One Long Night [Ramsay Mills Backstory]

The only thing we heard were the dead pounding on the church's front door and the hard rain hitting the roof. I held my wife and hoped that the dead wouldn't break down the doors. I'm not sure what the time was, but I know it was after midnight. There are about ten others huddled in the church with us. All I had was a pocket knife for a weapon. The only other person that had a weapon was a tall Russian man. He insisted that we needed the fight them, but the two of us only had weapons. No one else wanted to fight.

     Since no one agreed with him, we waited for hours. Around what I think was two in the morning, we all heard that we didn't want to hear. The wooden door started to crack and splinter. The door eventually fell to the ground and the dead pored in. I told my wife to stay behind me as I opened my pocket knife. The Russian man was the first to attack the herd. I only tried to kill the infected that came near my wife and I. We quickly got overwhelmed and many of the others died. All of the infected were in the church. From what I saw there was about a dozen and a half.

     I made it outside after killing about six infected. I turned around to look for my wife, who wasn't behind me. I heard her scream; I saw her laying on the church floor getting torn apart. I started to run toward the church when the Russian man grabbed me. He was covered in blood and screaming something in Russian. He pulled me away from the church, as I watch my wife die.
