More cooking problems

Recommended Posts

I was trying to cook with a gas stove and cooking pot. I had a full medium gas canister and the pot was full of water. I put raw fish fillet into the pot and turned the stove on. Here's where the problems began. The fish never cooked. The pot was red and the fish too, but the fish never changed from raw fish fillet to cooked. I went through the entire gas canister and the fish stayed raw.

Another issue was that I couldn't see the condition of the fish while the pot was on the stove. When I right click the stove and select view contents nothing happens. I had to take the pot to my hands to see inside it. Is this normal?

I also tried cooking the fish on a fireplace sticking it to the end of a stick. The fish didn't look like it reacted to the fire at all. But when I took it off the stick it was red. But again it never cooked. It stayed raw. Eventually it became all charred looking but still it said raw fish fillet. The condition never went down from pristine either.

So far the only way I've been able to succesfully make food is by farming it. I don't understand what I'm doing wrong with the cooking. Really frustrating.

All meat is currently bugged. No matter the condition, cooked or uncooked, the same thing happens. You get sick, and without treatment, you'll die. Consider yourself lucky you didnt find out the hard way.

Looking it up I couldn't find anything to indicate that it is a bug. Did a quick search on Google and saw that there are some bugs with the cooking pot yet this particular one has not been mentioned.

I personally haven't cook any kind of meat in 0.58 due to a bug that even cooked meat will make you sick so I can not say for sure but to me it sounds like a new bug to add to the many that occur in this patch.

Honestly, cooking any meat at the moment is completely useless.

Even if you manage you get it cooked (Which is buggy itself) you'll get sick from eating it.

But in general if you have any other confusions with cooking let us know, or take a look at this guide that I found pretty helpful myself http://dayz.gamepedia.com/Cooking.

First off, Don't cook my friend it's bugged. No matter what it is or if it is cooked or not, you will get sick.

This is a common bug apparently. This guide here states that fish will look cooked but will remain saying it is uncooked, which seems to be your exact problem.

Like everyone else said it is probably best to stay away from meat right.

meat in general is very buggy, doesn't matter if it's cooked or not cooked it'll still cause sickness
