''A united group of people can always achieve more things than a single man.'' - Levkin Zykov''

Dear Community!

How are we doing today? hope all are doing well! shall we get straight into business and shall we skip the pleasantries?

I wanted to make this tread as a recently stopt by the community from a short leave of absence and i noticed a lot of chance in the community structure. Leadership, people going to different communities and more.

But this is not why i made this particular thread. I would like to hear your toughts what you think the community needs ingame wise.

Do you miss certain groups and would you like to see a return?  If so yes do you think this group should be taking a different direction?

What are your personal visions?

What kind of groups do you wish to see?

What kind of individual roleplay would you like to see from a person?

Do you have any ideas to make the server more fruitful and a fresh breeze of air.

What do you think people could improve on ( What are people doing right / wrong )

What areas In-game are in your opinion good centers of roleplay? What areas do you think the community should visit more.

What would give you that spark again and makes you want to be in-game and have a smile on your face?

What could the community staff do to help out and achieve the above goals ( if you think the matter )

What could you do to make that change ( stated all above )

This is not a typ of survey but just a thread for open discussion to give me a personal grasp where we are standing as a community but also to listen to old and new voices in this community. Aswell giving inspiration to each other and motivate each other to try someting new in dayZ RP Standalone.

Make sure when you post someting, keep it constructive, mature and have a good thought before you post it.

Let me know!

What kind of groups do you wish to see?

    - Creative ones

What kind of individual roleplay would you like to see from a person?

    - The best RolePlay that they can provide.

Do you have any ideas to make the server more fruitful and a fresh breeze of air.

    - Maybe Exile.

What do you think people could improve on ( What are people doing right / wrong )

    - Be more mature.

What areas In-game are in your opinion good centers of roleplay? What areas do you think the community should visit more.

    - Anywhere is a good centre of RolePlay.

What would give you that spark again and makes you want to be in-game and have a smile on your face?

    - I still have that spark

What could the community staff do to help out and achieve the above goals ( if you think the matter )

    - Continue doing what they do

What could you do to make that change ( stated all above )

    - Continue doing what I do

As a community leader and example, would you like to alberate on the above questions?

What is there to elaborate on?...

-The type of groups I want to see are creative ones and not recycled ideas that have been seen many times before.

-I want people to provide the best RP that they can and not run around the servers with some half assed RolePlay attempt.

-I think that exile could give everything a fresh breeze of air.

-I think there is a serious lack of maturity from various people in this community. Something that needs to change.

-When I am in-game I find good RolePlay everywhere. I do not find any one specific place to be good for RolePlay.

-I still have the spark to get in-game and play.

-I think the staff are doing a great job. They should continue what they are doing.

-Going with the previous statement, I think that I should continue what I do within staff.

We need The Family back, its the only way! :troll:

Really though, there is defiantly many ways the community could improve.

  •  I would like to see a new hero group. There is a good mix of survivor and bandit groups out there but not many that will go out of their way to help people. I don't think there should be that many to begin with but I think we need more than what we have now.

  • I want more people to have characters with personalities of their own. Many people join groups and create a plain character that is only meant to fit with that group. If I'm talking to someone I want to hear about who they are, not what group they are a part of. There is just way too much politics involved in RP and the moment.

  • Recently created a new group with Tucker. We are having fun with it, but we didn't want to make a group with the intention to create something that no one has done before. Honestly I don't think anyone needs to be a creative mastermind to create something new. A lot of the time people seem to try too hard to be different and their group just doesn't make much sense.

  • People can improve their RP by putting more thought into the background of their characters before they start to RP with them. Also, if someone is new to the community and RP in general, it would be wise to seek guidance from more experienced members. Also it would help if new members would look on the forums more. There are just so many great guides that can improve people's RP.

  • Right now it looks like the areas with the most traffic are the loot triangle, Novy/Stary, and Dolina. I would like to see people more evenly spread out across the map, even in remote locations with few buildings. Its just one more thing that people can add to their RP. For example, its easy to explain why you are in a big city, just say you are looking for supplies. If you are sitting in the woods by a camp fire you can act a lot more mysterious.

  • I am no less motivated to RP than I was 6 months ago, in fact my desire to improve my RP has grown beyond measure the past few months. I like to think that there are a lot of people who wish to do the same.

  • Staff work hard already, but there are some things that I think could be done. I would like to see the staff come together and change the whitelist. It seems to be way too easy right now. Just by looking at the reports recently you see new members being banned left and right. It just looks to me that people coming into the community don't understand how seriously we take the rules and RP. Also it would be nice for staff to stress to newcomers the importance of being active on the forums, there is just so much to learn about the community that can help you IC and OOC.

  • In the end we cant expect the staff to solve all the problems. Experienced members of the community need to be more open to showing the members how to improve their RP to the community's standards and give them a better understanding of the rules. Recently I have been trying to do just that.

People have to stop playing DayZRP for pvp, sure pvp is going to happen every once in a while but I see more and more people focusing on just going on the server so they can find somebody to rob and hopefully get some pvp out of the situation.

Roleplay is about player interaction, you develop a story, you choose your path in realistic ways.

Now when we get groups that go out there and just talk to eachother on teamspeak only and find small groups or people on there own that they can rob or kill with minimum RP just for the adrenaline then it slowly cracks away at the foundation in which RP should be.

