Apocalyptic Mix-Tape

Recommended Posts

Wulfe    6

I was thinking of Yuri carrying an old Mix-Tape, similar to how Peter Quill (Aka "Star lord") in the recent Guardians of the Galaxy movie carried the "Awesome Mix." That way when the Lada and the Volga are added I'd be able to play it when driving. (Assuming those cars have cassette players as I'm pretty sure the V3S does not.)

I've been trying to pick songs that have sad, lonely, apocalyptic like themes - or general themes of death or murder - similar to the music choice in Fallout 3. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions? I'll put what I have so far:

  • Immigrant Song - Led Zeppelin
  • Another One Bites the Dust - Queen
  • (Don't Fear) The Reaper - Blue Oyster Cult
  • Wish You Were Here - Pink Floyd
  • Nothing Else Matters - Metallica

*EDIT*

Alright I've got a Mix-Tape that I'm happy with. I did a little research on how much music would fit on a standard cassette tape. They come in different lengths but I selected an hour long tape - 30 minutes on each side - and made two playlists.

Side #1 (8 Songs)

  • (Don't Fear) The Reaper - Blue Oyster Cult
  • Bad Moon Rising - Creedence Clearwater Revival
  • Behind Blue Eyes - The Who
  • Gimmie Shelter - The Rolling Stones
  • Another One Bites The Dust - Queen
  • Renegade - Styx
  • All Along the Watchtower - Jimi Hendrix
  • Sympathy For the Devil - The Rolling Stones

Side #2 (6 Songs)

  • Knockin' On Heaven's Door - Guns N' Roses
  • Immigrant Song - Led Zeppelin
  • Wish You Were Here - Pink Floyd
  • Stairway to Heaven - Led Zeppelin
  • Wanted Dead or Alive - Bon Jovi
  • Live and Let Die - Guns N' Roses
  • The Last in Line - Dio

I like the idea, my character always carries around his elvis and his "atomic days" mixtape which contains songs from the 40's,50's, and 60's. You got some good selections on there.

DayzRP has in many ways become synonymous with this artist, and especially this song:

So it is required that this is added to the mixtape before we can drop it.

Hah, made me laugh.

I don't really get it, but I suppose that's the way it goes with inside jokes.

Wow good stuff in there. I might shuffle around my mix-tape a little, there are too many good songs. Maybe I can start a radio station. Would be pretty cool. I'm probably gonna have to put On The Road Again on there. My buddy and I would randomly start singing that when we were bored.

... Maybe I can start a radio station. ...

I'm currently in the TeamSpeak with my Jukebox, if you wanted to drop in.

It's a second identify that uses a Virtual Audio Cable as the Capture Device.

So I can broadcast my playlist through TeamSpeak or in-game crystal clear!

I'd gladly help you set it up if you were interested in doing something similar or on a larger scale.

This is one of my favorite apocalypse songs. More for a nuclear apocalypse, but it's still fun to listen to. Would totally not be out of place in a Fallout game.
