Something I just sat and wrote. I actually thought it wasn't that original and creative when I finished. But I do have a problem, I always feel kind of stuck, creatively. Having trouble putting imagination on paper. Tell me what you think.

Character Back Story

Name: John Greene

Age: 28

Nationality: Originally from US, Idaho.

moved to Chernarus with His Sister (Amy) and Mom (Harriet). Father (Andrew) was murdered making a business deal that went wrong.

My character (Before the outbreak): A young man who feels responsible to fill the role of his father and look after his family.

Collective guy who draws the line when it comes to his family. He will help those in the hour of need, if it feels right. He trusts his instincts.Good man, sympathetic. But, there’s more… His past. He was witnessed to his father’s murder and was left with a post-traumatic stress. He will protect his family, but think before pulling the trigger on another person.

He likes to have order, hates seeing the wrong done to the innocent. He hates standing by, but will think twice before intervening.

Story:

Before the outbreak, he was working in a farm that his family owned in the US near Idaho, the kind of work his father used to do. He was also working in a part time job as an instructor at a gun range. A skill he learned from his dad who used to take him out to the woods and just let off some steam. When Amy, his sister, was old enough – John taught her as well.

They were close. Had a good relationship, she looked up to him. Counted on him. They both did whatever they could for their mom when she asked for help. She and dad were in a good marriage for a while. Someone looking for aside won’t think there’s a problem. But in reality, mom was scared from dad. Or at least his occupation. Many deals occurred in the house, we all saw who he was connected with. Bad people. Dangerous people. He used to drink a little every night… Take away the stress. When one of his deals went wrong, John was with him. He waited in the car. They were on their way to the range when Andrew said he had to stop for a minute. John saw the whole thing from the car. They just shot him in the face… After shaking off the initial shock, he jumped to the driver sit and hauled ass. He drove back to the house, got his family to pack everything. He had little time to explain, and after a few minutes of arguing - they decided to trust him. He took some money and passports he knew his dad made for them. John saw him once in his work office when he was a kid, dealing with the blank passports and family pictures. He was right about his guess, it was in fact for an emergence, in case they had to go. There was some money in the bag, bag that was hidden under the floor in his office. He took everything and everyone - and left. Their destination was Chernarus. He had a friend (Anna) who he was e-mailing to, who lived there. They met in collage when she was there as a foreign exchange student. They both studied Music in the University of Idaho. When they graduated, she had to go back. She lived in Svetlojarsk, but they stayed in touch.

John wrote her, said he can’t explain over an e-mail and asked if she will have them for a few days. She agreed – and they left.

After arriving, things seemed to have calmed down. A few weeks have past, they couldn't really turn to an authority figure, they were on their own.

Eventually the Greene’s got their own place. Started a farm near the black lake. John thanked Anna for everything, her support and hospitality. They grew pretty close, Anna and John.

Everything went good for a few years. Calm. John went to Anna's place rather often, they were hitting it off.

On one the days, they heard about some kind of virus that was hitting some regions in the west. They didn't have a lot of options or things to do, so they just stayed put. John told Anna to stay in her apartment as well. John and Amy helped as much as they could. Their mom was is a rough shape…She was in bed for a long time. After a few weeks, the news feed was cut off, they couldn't know what was going on. So the lived in the dark for a couple of days.

And then – Men came. Claiming everything. The food, the water…The women. John and Amy were outside, they saw two men go into the house. And then their mother screaming. John tried to fight them, there were 5 of them all together. But he was outnumbered and got knocked out. When he woke up, it was sunrise. He needed a few seconds to understand what the hell happened. Where is he? Where’s everyone?

He found his mom up stairs, her throat slit. He screamed. Screamed for Amy - she was gone. And that’s when he encountered one of them. The walking dead. He didn't understand what it was, what he was seeing. He tried to yell for help, but that person was just walking towards him. Attacked him. John fought him off, seeing as how the creature wasn't giving up – John put a knife through his head.

John lost himself in the next few days. Drank from the stock they were keeping in the basement.

Few days later, a man and a woman came to the farm. They saw John, pointing a gun at them, no questions asked. They said they were just passing through, that they were thirsty.

John said nothing, kept pointing his gun. The strangers said they didn't want any trouble - and they left. John changed after everything that’s happened. He kept drinking.

Until it hit him.How could he be so selfish? so stupid? He didn't actually see his sister’s body. Anna might still be alive. Both of them might still be out there. Somewhere. He will search of them. And those men.

Impressive and well written with interesting story line.

Though a spelling error in the bottom of the second paragraph: collage

Still impressive and keep up the good writing.