I think robbing is fine, but I don't think everybody in Chernarus should be doing it and you should be doing it for IC reasons not OOC because you're bored.

We need more RP between eachother, even if you're part of the same group, do some internal RP & actually give your characters a personality and a mindset and develop your story...we don't need anymore mindless bandits.

More survivor or hero groups, enough with the constant stream of crazy's and bandits.

Do something different, BE CREATIVE.

The community needs a wipe!

The game needs a significant change (patch) for the better!

In all seriousness i would say the servers need something more "constant" right now, be it a camp, town or just a group that is super active/dominant in one area perhaps. I know there are groups around who have high activity but they don't seem to be static enough.

Only my opinion. *and yes i understand static camps/areas have issues...

What kind of groups do you wish to see?

  • Like Zoyo said: more hero groups. This feels quite hypocritical of me since I myself would not enjoy being a hero so I would not do one myself, but I feel there is a lack of the "good guys", people that will go out of their way to help others. I know the UN might not be the best example, because of the mistakes they made in the past, but I can still remember some real good, hero type people, from this group (such as Deeblack when he was UN, I miss him)

What kind of individual roleplay would you like to see from a person?

  • Hard question because what is fun about RP is getting a bit of a variety of characters that keep you on your toes. What I would like to see in general though is people being hostile without having to initiate. It is so many times just interesting to talk to a person and getting a bit hostile (maybe even raising a gun) without it being taken as an act of war.

Do you have any ideas to make the server more fruitful and a fresh breeze of air.

  • Do not really know here. Think exile might be good, just not sure if I'll play it...

What do you think people could improve on ( What are people doing right / wrong )

  • Like stated by someone before, maturity. I do not say everyone have to act all big and grown up all the time, and sure it is quite fun with memes now and again, but I am getting quite sick of all this talk about salt and snakes etc. This is more of a forum thing than an RP thing, but I am starting to feel it is getting a bit ridiculous and slipping into the RP.

What areas In-game are in your opinion good centers of roleplay? What areas do you think the community should visit more.

  • Novy/Stary usually gives good RP. But to be honest I have been having a hard time to find people lately, so I think people are spreading out more, which is good.

What would give you that spark again and makes you want to be in-game and have a smile on your face?

  • To be honest, I do not think it is all to do with the community. It is more of just a general boredness + not having the time with studying, and real life, etc

What could the community staff do to help out and achieve the above goals ( if you think the matter )

  • I think staff does a good job. Been feeling like they could get in game more often to get a feeling of where the RP is heading, but lately when I have been on I have seen some of the admins on so that is a plus!

What could you do to make that change ( stated all above )

  • I think to speak up and try to help. Try to make my concerns clear and try to give feedback on things. And when I am IG I guess I just need to do the best I can, and have as much fun as possible while doing it.

I personally feel there has been a shift, granted I haven't been part of the community as long as some of the older community members, but in the time I have been here things definitely feel like they've changed as a whole. I don't know what I could really attribute it to, if anything in particular, since it could just be a number of minor differences that had a ripple effect. I don't know  how I exactly feel about it, but I have seen a dip in my motivation to play my characters (that could just be a personal issue).

I personally miss when the Broken was at it's peek, they left a footprint in the rp of the servers that is still referred too even today, although it's not as often (from characters who have lived long enough anyway). Maybe it's just because of nostalgia, but I struggle to compare any of the groups who've come afterward to what they were. The Chedaki came close in my opinion, I think (I know I was always on edge whenever I ran into anything to do with Chedaki), but there was just something missing, no offense to anyone from the Chedaki, you guys did great.

I don't think this is a matter of a name, or the foundations of a group. Even if someone were to revive an old group, or reconstruct it's members, there's just something lackluster about it. I think it's what the groups are doing that made the difference. When the broken was around I was attending weddings, trials, and experiencing lots of in depth politics that were played out IC that I just don't see right now. (Maybe I'm just not finding it personally) But these weren't even official events really, and yet you would have a 50/50 server of people constantly spamming trying to either attend or attack these events dynamically. I wish I had some sort of suggestion, or advice I could throw out there, but honestly I don't think I do. Just wish I saw more of this in game, and I apologize if people are doing this and I'm just ignorant to their efforts.

I fully understand what you mean. But if you had the chance of starting your own group, what would you do? give it a bit of tought and let me know

What kind of groups do you wish to see?

Faith 2.0 ;)

a more immersive group that dosnt always pvp and focuses on rp E.g Alcyone

What kind of individual roleplay would you like to see from a person?

idk because its down to what type of character the person wants to make

Do you have any ideas to make the server more fruitful and a fresh breeze of air.

more lore impacting events

What do you think people could improve on ( What are people doing right / wrong )

too many people go out to meet other people to rob the, instead of trying to build a character story with them.

What areas In-game are in your opinion good centers of roleplay? What areas do you think the community should visit more.

Stary/ novy.

What would give you that spark again and makes you want to be in-game and have a smile on your face?

Zbor

What could the community staff do to help out and achieve the above goals ( if you think the matter )

What could you do to make that change ( stated all above )

promote role model people who are very good at RP, so that new people can follow them and learn a good way to rp and not follow streamers advice.
