What is Persistent?

Recommended Posts

So this is just a quick question on things that are persistent

I know that containers (most) V3S's are persistant, but what else?

Just add on to the list:

  • Vehicles
  • Tents
  • Backpacks
  • Weapons
  • Farms

Basically, are fireplaces, magazines, and ammo boxes/protector cases persistent are main ones, but add on completely.

I believe all the items you listed in your last sentence are persistent, with the exception of fireplaces. Fireplaces will disappear after several restarts, or at least they did prior to 0.54.

Actually with out persistence on the server the only thing I think are persistent are vehicles even at that. I believe it is so fresh loot will spawn and fresh spawns and such have a chance of living.

Everything persists every single thing exceptions are farming plots.

Last time i tested it was about 3 or 4 patches ago so i dont know if that was fixed.

and as for fireplaces they do persist last time i checked, they will survive through one restart then vanish after a while

Again last time i checked was about update 0.50

When persistence is on (which it currently isn't)

EVERYTHING is persistent. The only exceptions being farming plots and some fireplaces

Each type of item has a different decay rate though so some may last weeks whilst others may last one restart

Oh, I thought they turned on persistence on. Will it be on again soon?
