DDOS Threats...

Recommended Posts

We had a guy come through our TeamSpeak trying to get onto the RP server. He wasn't a member of ours, but was trying to get into the server and had filed an application. Apparently his back story was not good enough and he was denied.

Anyway, we told him how to improve on it and he got upset and threatened to DDOS the Day Z RP server. He was banned from our TeamSpeak and is now banned from our website as well. Here is his information:

Names: CosmicPigeon / CosmicPigeon2 / xgodofwarx

IP: 75.97.208.253

Day Z RP Account: http://www.dayzrp.com/User-cosmicpigeon-2

In case he rolls through here and tries something.

EDIT:

If you search the net for him, he's done this before. He was banned from AWOLGamers and threatened to DDOS them, and was denied as an applicant throughout a bunch of groups.

isnt threathening with DDoS illeagle?

Not really no. Even DDOSing I don't think is either unless it interrupts your service and causes you a monetary loss. But I'm sure the admins here aren't going to want him trying.

DDOS has been a Federal felonious crime in the United States since the Telecommunications Act of 1996.

And in the madness since 9/11, threatening it may be considered a crime as well, or even a terrorist act. But I don't know. I do know that DDOS itself is a crime according to the above-mentioned legislation.

As to this jack-hole and his ways and means....he sounds like a punk-ass kid with poor impulse control. He probably doesn't know the first thing about how to conduct a Distributed Denial of Service attack on anything other than the milk carton in the family fridge.

Yeah the FBI are always trying to track down game server website DDosers :)

It would be groovy if that were true. They're much too busy attempting to recruit disgruntled youth into becoming jihadist bombers, and enlisting them in their planned "attacks" with fake bombs so they can "foil the plots" and justify their budget and payroll. Crazy frackin' world we live in these days.

oy m8, les jus fok 'm up.

Is cyber-bulling allowed? Just asking.. ;)

They're working on making that a crime if they haven't already.

You're best off just cowering in your tenement or under-water mortgaged "tax shelter" and hope the "evil doers" leave you alone.

Nothing to see here, Citizen. Move along.

:D

Gets killed - Threatens to DDOS the server unless gear is returned - Gear is returned.

It's really a win win situation there.

Just kiddin'

It's still fun to poke around, though.. he won't even notice I'm there.

EDIT: Just gonna leave this here, though:

That wasn't the point of this thread. :\ Exactly the opposite. I made you guys aware of it so you can make sure he doesn't cause problems... not cause problems for him.

Thanks for the heads up, but without proof I can't really do anything.

But aren't you guys pro haxxors :D If the guy is stupid enough to run a DoS from his home connection, so be it.

Closing this, as the amount of Internet warriors is too damn high :)
