese after the British abandoned us, leaving us under the cruel hands of the Japanese, he was a man who aided Operation Zipper, an espionage network to gather information for the resistance against the Japanese. Eventually he was captured by the Japanese. He stood under torture for 2 months, under extreme torture, the Japanese are known for their brutal torture techniques even including planting seeds of bamboo under the finger nails and letting it grow, destroying your hand slowly.

he didn't give a single cent of information up during his time under Japanese torture, this helped the resistance to live and continue to serve and save the people of Malaysia and Singapore.

my grandmother and grandfather(RIP) was part of the Japanese occupation, and they were actually saved by the resistance, ending them in a cave until 1946. my family owes a sense of gratitude to this war hero

(not all heroes are grunts)
