New WIP sickness?

Recommended Posts

Today after a fire fight I got someone to give me a saline bag, for some unknown reason it gave me sickness! This weird sickness drains hydration from you at a very high rate. You will be dying from dehydration with in 15 (when on max water). I don't think there is a cure, I have tried Antibiotics & charcoal tabs.

Status Effects:

Stage 1: I feel tired / I feel worn out = no effect.

Stage 2: My gut rumbles = drains water at a high rate.

(More status effects coming soon. Assuming it progresses and I don't die)

Your wounds could be infected. I couldn't solve it by taking pills or anything. I had to find alcohol to clean them.

As AsOiX said above me, your wounds are probably infected. This can happen from either sewing your wounds with a sewing kit, getting scratched by a zombie, or bandaging with damaged bandages/rags. You could also maybe have cholera. If you don't have the "Sick" status when you press tab, then it's a glitched sickness. I had it once and no matter what I did, it wouldn't go away. The only cure was suicide. So, good luck getting rid of it, if it is in fact the glitched cholera.

What your friend may be is actually a carrier of Cholera and you have received a lethal strain. Odds are your character will die. I hate to tell you that, but this sickeness will either have to be endured or you have to find Antibiotics fast.

Death is an option.

As Autumn has said; you have Cholera.

I had this once before, and I have no idea how it happened because I was pretty sure I had only been drinking water from wells, but DayZ likely just wanted to kill me with some sort of bug, haha.

Here's a link to the information about the status effects while being sick with Cholera, in case you were wondering. But, you are basically going to die. I tried everything I could to keep my character alive, and in the end I would get her hydrated and five minutes later she would be "dying of dehydration" again.

Sorry, friend! But your character is in some trouble!

Stay close to a water well, keep yourself hydrated and keep eating.

Have fun sustaining the cholera! :)

Cholera takes 6-10 hours to heal.

Have mates bring you food, and stay by a well.

Eat some antibiotics once in a while.

People dying from Cholera are fucking weak (or even implying you can die from it). Stay next to clean water, get some food and keep drinking.

I fucking survived Cholera on public server, contracted it after a firefight at Vybor military - ran to Pustoshka, sat at a well for a 6~ hours and endured that shit like a virtual man... Then I ran to Elektro to meet my fresh spawn friend whom was being chased by a zombie hoard - I died 2 minutes later.

it takes a real man to survive a disease that killed thousands of people in many countries around the world which lack access to clean water and then he gets mauled to death by something we punch to death with a stick

*slow clap* a real man

In my defense, the cholera almost killed me. The zombies just finished the job... So yeah - I guess I was wrong.

So I guess I redact previous comments and say... stay away from cholera... mmyep

Take an ungodly amount of antibiotics and even some vitamins if you have them. I believe they help strengthen your immune system, not sure on this though.

Other than that, do what everybody else said and stay next to a well :)

If your wounds get infecte you can find creams or a plant that you can use i think it would add a little more to the game aswell as cream is hard to find so best way the sort it is to find a plant that will help but they should be a look alike that can make it worse like the berry thing but a little harder to know.
