Just came across this on reddit, are logs useless?

Well, we have whitelists here. So I would imagine, as long as they can identify the problem, they shouldn't have an issue removing them from the DayZRP servers.

Now, I have been caught out many times reposting a topic even though I DO search. This appears nowhere I can see on this forum...so hopefully it's fine lol

He edited the post. Plus he runs a pub, which maybe harder to figure people out. Not the case here.

EDIT: u/tuckeee Just found a brilliant way of making it work!

1)Find out who is the culprit via logs.

2)type #userlist and use page up or page down to scroll trough the users.

3)Find wich Userid (not gameid) is linked to the culprit.

4)#exec ban userid found in (3)

Wonder why the devs don't provide this info to us though.

Yeah we don't have an issue with banning people..

That's what I like to hear :D

My hobby on my previous Altis Life server was recording arseholes doing arsehole things and getting them banned :)

Logs are great for fires, not really useless tbh.

Didn't want to bother about starting a new thread in case it's already been asked (I couldn't find one though) - are your logs backdated to pre-current build?

If so, I have an arsehole to report...if not, then I just don't have enough evidence to prove who it was or get any information about it apart from he was a ghillie with a mosin who KOS'd.

I believe they backdate to when 0.53 came out. You'd be better of asking a GM or admin though :)

Yeah we don't have an issue with banning people..

Luna!

Just curious if logs are backdated before they were implemted?

IE: have you logs of things that happened before the logs were implemented? I remember there were rumours about that.

Cheers,

The Gent

No we do not have a back date of logs unfortunately.

Logs are great! I reported someone for KoS and someone else reported the same person. He wasn't removed for KoS, but he did receive punishment for combat logging that wouldn't have been possible without logs.

So even though I was upset he didn't receive a greater punishment, it was nice knowing he received some form of justice.
