Say NO to guns.

Recommended Posts

Franko    31

I'm not American but this really annoys me. Please leave a comment on your opinion however no hate, this is just what I think is right.

As you may or may not know there has been another mass shooting in oregon USA.

Ten people unfortunately been killed and nine are injured, this is not the first of this.

Shootings in america happen every single day. Familys are torn apart due to guns yet people disagree to stricter gun laws?!

"We don't need stricter gun laws, people need guns to protect themselves. Then there will be less shootings."

That was a comment from obama's speech on Facebook and I think it is shocking and appalling to see someone say this about guns! I mean look at Britain, france, germany - they have extremely strict gunlaws and because of this nobody dies! It's that simple! However some Americans believe in the constetution but that was written about 300 years ago!

Things change and I think America should live in a country thats safe with guns.

As a firearms instructor in Texas, I have to disagree. I conceal carry a firearm every day myself, and I have the ability to use it efficiently. It's not only a staple to my self defense, but also a form of recreation. I have the ability to protect myself and those around me without feeling like I hold some power over anyone. It's probably saved one woman from being badly beaten in a public domestic dispute and also kept my personal vehicle from having a baseball bat taken to it. I've not discharged it at anyone excluding a break in to my residence. The problem is not guns, it's the people that get ahold of them, rarely do you hear of the mentally unstable person that walked into the store and bought a new gun then went on a spree. They stole it, or bought it illegally. I work in the actual industry, and have been in the heart of it for a long time. Shootings are actually at their lowest in years, media just blows it up because it suits the agenda(which you are lending to unintentionally) and there's not much else to report on. Look up some official statistics NOT reported by news agencies and you'll see what I mean over the years.

Meh. I do believe that a bit more work could be done on enforcing more rules on the purchase of firearms. Psych evals, longer waiting periods, a lot of other things. I do believe that some of the hardware that is LEGAL to purchase need to be moved to the illegal pile. Though, i still think law-abiding citizens should be allowed to own a firearm to protect the household. But, any tampering with gun laws in the U.S. and a lot of people will call it an infringement of their constitutional rights to bear arms. It is a tricky tap dance to pull off, in order to make any large edit to something such as Gun laws.

Thanks man for sharing your view.

I understand your opinion however you say that it's "Guns aren't the problem it's the people that get hold of them."

Yes I understand what you mean but you can't stop someone from buying a gun, walking into a school and killing 10 people.

If their were to be gun laws like Britain, the person wouldn't be able to buy a gun in the first place.

Gun + Phsyco = Shootings

No gun atall + phsyco = No shootings

No gun+Phycho=stabbings or handmade firearms, look at crime in the UK and Austrailia, look at those statistics of violent crime per capita. People with violence on the mind are always going to act on it, you're just disarming the general populace from defending those actions.

Your issue is, you arent accounting for the deeply ingrained gun culture in America. You're not American, so I wouldnt expect you to understand, but this country was built on the belief that the government couldn't disarm you. You cant just change something like that, it's logistically impossible. Besides that, if someone is determined to do harm to someone, whether it be on a large or small scale, their ability to easily purchase a firearm wont change that. Where theres a will, theres a way. The issue in this country isnt gun control, its the lack of good mental health care.

Thanks for your opinion.

I honestly don't care about America's gun culture, what I care about is peoples lives.

Believe me, if your family member was shot and killed in a shooting, I'm pretty sure your opinion will be changed.

I'll end commenting with both of you but I'll just leave this here.

It's skewed statistics, you're looking at countries to compare to the US that have law enforcement that don't actively carry firearms. It's heavily misleading to someone that's uninformed about how each country runs their law enforcement. This will be my final comment on here, I'm not leaning to urge on a pissing contest, which is what WILL happen with these things being thrown around.

Also, you talk about general shootings, then post the worst number you could find which is NOT about general shootings or violent crime, it's about police shootings, which isn't the same. So... There's that.

Stuff like this makes me laugh... When will people lern a gun is a gun a tool it takes a operator to use said tool, the "tool" don't grow it's own legs and pull its own trigger and hurt/kill someone/something. It takes a operator.

Ill say it like a do every anti gun jackass did McDonald's make you fat? No you choose to eat the garbage.

Lets ban tobacco since it kills millions with cancer

Lets ban porn since it causes divorce

Lets ban video games side it causes violence

Lets ban fast food since it causes heart attacks

I can go on and on ... Guns don't kill people, people kill people.

If you aren't American then I wouldn't expect you to understand why keeping our guns are important to us. A little known fact, the amount of violent crime since the 70's and 80's has drastically decreased.

What's the difference you may ask?

The Internet.

I am not giving my guns away and neither are millions of other Americans.

I don't know why you made this thread, I find it insulting. We aren't politicians and we don't make the laws.

I did say "No hate".

It's just my opinion dude.

Also yes I am anti-gun, but not a jackass. If you want to insult people go somewhere else.

I look at it like this.

If you make guns illegal, the average law-abiding citizen won't have one, but criminals won't give a fuck and will still have them.

Then, the average law-abiding citizen won't be able to defend himself against a criminal, who's gonna have a gun either way.

I might be wrong with this, but it's just my opinion.

I'm sorry but in my opinion you are insulting us with this thread. You have no right to infringe on what we believe, and you definitely don't know what it's like. Maybe read the actual stats on gun violence and the effects, not see a speech and a social media post then make a thread about it.

I think ''the purge'' is actually not too far fetched ;)

Jokes aside.. I don't agree with guns, period.

However some Americans believe in the constetution but that was written about 300 years ago!

This argument is basically like saying "Wow, people believe in the bible and that's ___ years old!". The Constitution is the framework for all U.S. laws and is very difficult to make amendments to. There will always be people who want to keep their 2nd amendment right to bear arms (myself included) and making it more difficult to acquire a gun just impedes on that right. Plus if you think about it, if someone really wants to commit a crime then they will find someway to obtain a weapon as most weapons used in crimes in the U.S. usually are stolen weapons to begin with so nothing will really change.

Edit: Just my opinion, take it as you wish.

This is going to get heated fast even if that was not your idea. before people really get into I might suggest that you request it closed. Dayzrp is not the place for this discussion.

//edit: you took my advice before I could even give it to you.

I understand that this may be an intriguing subject to quite a few community members, and it is your right to discuss the matters involving your own government.

However, this conversation is getting controversial and heated, and therefore will be closed.

Thank you.
